Easy my Canadian friends. So much excitement over nothing. Living here in the States as a Canadian, I can attest to the fact that most of the people I know here detest their own gov't, the inefficiencies, the ludicrousness, the lack of intelligence, the secretiveness and gestapo tactics all in the name of "safety". What's the saddest about it all isn't what exists, it's that no one here in the States can be bothered to make any of it stop, that's too much like work. The media scares those lacking the ability to think critically and with intelligence, and unfortunately, the masses rule in that area.

Does the Kinder Surprise thing really shock you? You are talking about a country where the people of that country willing gave away their fundamental rights and freedoms (fought long and hard for in their revolutionary war) to their faceless gov't, in the name of "safety". What's a little chocolate?

What I find more interesting is that they won't let their gov't give them free-access health care to all citizens, they won't legislate statutory holidays like we enjoy, they won't let their gov't legislate maternity leave, and vacation (as we know it) is a "perk" offered by individual companies, not a law. But they will allow their gov't to slowly strip them of every right, every freedom, and half of every dollar they make..... why not the chocolate, to keep them "safe"?

If you were looking for anything to make sense, don't look down here in this direction for common sense. Intelligence and the ability to think for yourself (THEN MAKE A DIFFERENCE) well that left the building long ago. What a sad day that was for our neighbours. Don't heckle them, feel sorry for them, for all too many of them know not that there is a better way and when you try to tell them, they fight you every step of the way. I've given up trying to talk to any of them about anything more important than the weather.
