Rose lived with her parents and her brother, Rouge, until she was five years old, when their parents split up and she was taken to live in another town with her father. During the time living with her father, she was forced to attend a strict girls-only school and kept at home outside school hours, as her father was overly possessive of her.
Rose made a deal with her best friend from school that, when they had both turned sixteen, if neither of them had kissed a boy yet they would kiss each other to see what it was like. Rose's father happened to walk into the room at the moment of this kiss and, being a violent homophobe, he disowned her and kicked her out of his house.
Rose managed to eventually seek out her mother and Rouge and was reunited with them after being apart for eleven years.
Rose is generally quiet and can be easily frightened, as a result of living with an aggressive and violent parent. She starts to enjoy life a bit more and becomes happier after spending time with Rouge and his friends.
Rose admits later to being attracted to women and starts dating Chartreuse, although their relationship is mostly sexual and they don't take each other too seriously.
There are no characters who don't get along with Rose, although, having lived such a sheltered life, she is wary of Schwarz because of his criminal history.
Rose and Rouge have a close relationship, despite spending most of their lives apart. (But how close?! I'm leaving it ambiguous as to whether anything is going on here or not..)
