Aaaaaah, the old assertion that if you believe in God, you're a creationist by definition of HERP DERP IT'S HERE IN A WEEK.
Also, let's not forget the fact that the biggest developments in science, medicine, art and exploration were done at a point where the funding was coming from the church.

Translation: don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. What is meant by "God" can change drastically between individuals and cultures. Not everyone who believes in God is necessarily a fundamentalist/creationist/extremist.
Frankly I'm more skeptical of those supposedly employing the scientific method, then demanding that all religion be abolished than religious folks who think science is pretty groovy.
"God is outmoded and must be eschewed" sounds like another religion built around a precept that in and of itself is a great idea, but has since been bastardised and thrown about like an authoritarian absolute that must be adhered to. I'd much rather learn what I can from any system than be told the correct one to use by pundits of The One Truth.
