The lounge was certainly no place for a corkboard. But there it was -- a shiny, brand new corkboard. It was too bad that since you were now dead you didn't have anything to put up on it. No buttons, no notes, no nothing. The bar didn't even come with napkins or pens. Better yet, you didn't have anything you could use to stick a note up.

It was just... there. Plain, boring, and easy to miss. Or at least it was before someone came in, put a note up and stabbed said note before leaving.

Now there's a note with an intriguing proclamation. And a shiny dagger. It's too bad that whoever put the dagger in knew what they were doing -- no amount of tugging or pulling can bring it out. It doesn't help that your hand goes through it whenever you try to touch the blade part of it either. Being dead sucks.

But why stop there? Why not read what the note has to say?

So you're dead.
Wanna live again?

It's quite simple, actually. I am in need of an unknown amount of volunteers. These volunteers will get one last shot at impressing us and acquiring a pendant. How? You'll see. Simply list your Name and Squad. Please use your identifying squad color when posting. And if you don't know what that is, I suggest you think back a bit harder to when you were alive.

(( THE OOC:
- YOU MAY NOT SIGN UP IF YOU PARTICIPATED IN THE TEST. Sorry, please give other people a chance to play!
- You need to RP your character coming up to the board and looking. If you've already moved on/concluded your character, you can still participate!
- In addition to following the note's directions, please also roll ONE 4-sided dice.
- This task is going to be a dice-based game with some RP elements. If you do not like dice, please hold off on signing up for this -- there will be a LOT of dice rolling involved.
- DON'T YOU DARE MAKE A POST AND EDIT IT TO FILL IN YOUR RP POST. I will be watching. Sign ups are NOT first-come first-serve. I will shoot you if you do this. >(
- Also, please indicate if you have RPed in a Task or not. If you have, please provide a link to YOUR first post in it.
- Please put all the requested information in OOC at the TOP of your post.

Sign-ups will probably close in a day or two! This thread will be locked when that occurs.

Concerning Concluded Characters:
Think of this as a "bonus stage." After the task is done, ALL DEAD CHARACTERS WILL GO BACK TO BEING DEAD. This task will let you return to life TEMPORARILY, though if you manage to get a pendant... who knows what will happen?

In the meantime: please assume that once this task is done, your character will return to being DEAD. If you concluded them, they'll be back to being concluded.

tl;dr: this is a TEMPORARY task. Once it's over, your character will return to being dead.))

((A7. Alpha Squad. I participated in Last Man Standing))

Desperate for a distraction, A7 stood up off his barstool to go read a note that was fastened to a billboard that he was certain hadn't been here before. The words were big, bold, and beautiful.

And they were easy to read.

"Guys." A7's voice had caught fire, loud and boisterous once more. "GUYS."

He turned his head, and slammed his fist into the wall.

"GUYS."

He'd gotten Z8's attention. If she could see past the mask, she would have seen his answer before asking the question. He was grinning like a mad fool, finally being given the one thing he'd been looking for.

A way out.

"You bet your sweet a** I'm going." He stated, looking around for some way to sign the note with his information. "Where.. how the ******** do I even.. Jesus Christ, how are we supposed to sign our names down without a PEN?!" He slammed his fist into the paper again, and letters seared into existence on the paper.

A7. Alpha Squad.

".. Well that's just creepy."

((Zeta Eight played in Last Man Standing))

Alpha Seven had had her attention at the first 'guys,' Zeta Eight's head snapping in his direction, the reiterations growing in strength only heightening her attentiveness, muscles tensing. Something felt wrong. Straightening slowly, Zeta Eight tilted her head to one side in a curious manner, glancing from Alpha Seven to where he was looking on the wall. A note? Had that always been there? Moving towards it with long, purposeful strides, she crossed the room in a few seconds, coming to stand beside the large Alpha, her eyes focusing on the note.

'So you're dead... want to live again?'

Part of her wondered if it was worth it. The clear torture they had been through suggested that this would not be a kind nor easy task, and would likely result in another excruciating death. They'd also be offering themselves as pawns once more, playing right into their 'captor's' games. But the other part, the part who could not stand idly, knew that she would not turn down the opportunity. Turning her attention back to Alpha Seven, she gave him a long stare that was clearly a question in disguise.

Well. Shall we?

Zeta Eight gave no notion that he had hit the nail on the head with his response, answering the exact question she had been 'asking.' Really, she was quite pleased that both he and Zeta Three could understand her body language... however limited it was. She didn't show this, of course. Instead, she merely looked back to the note, lifting one hand to press a gloved fingertip underneath his name. Just as it had with Alpha Seven's, her own 'name' appeared beneath it, this time in orange ink.

((Z3 playing in Last Man Standing too!))

As could only be expected of someone like her, Zeta Eight's question lanced into through him like a rail road spike through the heart, and it took everything not to wince visibly after the fact. Could he sit by and do nothing? Could he sit by and do nothing? He sat by and did nothing because he didn't know how else to deal with things. That horrible door was a looming gamble he couldn't trust, but at the same time, she right; they really couldn't stay here, either.

It just seemed like there was no answer, no truly reliable way out.

... And then A7 started hollering and pointing at something with such fervor that even he couldn't turn a blind eye anymore, sluggishly peeling his body off the chair on Z8's trail to at least see what caused the uproar. Normally, he might not have made the effort, but... No, there was something telling him to check.

Reading over the female's shoulder, immediately his interests piqued. That note. Surely, it had to be a recent addition to the lounge or someone else would have taken heed of it. For a moment, his heart actually gave an uncertain flutter of something like hope, but immediately Z3 tempered himself, remembering that, no, chances were that this too would simply be a trap of some kind... and yet....

