If you listen to some of them on the christian networks, you'll find more that want your money.

This appears to actually be something for the purpose of humor(or mockery) rather than something real. I sincerly doubt this is something to be concerned about in the matters of a cult-like operation, but this is most definately something to not be happy about.

What I don't like is seeing an idiot on tv saying, "buy this prayer cloth to be healed." The healing of Jesus is free and yes there was a case where a prayer cloth was used, but they did not charge people for it.

I really don't like TV "God sprayers" they are only after money... There was a church where I come from in AR that constantly asked for donations on tv but most of it was for the cost of the time slot and the fact that there was no commercials either. They eventually lost their slot to a soap opera... that was really raunchy in nature. Kinda sad ain't it.

There is a church in a near by city that does something I think is stupid. A person my dad knows was church hopping. Going to a church for about a month or more then move to another, trying to find one he likes. Well, he went to one church and a month after he left, he recieved a letter from that saying he was behind Such in such dollars in his tithe.

I have heard of churches doing that... God wants an offering not a tithe.

I can't stand when churches "remind" you of tithing.
Heh. My mom was going to this one around here (I was going to a different one with a friend) around the time that my dad went for his quadruple bypass...she asked for my dad to be put on a prayer list and asked if the pastor could come see him in the hospital...we were sent a month's worth of tithe envelopes. Nobody even called. It was just depressing.

I mean, I know churches need to get money -somehow-, but...some of these churches are just plain greedy.

(Lucky they're still in the minority.)

Most churches are run like a business and like most businesses, they only look at the number of people and the amount of money. I've seen church brag about having so many members but I know not all of them are saved. Some focus on getting people to join and sticking them with a job. Others not only want you to join, but in order for you to join, your parents must join as well. My aunt came across a church like this.

Very few churches only focus about bring peole to Jesus, not to church. Making them a member of the kingdom of Heaven, not a our church.

What I don't like is when they ask for money during the service. The church I go to does that and sometimes it just drives me crazy. I just don't think that a church service is an appropriate place to ask for money.

Seriously..I saw someone selling blessed soap once. This IS something that's supposed to be funny, but it's only because the fart noises were added. This was taken from his real broadcasts!

I've noticed that a lot of televangelist who have a 30minute show will spend their message talking about blessing other people and the next ten minutes wuill be about donating to them. It is true they need money but they shouldn't spend all of the time they could be sharing God's word to convince people to give them money.

I was raised catholic, in the church for a long time you not only had to give to the collection but pay for your seat, if you wanted a good seat you payed more money the people who couldn't afford it still got to go to church but they got the crap seats. now the catholics are more worried about keeping people from leaving the church. (i left at 13)

I don't like evangelists because they tend to ask for your money, and the ones that don't are just so right wing they make me angry. I was at a gathering in halifax a few years ago to hear Franklin Graham, I though he was totoly full of s**t and seemed to be pushing his own agenda. so if the son of the world renowned Billy is a deuch i don't even want to think about the other evangelists out there. (on the pluss side , admission was free. so i guess he can't be all bad)
