I am hoping I'm not the only one, but I'm one of those people who cringes when certain sounds are made, and sometimes I can't even focus or talk while it's happening. Sounds like 2 pieces of silverware scraping together, people rubbing their hands together, there are many more but that's not my point. Am I the only one affected by this?

I cringe at most noises. I hate the sound that my computer makes, I hate the sound of the vacuum and any sort of gardening equipment. The sound of my dog cleaning herself, the sounds of people eating, smacking bubble gum, feet scuffling across carpet...screaming children.
I have a lot of them, because I have sensitive hearing...

I get migraines from the sound that TVs make (some of the newer ones aren't as terrible, though.), vacuums, and dog whistles. And there's this high pitched sound that computers (mostly desktops) make that bothers me after awhile. It's especially bad if there's a whole room of computers. Oh, and screeching car brakes.

When I go... I've had that happen with teachers voices and sometimes when someone is typing on the computer (ironic right?). I can think of others, and I guess I just learned to live with it. You go-- Draw me with Dobby and I will love you forever! (and tip to!)

Nails on a chock board make my nails feel weird. That, silverware scratching against each other, knife on a glass plate, etc, it all makes me feel weird in a bad way.

Styrofoam... Just anything to do with styrofoam. When it is touched at all, and with anything, I cringe, shiver, get goosebumps and jump really can't do anything....
Just the sound, even thinking about it I shiver....

Most people seem to be saying that they're hurt by certain sounds for more mental rather than physical reasons. I find this interesting. It's more of a personal preference thing. One person sounds like they suffer from migraines, which makes them more sensitive to certain sounds at certain times.
Me, I have sensitive ears. I dislike loud things. There's actually a weapon designed to force people to cover their ears that can be fired into a certain area.
Another sound fact to learn about is the "mosquito sound", it's designed so that only teenagers can hear it. Younger people haven't developed enough to hear it and older people tend to receive too much ear damage to hear it. The sound was specifically designed to stop loitering. It's pretty annoying. People use it as a cellphone ring tone so teachers can't hear, but often they can't turn off the sound so there's a noise annoying everyone that can't be stopped. Even if you wanted to tell a teacher, believability that it is going off, and then finding it are a problem.

You know that sound where people with really long nails scratch across a black board, well whenever things make even a form of that sound I think my head will explode. Then it just keeps echoing! AH! Sounds like paper ripping, metal scratching together, the vacuum also bother me. And kids, uuuh, screaming children make me want to murder myself! It's horrible!

People eating, or chewing gum. Anything that involves bodily functions irritate me, but chewing drives me up a wall and makes me sick. My mother is a disgusting eater, more so when drunk. Listening to her slop and smack her lips while eating anything...uh god...I nearly puke every time.
