Welcome to our Ostara/Mabon celebration! We haven't had time to make a very big party this time, but we hope you'll still enjoy it smile

For this event we're raffling off some very special prizes!

1st Prize - Sapphire Plume
2nd Prize - 8,000
3rd Prize - 4,000
Everyone who doesn't win a raffle prize will get 200 gaia gold.

To be entered in the raffle you must post something sabbat related in THIS thread. It can be a Ostara/Mabon ritual, spell, craft, recipe...The list goes on! So post away. Though you can only be entered into the raffle once.

You can find the Party in the Moonlight Market. Just look for all of the threads titled [Party].

Blessed Ostara, and to those in the Southern Hemisphere, Blessed Mabon.

Tomorrow I plan on doing an Esbat under the Full Moon to purify and bless a journal and to purify and direct energy into a stone.
Sunday, my coven is holding an Ostara ritual and the woman planning it will be conducting it will be holding a Re-Birth rite. It sounds like a beautiful rite and I can't wait.

Ah, the time of the snow melting and the rain and life beginning anew ^-^ smells kinda funny when it's the Ginko trees, but hey >.> also, tis the time of new robots and competitions and such 3nodding yep, this time sure is busy o3o blessed time to ye :B

I will be germinating seeds Monday for Ostara. I also will be planting an egg to shield my home from negative energies. Long story, and only tradition I have so far.

I intend on making Spice Cakes and coloring eggs for Ostara. Last night I drew a Circle in honor of Ostara.

Happy Ostara everyone!!! OMG I have missed this guild so much!

For Ostara I kinda wanna make these bird nest cupcakes, they look super cute smile

Ingredients

* 1 1/2 cups shredded coconut (about 5 ounces)
* Vanilla Cupcakes
* Chocolate Buttercream
* Yellow and light-blue food coloring

Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spread coconut on a rimmed baking sheet; bake until light brown, 8 to 10 minutes, rotating pan once. Set aside to cool.
2. Lightly frost cupcakes with 1 cup chocolate buttercream; set aside. Tint 2 tablespoons reserved buttercream pale yellow; place in a pastry bag fitted with a #349 Ateco leaf tip; set aside. Tint remaining buttercream light blue; place in a pastry bag fitted with a #11 Ateco plain round tip, and pipe three bluebird heads, 3/4 inch in diameter, onto each cupcake. Using leaf tip, pipe yellow beaks. With a toothpick, add melted-chocolate eyes. Form each nest with 2 tablespoons toasted coconut.

Surprise lemon bread:

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 45 minutes
Total Time: 65 minutes
Ingredients:

* 1 package Lemon Poppy Seed Bread mix
* Ingredients to prepare mix as directed
* 1/2 C golden raisins
* 1 Tbsp orange zest
* 1/2 C dried cranberries
* Non-meltable goodies to add into the bread, such as:
* A shiny coin
* A piece of gold or silver jewelry
* A ring
* A polished crystal
* Vanilla ice cream

Preparation:

Prepare the bread mix as directed. Once it's all mixed together, add in the golden raisins, the orange zest, and the cranberries. Finally, fold in a few small treasures, such as a ring, a cleaned coin, or a polished crystal. Be sure you select items that won't melt when you bake it in the oven!

Bake as directed on the package, and then remove from oven. Allow to cool. To serve, slice off pieces, keeping an eye out for the hidden treasures. Top each slice off with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

This dessert bread can be used as a snack or appetizer, or you can incorporate it into your Cakes and Ale ceremony, if you include that as part of your Ostara rituals.

Hot Cross Buns recipe

Ingredients

3/4 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon instant powdered milk
1/4 cup white sugar
3/8 teaspoon salt
1 egg
1 egg white
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
3/4 cup dried currants
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons water
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons milk
Directions

Put warm water, butter, skim milk powder, 1/4 cup sugar, salt, egg, egg white, flour, and yeast in bread maker and start on dough program.
When 5 minutes of kneading are left, add currants and cinnamon. Leave in machine till double.
Punch down on floured surface, cover, and let rest 10 minutes.
Shape into 12 balls and place in a greased 9 x 12 inch pan. Cover and let rise in a warm place till double, about 35-40 minutes.
Mix egg yolk and 2 tablespoons water. Brush on balls.
Bake at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for 20 minutes. Remove from pan immediately and cool on wire rack.
To make crosses: mix together confectioners' sugar, vanilla, and milk. Brush an X on each cooled bun.

The "X" on the buns help keep evil spirits away~
Although they are associated mostly with easter i cant see why not associate them with Ostara too~

On Ostara this year i went outside with my small "pocket" altar, lit some incense and gave an offering of a hot cross bun. later on that day i went down to the local stream and fed the ducks just as i always do on the sabbats. this years Ostara was a very beautiful experience for me~
