What's scary is that Tokyo is used to having earthquakes, and the tower has lasted until now...it's also slightly taller then the Eiffel tower, but is 2nd in Japan to the Sky Tree tower. I don't know how that's doing at this point. :C

That's good to know, the main building was only finished last year in 2010, it looks like a lot of sky scrapers managed to scrape by mostly undamaged since they're built to resist Earthquakes. A lot of homes seem to be completely gone D:

And apparently there are people out there waiting to surf on it. stare
If I was a surfer, I would NOT willingly, knowingly surf on the same wave that I knew was killing 60+ people across the planet. I'm sorry, but that's completely disrespectful to the people who are being made homeless, jobless, and KILLED in this natural disaster.
Never mind the inherent dangers to yourself in the first place.

Surfers are crazy anyway because they're in very real damage of getting attacked by sharks by swimming in the water anyway. sweatdrop
Back on the quake, apparently Hawaii is escaping the waves, there's some rough surf but nothing abnormally high or flooding, which is at least a little comforting.

At last report: 6 foot high wave, and only one mile inland in Hawaii.
There's a member in another guild I'm in who says she is in Hawaii. She wasn't expecting an earthquake at the time she last posted. She's logged off now, but I hope she's safe. I'm praying for her and her family as well.

According to the news Hawaii is normal right now, so it looks like they're out of the danger zone, but, they just informed me of potential 300 (unconfirmed) dead floating in the water. emo

Yes, that's off the coast of Japan.
TS Sailor Cronus Reports in the news of over 300 bodies floating off-shore. There were also buildings still shaking 30 minutes after the quakes and aftershocks died down. I've been watching the footage. Man, it's alarming to watch two buildings standing against each other, and both of them give at least six inches one direction, then the other, then back again.

There is now a giant whirlpool created by the tsunami and the fissures deep underwater. This is a common occurence during tsunamis, and it is possible to last for many hours. I saw a video of a ship being tugged along in it... it's simply MASSIVE.

Also, there is an entire passenger train MISSING. It was in the path of the tsunami, and they simply can't find it.

Confirmed several hundred dead, several boats and trains are missing, and there's a state of emergency around one of the nuclear power plants that's having problems cooling. Over 2800 people were evacuated from around the plant.
It really looks like hell on earth, I can't help but keep thinking of thinks like Katrina and 9/11/01 and Haiti and other horrible things like that. crying
That whirlpool is HU~GE!
