I hate them. I hate floods right now. I'm house sitting right now with my mum, for my brother and his gf, but my dad is at home with my dogs and guinea pigs. So far our town doesn't look like it's going to flood, but my nearest city has. 4 people dead (one of them was the sister of a teacher at my school), several missing. A lot of people I know would no longer have a home. I'm scared some of the missing people will be people I know. And then I'm worried about my dad and my pets (and the house though not as much). The whole towns surrounded by flood waters, but hopefully the town will be safe. Then I'm worried about myself, as the city my mum and I are house sitting is possibly going to go under, along with a neighbouring city. They say it could be like the flood they had back in 1974 (Where practically everyone had to sit on their roof). Being me, if it does flood, I'll be freaking out trying to hold all of their 3 dogs, and then freaking out about where their cat is (it's allowed to roam and is hard to get near, It either runs away from people, or attacks them. Even it's owners).
So. What disasters have you guys been in? I've never been in any kind of natural disaster before...

if it looks like its going to get real bad though we evacuate. we once planned a vacation to florida at the time one one hurricane a few years ago, so happy we did because there was alot of damage to some of the houses right down the street

I've been in a couple of tornados. One of the bad ones i was at school and my aunt was home alone with the two cats and she was running around grabbing them and bringing them down to our basement with her. (they are never aloud down there). I was at school sitting and watching the MT DEW green sky.
This past summer we had a few scars and I was worried for my gerbils and brought them down anytime one had been spotted and it was moving towards us. Aunt always told me to leave them down in the basement for the night to not stress them out as much (they were in their normal cage). But normally i brought them back up to my room since the basement is about 10 or 15 degrees cooler than the rest of the house and i didn't want them getting sick.
And now where I am living there are always the blizzards, and people that don't know how to drive in snow. Over the past two breaks (two weeks apart) I have had three people get into accidents and total their cars. I was freaking out for my friend yesterday cause i knew he was about an hour behind me when we were coming up and then 8 and 10 oclock rolled around and they still weren't back yet and it wasn't until ysterday around noon that they got home. He was lucky that he couldn't get traction or things could of been alot worse than it was. So I know when driving back and forth to school with people and hearing recently the types of accidents people have been having I worry about what would happen if my driver gets into one while I have my gerbils.

I hope everything works out okay for you!
Here in Massachusetts we have Hurricanes and Blizzards. Luckily I don't live on the south shore or anything, they have crazy flooding and damaged houses whenever there's a storm. Where I live it's mostly mild, though my mom always tells me about the blizzard of '78, and how the snow was so high it covered entire doors and stuff like that.

Just one, a tornado. It wasn't a big one or nothing, but it tore through our cow pasture. We lost a pregnant heifer, a yearling heifer, and three calves. Two of the calves were mine, and the yearling was one that I had hand raised and had literally just put out to pasture with the other cows. :<
I hope everything turns out OK for you!
