Dorian was overjoyed when the rain stopped early that morning and the sun broke through the clouds. He could barely contain his merriment and nearly got caught staring out the window of his classes at the lush green grass and the shining sun outside. Thankfully there were other kids who were acting the same way and Dorian managed to go unnoticed. For that he was ever grateful; today was not a day he wanted to spend in detention. He'd been stuck inside so long because of the rain and the overcast skies that he had nearly forgotten what it was like to have the sun shining on his face.
When his last class finished, Dorian quickly gathered up his writing supplies and made a move towards the door. It was already plugged up with over eager students, so Dorian had to wait patiently until the door wasn't clogged up before he could shoot out. He knew better than to run to the Slytherin room with the watchful eyes of the teachers on the lookout for rule breakers and walked as quickly as he could instead. Even though he was regulated to a quick walk he was able to get to his dorm in little time.
Now what could he do? If he had a broom he would probably practice his flying but with the strict rules the school had about that he knew there was no way he could. Oh well, he'd just have to find something else to do. As long as it was outside that was fine with Dorian. He stashed his books and supplies into his trunk for safe keeping and hung his robes on the end of his bed and then donned a light weight jacket. It was more than likely to be a bit chilly outside after all that rain and he didn't want to catch a cold from it.
"What should I do?" He mused as he grabbed his bag of marbles and shuffled it around as he let his mind wander. It had been awhile since he had climbed any trees. And he was pretty sure there were a few safe ones that he could climb on the school grounds. He knew better than to go anywhere near the Whomping Willow and had no desire to mess with it.
"Climbing trees, good idea." he said with a grin and then donned a pair of sneakers. He knew better than to use any spiked shoes as they would harm the tree. He'd just have to be careful not to slip as the trees could have slippery moss on them.
"What a wonderful day it is." he breathed with a happy smile on his face, as he emerged from the Slytherin Common room and made his way up the cellar stairs and down to the nearest exit.

With the sunny day, Clover was eger to get out onto the grounds and into the sun. However she had to wate for her classes to get though.
Luckly for her today she didn't have a long list of classes, and was done by lunch. When she dumped off her text books in her trunk she scooped up her art kit and dragonhide gloves. She put the gloves in her kit and went to go get a quick lunch.
After she ate her lunch she walked out with her Art kit. "Now if I remeber right there are some around here." she said getting her gloves out and putting them on crouching down and moving some thorns out of her way. "Under a Thorniy Boush, or Tree Roots...." she mutterd to herslf as she serched for a nest
Arona was releaved to see the sun this moring insted of another day of rain. "At least the rain has stoped." she said. She could tell that alot of people where plaing to go out once the they had finshed their classes.
She and the other Gryffindors finshed their classes the same time as the Slythern, first years. One of the classes the two houses had together. She didn't mind too much seeing as she could actuly work on her lessen. Once the class itself was done There was a mass of Slytherins and Gryffindors trying to get out. She rolled her eyes and wated a bit till it thind out.
She walked along the halls briskly to the Gryffindor Dorm and up to her bunk. She droped the books and things for the class in her tunk with a thuding nose. "What a day... she said. Going back down to the Common Room. She thought the teachers would find it odd if she stayed inside. So of corse she went down the meny stars going along to the nearest exet to her Dorm.

