do you think only one should be used? Do you think they can both be used in coordinance? Do you think neither should be used? What are your views on the topic and why?

dragon craft i believe its how its used not good or bad black or white its more of a gray the witch chooses how to use it I lvoe the way you put that. I agree with you on that. Magic is magic, and it's not good nor evil, the good or the bad is in the person not the magic.

Ah, this old thing. I'm always one to beat a dead horse.
Magic has no color. There is no such thing as "black magic" or "white magic", nor is any one given spell or ritual inherently "good" or "evil". Morals and concepts such as "right and wrong" or "good and evil" are murky and subjective and differ not only from culture to culture, but also person to person. What is "evil" to one person might not be to another. Likewise, what is "good" to one person may not be to another. Its all in perception.
As for magic specifically, it is not the spell or ritual you is "good" or "evil" but rather the purpose you have in mind for casting the spell in the first place. What could be a "blessing" to one person can easily be a "curse" to another.

Both are equals in my mind, with only one, that would be too orderly and one sided. Life would be either too easy or difficult for us to handle. We need a balance.

Merry Meet, I am not a member, but I am looking into the guild to see if its what I want to join. I saw this post and would like to leave my opinion. Black and white magick are nothing more than another name for high and low magick. Low magick is instantaneous and can be used for self gain, hence why in the old days evil sorcerers/witches/wizards/mages were said to use black magick which they thought was evil, while High magick takes longer to work and is used for the purpose of helping others or gaining better understanding of the universe and what consists in it and could also be used for healing, hence why it was referred to as white or good magick. I read this in a book called "Temple of High Witchcraft" I believe, its 1 of 4 books.

In some circumstances it is necessary to perform black magic. If someone had done wrong, for example, murdered someone, I would then find it necessary to use black magic. There is a few reasons that would make it an appropriate solution for wrong doing. Someone has harmed a loved one, someone stole valuable items from your home, someone is threatening harm unto others. But this is just my opinion.

I believe that magick is inherently good, and that the actual energy comes from life itself, so that to use that power to harm any being for any reason is unacceptable.

I very much agree with your post when it comes to my prospective on the subject

I'm not a part of this guild. I was mostly just looking around at guilds when I saw this question. I was going to respond but Renkon Root pretty much covered everything I believe about this question, and I'm very happy it was said.