With no life to lose now, the 'gamble' of some twisted game seemed so very favorable compared to his other options. Of course he wanted to live again, and if this... whatever it was... somehow offered the smallest chance of that prize, he'd take it.

"... I suppose it's better than nothing," was all he remarked, a far more even tone than before, before reaching right around Z8 to press his own fingertip on the paper.

Z3. Zeta Squad.

Was it hope he had? Maybe. Maybe not. But if nothing else, he now possessed a small distraction to keep him from mulling over what was probably still inevitable regardless.

((yII played in Minesweeper! ))

There was a billboard now, that seemed to have spawned out of nowhere. Curiosity struck yII as a few others gathered on around it. Making his way over, he saw the note stuck to the corkboard and was immediately interested in what it had to offer.

A second chance.

Now he had to wonder just what this would entail. Surely it wouldn't be something simple. But it was still a chance. He stared at the note for a little longer while trying to figure out if he should take it up. The answer was yes, he should. This was something he couldn't quite pass up. And maybe this time he wouldn't end up being eaten by a bunch of ravenous piranahs.

Letting out a sigh, he pressed his finger to the paper to leave his mark.

yII, Gamma Squad

At this point he really had nothing else to lose, so he may as well go forth with it.

((ε XII of Epsilon Squad participated in [TASK] Minesweeper))

E-12 heard the commotion by the bulletin board (was that always there?) and stood to get a better look. She could see a paper attached, but couldn’t make out the writing from her vantage point. Whatever it said had the red and orange people fairly excited so she walked over to get a better look.

So you’re dead. Wanna live again?

E-12 froze. Of course she did. The whole reason she hadn’t walked through the door yet was a paralyzing fear of suddenly being gone. E-12 would cease to exist and ... whoever she was before would be dead.

The part about volunteers was suspicious. The last time E-12 had volunteered for anything, she’d ended up dead. But now that I’m dead, what’s the worst that could happen? E-12 decided then and there that she’d sign up, but this time she wouldn’t leave her team out of it.

“Epsilons!” she called back to the others on the couch. “Come quickly! There’s something I think you’ll be interested in here!”

E-12 turned back to the board and delicately touched the paper with her finger. The following words formed indelibly beneath her finger in pink ink:

ε XII. Epsilon Squad.

“Oh.” she breathed. Well, it was done.

Gamma Two looked over when he heard someone shouting for the group's attention. What was...hey, was that bulletin board always there? It had to have been, there was no such thing as bulletin boards just APPEARING out of thin air! ...Then again, he was dead. So there probably (and obviously) was such a thing. Odd thing, Death.

"...Oh hell yes I want a chance at life!" Excited as hell about this second chance that strangely felt like a bonus round, he looked for a pen. When he found none, he looked perplexed but, luckily, the person ahead of him, E-12, demonstrated to him how to sign the sheet. Oh! That was...probably another weird death thing. Reaching out, he pressed his finger to the paper, watching his name and squad form on the line.

yVII. Gamma Squad

"...That is awesome." Grinning behind his mask, he wandered to stand near Gamma Two again, waiting to see who else would sign up. "I'm excited. Are you excited? I am."

[Participated in Minesweeper!]

The magically appearing corkboard did not really surprise her, but then again, she had seen so many "magical" things on the island since her arrival on the island that it could last her a lifetime... If she weren't already dead anyway.

The piece of paper promised her a chance to change that.

"Sounds like a trap to me," She eyed the piece of paper, having followed Gamma Two and Seven from the comfy, comfy couch, "It also sounds fun and much more exciting than sitting down and twiddling our thumbs." She grinned, and pressed the paper lightly with her finger without hesitation, removing it only when she saw her name appear.

β VII, Beta Squad

"And now, to wait," She muttered before taking a step back; she was sure there would be more signing up soon.

((ε VII participated in Last man Standing))

E7 titled his head as E12 ran over to the bulletin board. He got up to see what they were talking about.

"Interesting" He replied as he tilted his head as the words ε XII, Epsilon Squad, appeared. He tilted his head "Well if this don't sound promising."

He attempted to sign it as well.

ε VII. Epsilon Squad.

"Can't be no worse than last time."

[Z4 Participated in Last Man Standing and has "Moved on"- taking some liberties for "continuity" sake XD ]

As Z4 walked into oblivion, the last thing he expected to see along the way was a bulletin board. What was this? A... a second chance? For a moment he wondered if he wanted one. He had lived a good life... or so he figured. He still couldn't remember, but... it was worth a shot, right? Did everyone get this chance? It was very nice of the gods, that was for certain!

In the quiet of the portal, he signed his name with the pen that hung from the board:

[E8 participated in TASK Minesweeper]

What was all the whispering and staring about? It seemed everyone had turned their attention and started huddling around this one area, including some of his own team members, and E8 couldn't quite make out what had caught their attention.

"Now what? Another thing from that creepy robed guy?"

Rising from his seat, E8 shoved his way through the crowd and blinked at that he saw.

A chance to live again? Volunteers? Was this some kind of joke?'

"Well well now..."

Grinning, E8 grabbed the pen and signed his name.

[E-5 particpated in Last Man Standing]

E-5 didn't even have to think about it as he followed E-8 to the board, he had seen E-10 pass through however she seemed rather willing to disappear into the blackness beyond the door without hesitation. He didn't feel the want or need to merely just vanish so soon, he had done so little and she had robbed him short of it.

"A second chance just what I was hoping too bad E-10 left the party so soon," he replied signing his name up pretty quickly.

ε V Epsilon Squad

Too bad the truth was even if E-10 had stayed he doubt he could have done much harm to her. She did kill him yet some how he still felt as if she was a member of their team really he just wanted to know why she moved in such actions. Well maybe one day he would know why but until then looking forward to another chance with the rest of his team was a little more fun.