Dorian emerged from the castle with a bright smile on his face. Such beautiful weather! Ahh...He breathed in a long breath of the clean slightly cool air and exhaled loudly. "Definitely a perfect day to climb trees!" He chortled and made a run for one of the nearest trees.
He made a flying leap and was able to grip a lower branch with his hands and hefted himself up on to the branch. He sat there for a moment staring out on the games the other students were playing. It looked like fun, but Dorian didn't feel like intruding or trying to get in on the games. Maybe he'd do that later on.
He turned glanced up the tree to see if it was a good one for climbing. The branches above weren't too far away and they were spaced like a clawed hand reaching to the sky. Not too bad for climbing. Dorian stood up, steadied himself against the trunk and then began to climb upward careful not to slip on the wet moss that covered the tree.
Soon he was up a good ten feet in the tree and found the perfect spot to recline. He settled in the crook of where two branches met and leaned back cautiously. The branch behind him moved slightly but held him up much to his relief. He gazed up at the clouds that were being blown across the bright sky and took in some long deep breaths.
"What a perfect day indeed." he told himself with a happy grin. "I could sit up here all day if I wanted."
Dorian was so enthralled with watching the clouds and enjoying the brisk air that he didn't hear or notice the girl that was underneath him digging away at the roots of the tree. Even if he had noticed he probably wouldn't have thought anything about it, though at his angle he was pretty much reclining straight over her. If the wind were to shift and push him out of the tree he would be coming down straight on her.

Clover had found what it was she was looking for and pulled out some branch ties out of her art kit beause she had been looking for this for a few days now, even with the rain.
She tied the branches back away from the nest. "How lucky can I get today? A good sunny day, and I found the nest and it even has a few eggs in it." she said as she finshed tiying the last of the ties.
She took off the gloves and pulled out her pad of paper and pencel case of diffrent graffite tipes. She didn't know about the boy up in the tree above her nor did she look up at all to look at the sky. She was too exsited about seeing this nest. She then started to draw it.
Arona exited the castle and looked around. She didn't know what to do exsactly. She just sort of walked in a random derection as she glanced about.
As Arona walked she saw a girl over by a tree and looking at a bush. "I wonder what it is she's doing... Well I got nothing better to do." she stated with a shrug and started walking closser to the girl somewhat wondering why she was so fastnated by the thornbush.
When she got closer she saw the boy up in the tree. Derectly above the girl, Almost like he was going to prank the unspspecting girl below. She started to run. "HAY!" she yelled up at him.
Clover jumped when she heard the yell and looked over at the girl a little upset that she had to erace a line now.

Dorian was resting peacefully in his perch, his eyes slowly fluttering closed every few seconds. He hadn't thought that he needed any sleep as he had been pretty wired by the chance to get outdoors, but now with the intake of the slightly cool breeze and the warmth of the sun on him he was starting to doze off.
He was suddenly startled by a shout from below which caused him to jerk in alarm. The jerk made him slip to one side and nearly fall out of his perch. Dorian cursed in french, grabbed for a branch to stop his fall and somehow lodged a foot in the crook while he gripped the branch with his two hands. Now if he could only swing his other leg up he'd be able to keep from falling from the ten foot height.
He glanced around and was rather stunned and alarmed to see an unsuspecting girl sitting right underneath him. "Merde!" He exclaimed in horror, if he fell he'd fall right on top of her. "Hey, you down there move! You'll get squashed!" He screamed as loudly as he could as he struggled to get back up in the tree.
Fate was not it's kindest, for the next moment his fingers slipped and he plummeted from the sky down on top of the girl with a loud thump. His shoulder hit her backside and then he rolled off of her with a loud moan.

Clover heard the yell from above had no chose but to pertect the nest and crouched over it getting cut in the prosses. "Damb I can't just let them get crushed." she said glad to have the strangth to keep him from hutting the nest even if she got hurt in the prosses. She just had to wate for the inpact.
Arona stoped without meeing to when she saw him fall. "Oups." she said with a sweat drop and started to run at the two of them again but wasn't there in time to stop him from hitting her. "Oh man are you two alright?" she asked consernd. "I didn't exspect you to fall from the tree..." she said feeling regreat about what she did.

For several moments Dorian couldn't breath and everything went black. Then thankfully his eyesight came back and he saw a girl staring down at him with concern in her emerald eyes. Was she the person who had screamed and made him fall?
"I think so," Dorian replied and winced when he tried to move. "Oh no, are you okay?" He asked turning to look at the girl he had fallen on. It looked oddly like she was curled around something as though to protect it. "Oh Merde!" He exclaimed when he turned his neck. It felt like it was on fire. And his left arm didn't feel very good either. The entire left side of his torso felt like a gigantic bruise and he had no doubt that he would get a major bruise from his fall. At least there wasn't anything worse, and God knew that from a fall like that he could have broken his neck or worse.
"I didn't hurt you that badly did I?" He asked again.

