Arianna and Jack had been running for quite some time in their mechs from the strange forces that attacked the Noromi Training Facility. Arianna knew they were being followed but by what she wondered. Jack soon noticed something and was freaking out “Calm down.” Arianna replied over the comm. Just then an enemy unit appeared from seemingly out of nowhere and blew off one of Jack’s unit’s legs. Arianna returned fire. She hoped that the signal she sent awhile ago had reached command.

The room was assembled and many different pilots were pulled from classes for this operation. None of them knew what was going on then Commander Thomas spoke. “Good morning students I have some rather urgent news; we have received an emergency signal from Noromi one of our sister facilities. According to reports we have gathered it is under attack by forces that seem to be allied with the Lowell Group. Our primary objective in this operation is to secure any survivors, recover the Academies main computer and eliminate any threat to our drop-ships escape. *the screen in the room changes from the emblem of the organization to a map of the desert they were being sent to and the mission objectives* Anyone have any questions?”

Looking down the scope from a position far off the crosshairs land on Arianna and Jack, classmates to each other. Taking note that Jack has no leg and Arianna is sustaining heavy damage the crosshairs move. The scanners pick up the threat. It’s what resembles a Heavy Mech. Remembering what he was taught echoes in Miroshi's head, "One shot, one kill.", he sucks his breath in deep, counts his heartbeats and slowly pulls back the trigger. The shot hits its target before even the recoil hits Miroshi, he sees the gaping hole in the mech, and then...it explodes.

Seeing the enemy mech explode as Arianna was preparing to fire again Arianna checked her radar and noticed the IFF signal of another allied unit She thought to herself "No ... that can't be right... where in the... did someone else manage to get out?" Just then another round hits Jacke's mech and his mech engages auto-eject before it explodes. His ejection pod fires far into the sky and uses its emergency propellant system to fly further into the air. Arianna returns fire at the second enemy. It however had the advantage of surprise and fires first. It damages an arm "Warning ammunition hit. Weapon destroyed." The AI of Arianna's mech announces as her mechs arm explodes. She is thrown about in her cockpit a bit her only saving grace being her harness holding her to the seat. She fires another shot and destroys the enemy mech taking out its legs it falls on its cockpit and explodes. Arianna then opens up a communications channel to the allied unit "Cadet Arianna Manomi, Team 2; Unit Alpha of Noromi Academy... Please respond; where did you come from and who are you?" She replies bluntly.

Miroshi listens intently to the comm hearing this, “Cadet Arianna Manomi, Team 2; Unit Alpha of Noromi Academy... Please respond; where did you come from and who are you?"
While activating the comm he thinks, "Well at least they're okay, was worried I wasn't going to make it." Miroshi clicks on the comm, "I'm Cadet Miroshi Hatake, Team 6; Unit Alpha. I saw you both on radar and have been following you. I wasn't sure who you were till I saw the gun fight. How is your partner, is he ok?"

"No idea... remember our base was attacked... we have no mission controller; now way to even know if his pods been recovered." Just then a dropship nears view; an aircraft is attacking it "This is dropship Echo 4 we are under attack." Arianna fires at the craft in the air destroying it in one shot. The dropship soon lands and four mechs exit the craft with a tank. "Good shooting Cadet; are there any other survivors?" "Not that I know of; we barely managed to get out ourselves." "Alright; three dropships went ahead; we have instructions to take you back to Salmor."
Arianna nods then heads for the dropship. Upon arriving mechanics open up the cockpit and get her out; upon releasing the harness holding her to the seat they notice she is bleeding pretty badly from the right side of her lower abdomen. She did not have time to survey her injuries before and did not think she was hurt that badly. It turns out she was just running on adrenaline becuase if finally wore off and she fell out of the cockpit only being held by the mechanics; she had blacked out. One of the mechanics then shouted "Medic" A medical team soon arrived.

Miroshi clicks the comm, "Echo 4 this is Cadet Miroshi Hatake from Team 6, I'm far out but will be heading that way". "This is Echo 4, Cadet Hatake you need to hurry and get over here we have wounded." Miroshi replies, "Understood already on my way." The comm link ends with a click, Miroshi's thoughts are pulsing. "I guess I didn't get to him fast enough, hmm, I hope those two are alright. I didn't even get a read on the second aircraft.." Miroshi gets to the dropship, he locks his mech in and awaits orders.

An hour passes and Arianna wakes up in medical with Jack next to her "Your awake; that was fast. *he tittles his thumbs* I have something that I want to tell you" "... What is it?" "Well; I... will be leaving you.... and I wanted you to know that I love you." "... So your going to become a mechanic; well at least you wont be far away... and ... hold on... you *she stares at him* what..." he blushes "uh... never-mind... it was nothing..." Arianna continues to look at him for a moment than she sighs laying back down. Jack decides he should leave so he gets up and walks out without saying anything else to her but then she says "Thanks for your concern and I heard what you said... I kinda knew as much with how y ou acted around me...I'm sorry to say that I don't share such feelings for you." Jack continues to walk out. Arianna knew her saying that would hurt him but she thought that she should at least get that over with now and be that direct so it would not cause problems for her later if something were to happen. Arianna now just lays there thinking about what had happened in the battle and how she got hurt.

Miroshi had thought he might as well check on those two from Team 2. He walks up to the door frame to see Jack walking out, not looking happy nor upset, just this essence of determination. Miroshi thinks "Hm. Something has gotten him pretty upset, however he'll never admit it. I wonder what went on...Well best to go check on ... what was her name now?... Ara..something?" -chuckles and knocks on the door- He calls through the door, "May I come in, or are you not decent?"

"Um... you can come in." She had no idea who it was; so much had been going on that she forgot about the other pilot that saved her.

"Well hello Miss. You're looking a lot better than you did when they pulled you out of your cockpit. Apparently you were pretty banged up. However now you can't tell. Seems they patched you up rather well." Miroshi was admiring the handy work of the Medic Staff. "However, what happend to your partner there? He seemed rather upset about something?"

"oh... uh... its nothing... he will get over it... though hes joining the mechanics corps becuase of me... Strange how people have t hat effect on others... Any word if they found anyone else from Noromi?" Arianna asks looking at Miroshi sitting up from her bed as if read to get up on a moments notice.

Miroshi turns and looks at all the floating monitors’. "The academy was hammered pretty hard...They're going through the debris now...however it could be days before they pick anyone out. I was lucky enough to have been in the armory with my mech when the first volly hit. I know we can't be the only ones left." Miroshi taps the screen looking over all of the vitals.

Arianna looks down swinging her legs back and forth to attempt to hide her feelings. She felt like she let everyone there down. She went to go get help and ended up getting hurt and on top of that she did not save anyone. In her mind she had failed. She does not say anything and just replies with a sigh.

Miroshi turns again to see Arianna swinging her legs. He can tell she’s upset, so he attempts to lighten the mood up a bit, “Well hey I know there wasn’t anyone else in the armory, and that’s where most of the explosions would’ve occurred right? So there is hope we’re not the only ones.” Miroshi lifts her chin up, “No more of this frowning business, flip it around and smile.” Miroshi smiles through the scarf that covers his mouth and nose like a partial mask and then walks to the corner of the room, sits down in a chair and pulls a book out of his back pocket and starts to read..

Arianna grinned a bit then returned to her normal expression and lays back down on the bed. "So why have I never seen you before this battle... unless I'm just that out of touch with things that I did not notice you."
