User ImageWhile being away from home for this long wasn’t particularly fun, it did bring some interesting interactions with it. Nesrin, though not having successfully acquired a banu yet, had found that he has met some interesting individuals. Though he had to admit, that seer leopon girl still stuck in his head. He wished he could have brought her back with him. But no use reflecting on the past! Nesrin just had to try harder next time! Maybe if he got a smaller species, like a cheetah it would be easier to handle…or something. But he knew he couldn’t go home empty handed!

So now as he wandered he brought into question, what to do next? Maybe he just wasn’t equipped to capture a female, he was just too nice a guy to bring someone against their will back home…and well…what girl would WANT to basically be a servant of males in his home pride. Thinking about it…it wasn’t a great situation for the females. But well..his mom seemed happy enough…so it couldn’t always be bad right? He wouldn’t be bad like some males were at least…his father taught him well, he wouldn’t want to abuse a girl, that just wasn’t nice! But that must be his problem, he’s just too nice. He never stands up when he needs to. Maybe he should just quit…and join another pride. How could he bring himself to go back home empty handed…how…

User ImageNestled among the branches of the trees, Jinimsitu tiny, dappled frame seemed nothing more than another shadow. Even though she was almost a teenager she had not grown much from her juvenile size. She was even smaller than most cheetahs her age. While other cats her age found it difficult to reach high into the trees she still felt perfectly at home among the branches, an odd place for a cub who was half-cheetah. This secretive lifestyle suited her well, for she was so tiny that many would have found it all too easy to take advantage of or even kill her. Yet Jini was no worse off for the ups and downs of her crazy, lonely life; she accepted the good with the bad and lived day by day.

The branch wobbled as she stood and gazed over her shoulder at a strange shape approaching her tree. As the shape came closer she realized that it was neither a leopard nor a lion but some strange combination of the two. Although she was a hybrid herself, she had no idea that others like her existed. Before the other could spot her she called out, "Hello! Are you a hybrid?"

Even when she called out to him her body was almost invisible amid the branches of the tree. Indeed without her camouflage she might not have survived in the rogue lands without the care of her parents, whom she had lost long ago. Her brother and sister were the only two hybrids she ever knew existed. This new hybrid was clearly of a different kind than her - far too large to have cheetah in him - yet despite his size, there was something familiar and comforting about the flower patterns around his face that convinced her he would do no harm.

Nesrin jumped a little as a small shape suddenly jumped from the trees. Who…what was that!? He was taken a back a bit by the sudden friendliness of this stranger, but he then grinned. Seemed female, and was of the feline persuasion…maybe he could take her back! She seemed small enough that he shouldn’t have much trouble…He smiled at her and his tail wagged a bit.

Hello Miss. Nice to meet you.” he said with a smile. He had to approach this just right…he wanted her to come willingly..he felt bad if he had to drag a female home…though with how hard it was it seemed like that was his only choice at this point..

I am a hybrid! My father is a lion and my mother is a leopard!” he said excitedly. That was probably the first time he ever sounded ‘excited’ about being a half breed. Normally he just felt ashamed. Though being around another hybrid, maybe that was why he seemed more accepting of it. Looking at her build, she couldn’t be the same type of hybrid as him right? She was very small…maybe she was part leopard and cheetah? He and his littermates were smaller then the average lion because leopards were smaller then lions. And cheetah were the smallest of the three. Plus she had a different, swifter build to her. So she must be part cheetah! He was going to guess leota for now and hope he was right. “You look very cute miss! I don’t meet other hybrids often!” though lately he seemed to be, he met that lovely lion leopard mix like him just the other day!

Do you live near here? Where is your family?’ if she lived on her own that would make this easier…just had to convince her to come with him. And she seemed interested enough that he was a hybrid, so maybe that could help!

"Oh!" She stepped back bashfully, her cheeks red hot. This was the first time anyone ever called her cute. At least, it was the first time that she could remember. She didn't know what to make of it. While she liked the compliment something about it made her uncomfortable, too. Normally strangers weren't so eager to talk to her.

She looked up at him blankly. The question about family seemed to come out of nowhere and that also made her nervous. "They're around..." she softly lied. "We travel. We're staying around this area for now so I was just taking a look around, seeing what there is to see. My mother is a cheetah and my father is a leopard."

The truth was that she had no idea where her parents were or even their names. While she vaguely remembered their faces and pelts everything else was lost to her. All she knew was that they were separated one night and she never found them again. Since her memories were so poor she didn't miss them as much as she believed she should, so her voice did not shake when she said they were still around. Even though she barely remembered them something about the strange hybrid reminded her of her father. Or maybe it was her mother? She wasn't sure. In spite of her apprehension, there was something undeniably fascinating about him. "What's your name? Do you live on these lands?"

Nesrin was very nervous himself, but he did his best to hide it. He was just so scared he would screw this up! He had to do it just right…he didn’t want to make her upset…but he still wanted to bring her back with him. “Oh well that’s good!” …no it wasn’t. Nesrin had responded to her comment about her family. If she didn’t have any family convincing her would be easier. “I have siblings back at home. They are hybrids as well. And I have some cheetah lion hybrid siblings to. And I think there’s a cheetah leopard girl in the pride…but I never met her. But I heard there was one.” maybe hearing of more hybrids would make her curious to see his home! Yes! This must work!

My name is Nesrin. And no, I live a bit aways. My pride is very large, as is my family. I have lots of mothers and siblings.” he said, smiling. He enjoyed talking about his family, but he still missed them dearly. “My mom is my father’s only leopard mate.” then he realized…maybe he said too much! What if knowing he had more then one ‘mother’ scared her away? Stupid! Stupid!
