I'M BACK!!!

*crickets chirping*

Well, okay, fair enough...

Anyway, haven't been here for a life-age of men, it seems like. ^_^ I think I told myself that I wouldn't post here anymore until I had finally read the Silmarillion... Um, that took a while... sweatdrop I kept starting it and then putting it down, starting and putting it down, but then finally last week I grabbed it on a whim and *BAM*! I couldn't put it down. I just finished it today. biggrin

And MYGOD, that was a good book. o_o One thing that bothered me though, everyone I liked died! LOL! xd And not all of them had very dramatic deaths, even... Like, less than a paragraph for Maedhros! I was like "OMG, whut?!" eek I had to go back and read it again just to be sure! xd

Speaking of deaths, I'm in the process of illustrating the death of Beleg at the hands of poor little emo Turin. Does anybody have any suggestions of what kinda of clothing they might have worn? I'm really bad at designing armour and stuff. sweatdrop

Well, that's what's been goin' on. ^_^
I'm actually surprised to see that a lot of the old threads are still here! I can even go back and read stuff that I've said! *snicker* xd It amuses me to no end for some reason...

Er, anyway, that's my two cents. Good to be back! 3nodding

Welcome back! I love that book too, it's so tragic, yet very well made. I'm guessing the elves would have worn... robes... like they have for awhile. But don't quote me on that.

Congratulations, na vedui, and welcome back, Mistress_D!

Haha..."emo Turin." Wonderful. xd

Anyway, yes, it was (and so remains) a brilliant book; the beginning was pretty much, "Okay, so-and-so did this and is related to these people and this so-and-so tried to do this, but failed, and..." but the rest of it it absolutely...fantabulous. 3nodding (Deaths all around.... Meh. There was many a tear in my eye when I read The Silm. ...Not to mention a despise for the villanous characters, particularly Glaurung.)

I imagined the Elves and Humans wore various sorts of tunic-y things and breeches, with an abundance of cloak-wearing and the occasional chest armor, gauntlet, and heirloom helm, etc.

I always pictured the humans as wearing.... worse clothes than the elves. Because the humans weren't as rich or anything razz

Oh, of course the Humans didn't have as good quality and make of clothing as the Elves ( wink ); I simply referred to the two races wearing similar basic garments. (i.e. Many people wear collared shirts, but the shirts vary in color, style, and design.)

I always also envisioned the humans as wearing like... tunics mostly. The elves robes razz Is this a common interpretation of clothing? Or is it just me haha (j/w)
