Well...
1. Strange abilities (aka those few skills that are like 25%-around 30% of all the world)
2. Stronger senses
3. A strange level of spirituality, almost prophet in faith
4. Advanced knowledge of something
Etc and so forth.

If you Google the criteria for being an Indigo you'll find that just about anyone can fit into them. I don't really believe very much of the indigo children thing.
