Biography:

0-5
Basically, mom's a hobag, dad's an undercover cop. Or something. Or maybe just a cop.
From the very beginning, Cassie's story has been an interesting one. Her mother, Sarah, was the school hobag in her day, and Nick, her father, was unfortunate (or fortunate, depending on how you look at it) enough to sleep with her just once.

Once was enough, though. Sarah got pregnant by him and dropped out, never telling Nick that he was a father-to-be. However, of course, Cassie was eventually born. Sarah couldn't stand the idea of being a mother, but she couldn't stand the idea of aborting her daughter, either. So, one hot August afternoon, she tracked down Nick's address and dumped Cassie on his doorstep, leaving her with a note that included her name (Nick's always thought it was unfair that Sarah got to name her and then just left her - he knows that Cassie thinks her name is rather ridiculous) and a necklace, that's all. Cassie never saw her mother again.

That was okay, though. Nick, too, dropped out of school to raise his daughter, moving out of his parent's home at sixteen and bringing Cassie with him. He devoted all his time to her, but of course, he needed a job; he's been living off his mother for too long. He had a friend on the police force, and using that connection, he quickly got a job there.

Soon, the stress got to be too much.

At this point, Cassie was about four, and she spent the time her father was at work with friends of his; they watched her and helped raised her when her father couldn't. Cassie spent less and less time with her father when he started making friends with what most people would consider 'bad' people; they used him. Cas spent more and more time away from the house, especially when her father would come home pissing drunk.

6-10
Starts acting out. Enter Echo. Yey happy family for a while.
However, Cassie put her foot down when she was six. Her father needed help, and he wasn't getting it there. She quickly manipulated the situation so that she was home when he was, and she started to take care of him, slowly but surely. She put him to bed, then went about getting rid of all the alcohol in the house, knowing instinctively that was the problem. She taught herself to cook for both herself and her father (he was in no mood to do it when he had a hangover the size of Europe).

But, eventually, Nick couldn't ignore it any more - he wasn't being a good father, or a good person. He slowly waned himself off the alcohol, for Cassie's sake. However, the lack of alcohol reminded him why he was drinking in the first place - he couldn't take his head, what he knew and couldn't tell anybody. He asked for an immediate removal from the Police Force, which the Force granted. The same friend who got him the job in the first place got him a therapist, and things slowly got back to normal--Nick knew he owed so much to his own therapist that he wanted to do the same for other people some day.

Much to Nick's relief, Cassie dealt rather well with the whole thing. She didn't ask questions, she didn't push it, she just helped in whatever way she could. She insisted on family movie nights, making sure that he didn't get too lost in his head anymore. She also named the boat he bought when she was seven - The Andromeda, and she enjoyed the time they spent on it together.

Things changed for the better when Nick met Echo. It was a completely random meeting, but it changed the lives of everyone concerned. He fell for her, she fell for him. They were happy. He eventually got her to move in with him, and for the first time, Cassie knew what it was like to be part of a real family. Echo had a son, Toby, and Cas made fast friends with him. Echo also brought with her three dogs, and that just made Cassie like her even more: she'd always wanted a pet, but for one reason or another, it was never the right time to get one. Although Cassie was initially protective of her father, she quickly let her guard down when she realized just how much the two loved each other. Toby made the transition easier - she'd never had a friend just for her, let alone a brother. She loves him very much, and is still very, very protective of him.

Nick and Echo were married when Cassie was ten. They were married on the deck of a boat (not The Andromeda, which was Cassie's idea), in the middle of a two-week cruise. It's one of Cassie's best memories, and she'd never seen her father happier.

12-17 Goes back to acting out (maybe divorce or something). Stealing s**t on occasion. Got her pokemon in hopes it would even her out. Made her happy, but still mostly a troubled kid, but she at least had a real friend of her own.
Cassie started a bit later on her Pokemon adventure than most of the other children did--instead of receiving her starter Pokemon when she was 10, she received her Oshawatt, Shin, when she was 12. Cassie doesn't know why, but she doesn't waste energy thinking about it.

Her real adventure didn't begin until she was 17, though; Cassie never spent much time formally training Shin, which accounts for his low level (and his low-level-ish behavior). When she was 16 going on 17, she met a boy, and not just any boy. To her, it was The Boy, the one who swept her off her feet and made her deliriously happy.

Well, turns out he was a member of Team Rocket, which he only confessed after he'd robbed four houses of their Pokemon in one night and she had stumbled upon the Pokeballs. They got in a huge fight, and Cassie thought they were over...

