Hi! I've been looking through all this stuff and noticed that there really isn't anything on Airforce...
Now being a life long Airforce brat...I thought I'd just post some things that ACTUALLY happen on an Airforce base. (This is from expriance)
1) While you're out side trying to have a converstation with your neighbor, it is perfectly normal to have a jet fly over you're neighbor hood and interupt you.
2) Sometimes a the end of a work day while you are out at the Shoppet getting some food and you walk out side and get to you car and you hear the national anthem being played, dont freak when everyone stops, salutes, and stands there for about 6 mins in the rain.
3) The cars will even stop!
4)On you're way to school, you will see WHOLE squadrens running about, this is called PT. ^^
5) Dont plan on taking an afternoon nap. Unless you've been living on the base for a long time. 12:00 is kinda loud.
6) Airmen CONSTALY get drunk. One guy climbed to the top of a roof and walked around at 6 in the morning...
7) Bar fights...Everyone thinks their better sometimes
cool There are MPs EVERYWHERE! So dont try anything stupid.
9) All the houses look the same. white..white...white..white..white...white...
10)At the begianing of EVERY movie at the theater..YOu have to stand..

Well of /course/ everyone stops for the national antheme and taps!! I was practicing the national antheme before one of our Major's retirement ceremony a couple weeks ago and two guys who were walking by outside the room I was practicing in started standing at attention (we were inside). It was just so funny.

It was just so funny. They have to. Any member of the United States Armed Forces must render honors (e.g. salute outdoors, or stand at attention indoors) whenever anyone plays the national anthem, regardless of whether or not they're in uniform. (Though when not in uniform, it is acceptable merely to stand at attention, inside or out.)

I know they do, but we were just praciticing and everyone was getting ready for the retirement, and we were in a different room. It was just an amusing situation; eventually one of the other Majors told them just to ignore it, cuz they needed help and couldn't have the entire room stopping every 30 seconds to stand at attention.

When I'm 18, I'm going to join either the Navy or the Airforce. I'm leaning torwords the airforce. I want to train and be a pilot... especailly for the F 15 and I've always wanted to pilot one. I also know a few of the basic rules of dogfighting. 1. Always stay on the enemy's six or it's behind. 2. Always attack from the sun. 3. Try to attack above the enemy if possible. 4. Always follow the enemy's stance and path when behind. 5. When in pursuit, pick up as much speed as possible and dive down then imediatly climb up and stay straight until enemy stalls then follow.

As for life on an Air Base...its similar to when my dad was in the Navy. Ofcourse we lived near NAS's (Naval Air Stations). It fun and you get use enough with the planes flying over that you can sleep through it like a baby.

[Hollow point] no offense, but my cousin said MPs dont do much. what do you guys do? Once again there re no MP's in the Air Force. There is SF or known as Security Forces. MP's in the Army do a lot. Maybe not so much, but they're very important nonetheless. Security Forces in the Air Force are also very important too. I think the 820th and I believe the 487th?? are VERY rapid deployment.
