This is kind of a debate question.. but anyways.
I would do all three.
ASPCA- I would like to raise an animal who has been abused.
Pound: Same reason
Store= I don't want to risk the dog being aggressive or something

Problem with store bought pets is you never know exactly what you're going to get, much like actually showing up at someone's house to purchase a pet. You may be alright with cats and dogs, but any other animal can be disastrous. For instance if you walk into Pet Smart, I've found nine times out of ten they have the species of turtles listed completely wrong. They can give you the basics of turtle care, but don't seem to realize that different species have very different care requirements. (Including how much water to put in your tank, the amount of space they need, etc.)
I'm not a fan of buying pets from stores in general though, I'd rather buy from qualified breeders if I'm not going to adopt from the SPCA or pound.

The ASPCA. I wouldn't care how scared they were, but making them feel comfortable and some sense of love would be the best.

I would either adopt from the ASPCA or the pound. I think animals need a second chance at life.

Meru Kaname I would either adopt from the ASPCA or the pound. I think animals need a second chance at life. Touche, because if the animals in the pound dont get adopted, then they get put down.. right?

Yes, and it breaks my heart just thinking about an animal being put down even though it didn't do anything wrong and didn't get adopted.

I think that animals that can be adopted, should be and should not be put down. If they're nice, won't bite, and aren't agressive. However, places like Humane Society's never put animals down no matter what. Some of the animals there practically live in those cages all their lives because they're entirely too agressive to be adopted. Animals like those I think should be put down.

I go for "free to good home" pets instead of paying hundreds of dollars for some purebred (re: inbred) animal.

Depends on the animal, truly. I think you should always try and adopt 1st if it is possible, but it isn't always. Sometimes a family needs to go to a responsible breeder (a respectable breeder, mind you, not a mall store) to get the right kind of dog for their family and I do NOT believe that is wrong.
Most of my animals were rescues (1 of my 3 sugar gliders, my tortoise, my turtle, one of my 2 geckos, etc.) but a few I have gotten from breeders (my other 2 gliders, my chinchilla), and even a few from pet stores (my Asian Long Tailed Grass Lizard, my bettas). I also have ordered some online (my hissing roaches), bought some at reptile expos (my other gecko and my tree frogs), and yes, raised some from birth (guppies, one glider). Depends on the situation.