Clover back hurt like she'd been steped on by a cow. It defently nocked the wind out of her and she gasped the air back up. She didn't even hear the question the first time as she opend her eyes to look at the nest unharmed. "They're alright." she said relaeved.
She moved her hands from the sharp thorns and dirt, bleeding because she didn't have time to get the protective glove. She didn't even relise that her face was cut slightly eather. As she sat up though she did hear the question the second time. "Yeah I'm fine." She said with a smile
Then she glared at the Gryffindor. "WHAT THE BLOODY HELL WHERE YOU THINKING?!?!" She demanded.
Arona was a bit releaved that they both where alive but then stumbled over bewillederd when the Hufflepuff yelled at her. "I'm sorry ok... I thought he was going to try to pull a prank on you... he was derectkly above you and all... and I didn't think he'd fall from the tree. I'm really varry sorry," she said not knowing how to take a Hufflepuff getting all upset.

Dorian wasn't sure if he heard the kneeling girl right or not. They? He waited a moment gathering his breath and trying to compose himself before asking. He could see that her hands were cut and bleeding from the thorns they had been on top of. And it looked like she had a small cut on the side of her face. He winced and searched his pockets for a handkerchief. He brought it out and asked, "They? What were you protecting?" He was curious to know what it was that she hadn't wanted him to fall on.
"Here, you have a cut on your face," Dorian said handing her the handkerchief and winced when he saw that there were a few thorns stuck in the palms of her hands. "Well you're bleeding so you're far from fine." He added, "Sorry for falling on you. Maybe I shouldn't have gone up so high." He winced when she turned to yell at the Gryffindor girl.
"Me? Pull a prank? No, I was merely resting up there. Probably not the smartest thing to do. It's only half your fault really; I shouldn't have gone up so high. You may have startled me but you didn't make me lose my grip." He said rubbing his shoulder. "I think we should head to the infirmary just to be on the safe side. You have some nasty cuts and my whole left side is pretty much in pain."

Clover looked back at the Slytherin. "I'm fine, as to what it was I was protecting, there's a nest here, that has a few eggs in it. I saw the animal that nests in thorn bushes to pertect the eggs from predtors... I was drawing it." She said looking at the art pad and kit. "I didn't have time to get my gloves back on"
She looked back at the Gryffindor Girl, "You'll have to take the ties off the thorn bush, And get my kit" It wasn't a request but a demand, "Seeing as I don't want to get blood on my art saplise."
She pushed herself up to her feet wincing a little "Ok that fall did a little more damige to my back then I thought." she said more to herself.
Arona got back up right "Yeah I'm sorry, and I gess I shouldn't have asumed that you where going to pull a prank but, at the same time you where right above her." She said completly embarsed.
She then looked at the the art kit and sighed "Yeah it's the least I can do... I didn't get hurt after all, The name's Arona Nightingale by the way." she said puting on the Hufflepuff's Dragonhide gloves. "The two of you should get to the Medical wings to get looked at... I'll be up when I finsh this." she added not knowing why the Hufflepuff was so consernd about the nest.

"Well then it's good that you were protecting it. I'd feel terrible if I had crushed them." Dorian told her and then peaked over at her art pad. On the paper was a very light sketch of the nest with the eggs nestled inside. It was rather good Dorian thought. He would never have been able to draw that well.
"Looks good," Dorian told her. "sorry about your hands. They have to hurt pretty badly." He said with a wince.
Dorian pushed himself to his knees and slowly got to his feet and reached for Clover. "I think that if we lean on each other we'll be able to make it easily enough."
Dorian eyed Arona closely for a moment as she apologized. "I didn't even see her so I had no clue she was down there. It's possible she was there before I climbed up but I'm not sure. Also, I'm not the type to pull a prank on someone that doesn't deserve it." He added with a smile.
"We'll do that, thanks for the help." Dorian told Arona and then turned to Clover and offered her his right arm. "Can you move on your own or do you need some help?"

