User Image Away. That was what Saraneth was after. She needed to get away from Ulrika, she needed to get away from Bryjna, she needed to get away from Mær, she needed away from it all. Following the starts in the night sky, Saraneth found herself far from pride lands. The familiar scent of Stormborn had faded heavily and the rogue stank was all about. She rubbed her nose momentarily, hoping her own scent would help make everything else more bearable.

"It wreaks out here. The stink of Thrall," She murmured quietly, scanning the darkness around her, almost invisible with her dark pelt and darker eyes. The whites must have glowed like stars on the ground, the only thing on her not so dark or earthly toned.

"The silence, though..." She sighed to herself, "It's like a forgotten lover to me. I have missed it..."

User ImageIn the chill of the night Grendel broke free from the grip of a terrible nightmare. Shuddering, he recalled the hellish faces of dozens of females from Antianeria, led by his vicious mother, who surrounded their camp and pulled them apart limb by limb in his dream. Somehow he could still smell their bitter scent on the air. The throws of this horrid dream woke Nadhir as well, but Grendel excused himself to go for a walk. He was desperately in need of fresh air.

But that bitter scent was here, too. That bitter, delicious scent which filled him with equal parts of loathing and desire. That female scent. As he walked the silhouette of a lioness walking against the starry sky appeared on the horizon. Grendel stopped walking and stared at the silhouette, watching her slowly walk between heaven and Earth. His lips pulled back, a growl forming in the pit of his stomach, yet the impulse to anger died before he could give it voice when he noticed that she was all alone.

Saraneth's silence was quickly disrupted when she heard the beginnings of a growl that quickly died off. She looked around and noticed the white mane of a male some distance from her. The stars reflected their white off his mane, tail and toes while his red eyes pierced through the darkness. It was haunting and beautiful, making her far too curious for her own good.

She decided to approach, slowly at her own leisure. She did not want to be mistaken for a threat. Being Stormborn, Saraneth was capable of handling herself, but this was an unknown male and could potentially be far too powerful in comparison. The last thing she wanted was death outside of battle or service to her pride.

"Greetings..." She said quietly, keeping her distance from him, but still within earshot. She had to remind herself this was not her pride, she could not greet him as if she would a Reaver. He might take it as a threat.

He stared at her in awkward silence and his eyes displayed a cool hatred. Females never made him feel this way before the rebellion. He remembered strutting through his pride as an adolescent, when it could still be called his pride, inspecting the females with conservativeness. Only the best for him. In those days he could afford to be picky. At times he still looked at females that way, but sometimes his heart burned with conflict he could not understand.

"Greetings..." he replied quietly, though his voice revealed a degree of uneasiness which echoed in his bristled fur. At times like this he would usually retreat into his shell, saying little. When he did speak he sounded like a stranger from a foreign land with foreign customs, yet there was still that cold anger burning through his red eyes.

"I apologize if I have startled you and yours," Saraneth said, dipping her head in a respectful and apologetic sense, "I was unaware there were others around."

Truthfully, she had been neglectful to check if there had been others around. She was thankful he did not out right attack her, otherwise she may have been in a predicament where getting out unharmed was improbable. It was unlike her to be so careless, but her want to get away from her Thrall and her Apprentice apparently clouded her judgement. She would not allow it to happen to her again.

There was a small stint of silence before she decided she should probably introduce herself, if anything an introduction would indicate some semblance of custom instead of being completely uncultured, "I am Saraneth, Priestess of the Myrsky Syntynyt and only daughter of the only daughter. Who may you be?"

The darkness of the night cloaked Grendel well, though his mane and toes would always stick out no matter of whether or not the moon or stars hung in the sky. White always caught some sort of light, bit his other coloring was hard for her to tell. She at one point thought she saw purple, but unless she was able to get quite close to him she would never be sure and he did not seem like the type to be accustomed to the closeness of a curious stranger.
