Speaking of board games, I play a somewhat obscure board game called "Zombies!" every once in a while. It's cut-throat, and we (my friends and I) are all extremely mean to each other when we play. twisted
It's a mix between a card game and a basic tabletop RPG. Hand of 5 cards, 3 bullets and 3 health (little bullet and heart tokens - and by heart I mean the organ inside the human body is depicted), and everyone is out to survive the invading zombie horde in an expanding city. If you die, you respawn back at the beginning, and it's a race to the helicopter / exit.
Fun stuff.
Also, I play DnD as well, but I'm a super nerd and have already said this at some point, I'm sure.

surprised Oooh. I'll have to look into it. My friends would probably like that more than all of my scifi-related games. crying

I have some friends who play board games, and I have been trying to get them to play when I'm around. It isn't working. I guess I am just terrible and no fun for board games.
Games I've noticed they play often: Twilight Imperium (they love this game), Zombies!, Settlers, lot of other stuff. They just bought a sweet looking race car game, and I bought one of them the new Civ board game for his b-day.
They are also running a RPG called Dogs in the Vineyard which apparently features Mormons in the Old West. It sounds awesome.