"Yeah, It's not something we humans should be killing, seeing as it's something that is wild and only lays it eggs once every fiffty years or so.." she said holding up her arms so to better look at the cuts on them then she heard his coment on the start of the drawing "Thanks it's not finshed but it's a start and but I got the just of it down that I can work it a little more."
"Well considering that it cut me pritty badly they are extremly sharp thorns." she stated looking back at her arms. "I'm a bit of a farm girl so I can handle pain alright. She said with a smerk looking over at Dorian.
Arona looked at him "Oh I see, then I really goofed up." she said when she heard that he didn't even know that the hufflepuff girl was there.
Clover nodded "I can move alright, I haven't been to the medical wing since coming here though. she said as she walked a little next to him. "The name's Clover, by the way." she added grimising a bit.

"Wow, only every fifty years? How does the species survive if it's that long in between birthing?" Dorian wondered, rather glad that he hadn't squashed the nest and interrupted the cycle of life for the creature. "I bet it will look amazing when you finish." he told her with a grin.
Dorian was rather glad that she was tougher than she looked, so many girls it seemed were terrible with pain and dealing with it. He was constantly hearing girls cry over broken nails and messed up hair, so it was nice to find a girl that wasn't so girly. "Well that's good," He told her with an appreciative look. "I bet the nurse will be able to fix us up pretty fast."
"It's okay, there wasn't that much harm done." he assured Arona, though he was a bit wary of her now. Who went around looking and assuming the worst of people? At least she had apologized to him for thinking of him in such a negative light. "I'm sure I can figure something for you to do to make it up to me." He had meant to say it in a teasing manner but he was in so much pain that it came out more sharply than he had intended.
He was relieved when the girl he had landed on told him she could walk there on her own power. He had offered to help when he had thought the pain wasn't so bad, but now his left side was almost killing him. "Well I think I know where it is, you may have to help me a bit, I can barely stand now." he told her with a groan as he tried to stay upright. "I'm Dorian. I'm glad we got to meet, though not in the way we met." He added.

Clover nodded "Yeah, It's not a normal thing, well for most. she said with a chuckle that she wished she hadn't done. "I'll let you look at the other's once we're heald up." she added.
Clover nodded "Yeah the cut's will be the easyest with magic on our side, the bones might be a little tugher." she said she was releved that he didn't do to bad of damge to her back. "You'll have to lean on me and be the hands since it be a bad idea to get everything bloody." she added with a smile.
Arona chuckled a little uneasy, "I gess I deserve that." she said then looked at the nest, "An animal that births every fifty years, and in a extrstemy thorny bush." she shook her head as she took off the ties. It was like the animal was over cautions if you asked her. It seemed stupid but she was already on Clover's bad side for putting the nest in danger unintechialy. So said nothing about it as the two of them walked tord the castle.

"That's true, I've read that dragons wait years and years to mate because it takes time for them to mature to the right age. Maybe that's the same thing with this creature." Dorian mused, " Awesome, I can't wait to see more of your pictures." he said eagerly.
"Oh great," Dorian said making a face at the thought of what the nurse might make him take. "I hope the nurse doesn't make me take any Skele-gro for my ribs. That stuff tastes nasty! And that's from the memory of me at four." He added. "I'm still surprised that your back isn't any worse. I did pretty much land on it with all my force."
Dorian couldn't help but give her an appreciative look, as he leaned half on her as they slowly made their way back to the castle. It was rather unfortunate that the nice day had been interrupted by a bad spill, but he was glad that he had met Clover. He still wasn't too sure about Arona just yet, but he figured he should give her a second chance before judging her.
Dorian caught Arona's chuckle and words. "Sorry about the snapping, it was the pain that was talking. I didn't mean it that way at all." He found himself apologizing to her. "You are going to come right?"
