I always stay on on sat nights, usually watching anime and it used to be my ironing night...imagine! I had to move which night I did it, to which ever random day I need to now...yeppers, I have an exciting life!

It may not be my *ideal* night (at least not by myself).

But sounds better than my current night. Right now I'm bored by myself, trying to find something to watch on TV (and failing) and trying to force myself to get wirework done.

Attempting and failing to have a conversation with my ex ....

WOW MY LIFE IS EXCITING! scream

When I was younger, we would sometimes have game nights on Saturdays. But for the most part I have always stayed in and did nothing different from every other night.

I should be writing or drawing. But that sounds like being productive.

You draw too? More artists here, is there stuff we can see? I have only seen Rye's drawings here, but Naito is creative in so many other ways, it's awesome the skill in this stuff.

I have no idea what canasta is, I could go google it, but it's more fun just to ask if it's a card game here without looking myself? Card game? board game?
PostPosted: Sun Jan 23, 2011 9:40 pm

*rofl* It's a card game. Stereo-typed as an old-person's game. rofl But I love it, it's my family's game. I've pretty much always known how to play.

Let me put it this way: My mom remembers breast-feeding while playing canasta. rofl

It's a fun game, with 5 rounds. Each round, each person has 2 'hands' (usually referred to 'hand' and 'foot' or 'hand' and 'boot').

Each card is worth a certain amount of points (3-7 = 5points, 8-K = 10points, A&2 = 20, & Joker = 50), And each round, to open, you need an increasing number of points (50, then 90, then 120, then 150, then you need a Canasta).

To 'open' an group of cards, you need to be able to put at least 3 of them down on the table then you and your partner(s) can add to it from there, until you get 7. Once you get 7, it's a Canasta, and gets put off to the side.

... And I'm going to stop there, before I get carried away.

It's easiest to learn if you just start playing, with 1 extra person who knows how to play, sitting beside you to help you learn. 3nodding

When I was in my early 20s I used to drive around Vancouver until 3 am with my best friend(s). Smoke cigars, count prostitutes on the street, drive the loop through Stanley Park, and go to deserted all night restaurants. Wake up 6am, go to work, and do it all again the next day.

In my mid 20s we gave up that. Every night going out? I don't think so. Friday or Saturday night, watch movies with the captions on so no one missed anything if it got noising in the house. Played board games, drank a little whiskey, home by 10-11.

Now in our late 20s, we're like "What? Go out now? Why didn't you invite me this morning, or yesterday? It is already 7pm! I ate dinner, and in my PJs! I've got my hot tea, and getting ready to watch Murder She Wrote/Star Trek TNG/Old episodes of the Simpsons/the evening news..." whatever lame thing is on.
Once a month... or six months, get together, bake something, have some scotch or wine. And then we stare at each other, realizing that at not even 30 we are are old. WTF?

This makes me laugh! It's true though, I know. I am better at spur of the moment going out than my hubby, he's a terrible complainer about last minute plans, so "this morning, or yesterday?" part rang true. In the winter especially, I always look forward to getting my PJ's on when I am done running around, and if that happens, I am not likely to do anything.

Lol are you me? I get home from work now and just hate when we don't plan s**t out, haha. Will showed up at work at the end of my shift (after 7 hours to boot) and was all "Let's go walk to the food store now smile " ....and I was like "....Dude, I'm tiiiiiiired. Couldn't we have planned that out so I could mentally prepare?" haha.

I used to have a DA account, but I deactivated it due to the experience making my soul implode into a realm of flaming vomit and misery populated by trolls and schmucks.