Until he said Those Three Words. Nobody save her family had ever said that to her, and it was enough to keep her dangling off his hook for a little while longer--long enough for him to convince her that Team Rocket was the real place she belonged.

What certainly helped his case was the fact that the police--the organization which had driven her father to drinking and basically destroyed her childhood--were breathing down her neck for information. She gave them nothing, and within a year and half she was an official member of Team Rocket.

What happened to her boyfriend, you ask? Well, he dumped her when she still wouldn't sleep with him.

Overall Personality

Protective
Cassie is incredibly protective of...almost everybody, even people she doesn't know, and her family more so. It's partially a learned behavior and partially inherited, but she doesn't care how she ended up like this. All she knows is if you mess with your family, you'll be getting your teeth knocked in. So don't, kay?

Nice: Or at least comes off that way. Has a rather disarming personality--you won't even notice her sneaking into your back pocket for your wallet.
Cassiopeia is, as a whole, one of the nicest people you'll meet. She's not very Rocket-ish in this way, but she doesn't mind. She'll always stop to help somebody in her 'family' (i.e another Rocket) and won't leave until they don't need her help anymore, no matter how long that takes. She's the first to talk to the new kid and show them around, always trying to make people feel comfortable.

Loyal
Once Cas is on your side, you've got her for life; in fact, the prospect of leaving someone she's loyal to terrifies her. When she's on your side, you've got everything you need - a protector, a best friend, a secret-keeper, a shoulder to cry on...anything you need, Cassie will do her best to provide.

Perceptive
Growing up with a drunk and then a therapist, Cassie's inherited some know-how. She can almost always tell when something's bothering a person, and she can almost always tell if the person's lying. Just one of the many perks of being raised by someone who hears people's problems for a living. Eyeroll.

Knowledgeable
Generally, Cassie's sort of invisible, which works well in that people will talk about stuff they normally wouldn't if they realized someone else was around. It's not that Cassie purposefully tries to hear people's secrets, because she doesn't. She just accidentally hears them. This has led to her knowing more about people than they'd generally be comfortable with, but she doesn't really care about that. Not like she's ever gonna do anything with the information, yea?

Tomboyish
Cassie was raised by her father up until she was about nine, and while he wasn't exactly big buff-and-tough guy, he was still a guy, and he didn't really enjoy the prospect of a day of shopping (not that he wouldn't have done it for her, if she so desired). As such, Cassie is much more in tune with her masculine side than her feminine; you're more likely to find her screaming her lungs out in the Pitch stands than painting her nails (though since Echo came along, she's been doing more of the latter). The only way she really expresses her femininity is through her plethora of jewelry (not to mention, it comes in handy to have a fake diamond on your finger when you punch a guy. Hurts a lot more, she's learned).

Good girl, after a fashion: Maybe not. Need to revisit this.
Cassie's perfectly willing to let the other kids be stupid and get in trouble and whatnot, but the one thing she can't stand is adults ignoring the kids when they need to be not-ignored, i.e when there's a fight and there aren't any teachers around. She's had a problem for a few years now about butting in and trying to stop it herself instead of getting a boss; at least, that's what everyone who's ever had authority has ever told her. She sees it as her responsibility to keep people from being completely stupid; besides, in the time it would take to fetch a teacher, get them to believe her, and then have them come back and stop it? The people would probably be all bloody and broken by then. If it needs to be stopped, it needs to be stopped, and Cassie's generally the one to stop it. This has led to multiple black eyes and bruises over the years, but if it means that somebody else managed to not get black eyes and bruises, then it's okay in her book.
Note: The exception to this being Pokemon battles, of course.

Responsible
If there's one thing her father taught her over the years, it's that things need to get done, and they need to be done when they need to be done. So, now that she's at school, she's the first to turn in her homework and get it all right, and she's usually in the library studying. People say she needs to lighten up, or be more like her aunt and uncle, but she doesn't really care. She's happy with who she is.

Loud, sort of
This generally only applies to people she knows and trusts, because only then does she loosen up. She can be just as much of a prankster and a goofball as her step-family when she wants to be, but she generally chooses to be more like her father than them, which means quiet and calm. People say she needs to let her hair down sometimes, but what they don't know is that she does, sometimes. Ask Toby.

Cassie's Pokemon

User Image

Shin was her very first pokemon. He's a water type and has grown up a little lacksidasical, like his owner, but could definitely be trained up even at this late stage.

User Image

Conundrum is an easily confused Lampent, and in spite of his name and the tendencies of his breed, he is usually quite happy and affectionate.

Powers/moves/levels of all to come whoops <_<; Also find James' cert.
