The woman finally crumbled into pieces, the broken shards of ice turning into soft puffs of snow. Christmas snow, how fitting. However, Sinon paid little attention to the drifting snowflakes. Where was the crystal?

Her eyes darted all over the place, attempting to discern the gem from the rest of the snow until she finally spotted—a glittering cyan. Without thinking she ran forward, her only thought that someone, anyone other than the Negaverse had to get it. She sprinted, stretching out an arm towards the crystal.

In the explosive finish of Kaguya's demise, Chromite was thrown backwards. Ice and yet more debris was thrown back with her and cut into her skin and face, thin trails of blood mixed and soaked in with the larger splotches on her from earlier. As she shot backwards, her eyes fell on the crystal as it fell too but oh-so very out of reach. She only prayed the Negaverse got to it again before the senshi, but even that thought was barely finished. Her short and violent flight was over as her back hit the side of a nearby building.

It was the final injury and her body could not take it anymore. Frowning and cussing, she shook her head and slowly drug herself away from the commotion.

She was going to need so much medical attention for this. Again.

Chromite hated doctors.

Ah. What a pleasant sound that grated on one's ears. Zephyr felt no remorse for his disappearance. Zephyr definitely felt his mood lift at the demise of their enemy, although he didn't care much for the snow.

The ice shards were beautiful, but there was something different amongst the pure white of the snow. A colorful jewel..? Although the shine of the crystal caught his eye, leaping up to catch the crystal. In all actuality, he was fine with the owner as long as it held no ties to the negaverse.

A thrum of power, a hum of energy nearby. Castor took a second to look at his surroundings. A second to see it, and he could hear the echo of the figure in white. He could hear the echo for Queen Serenity's words. Get the crystal. It was their shot. It was what they needed. It was a lifeline. It was something that could help them find her.
The need to find Serenity drew the senshi of hail from his dark place, drew him from the rage induced madness. He reached out and prayed.

Saiph starred as the witch was destroyed, leaving behind a single, lovely crystal. Remembering the strange crystal at the Halloween ball, she lunged, not wanting this one to fall into the hands of her enemies.

The infamous crystal. That's what the spot of color was-- that was what everyone was after. In a poor attempt to reach out, her hand extended, fumbling. She knew the chances were slim to none, shaking her head.

There was a reason why everyone was going for it.

Maia watched as the princess was defeated. She had dashed forward in that moment and when the crystal was sent tumbling throught the sky, she jumped for it, attempting to catch it.

Sailor Algol still hadn't figured out how to work that damned drainage plug system, not to mention she was getting rather cold and uncomfortable. She made to leave, giving very little notice to flying crystals or whatnot.

It had gotten a lot warmer suddenly, and the sounds of people fighting also had died down quite a bit. Not entirely, but significantly. She was curious and feeling better now that her legs were starting to cool down so slowly but surely she was able to open her eyes as the small bits of ice that had formed around them melted. She didn't see the dead snow dancer thankfully, but she did notice the the ice throne was destroyed. With a small cry she noticed that all of the snow globes had been destroyed as well. She knew she shouldn't have taken it out of the house!

Everyone was looking the other way though, and Ainsley couldn't find Senri at all. In fact, she could barely see anyone other the tall people who were in front of her. She tugged at the coat Senri had dropped on her, and wondered where he went as well as how she'd give him back his coat. She thought she heard whispering and after a moment she slowly pulled Octavian Oswald up to her ear and listened to his concerns.

"Ah..." she murmured. It was so late! Santa would never bring her presents if she wasn't in bed and asleep! Panic finding the small child, she forgot all about finding Senri and all about the ice princess who was no longer there. The people who were racing around the area were now at the back of her mind as she hurried back home as fast as her frozen legs could move.

From atop the building, Pegasus watched as the ice queen screamed and writhed, no pity in the blank expression staring down at the scene. Attacks, powered and otherwise, pulsed against the crystalline structure that had been her frosty throne, spiderweb cracks propagating along that pale blue body, and pieces of ice began to crumble from her as she wailed. Every once in a while a gust of pure fury lashing out at the fighters, tugging at hair and cloth, trying desperately to retain what power it had possessed, but the tempest had begun to ebb, every passing second that power lost to the four corners of the earth. And all the while the senshi of dreams merely stared, her own cool blue-green eyes watching as the cosmic power fell, her arms wrapped protectively around the pink-skirted form resting trustingly in her arms. There was no more threat -- even the negaverse was of no concern at the moment, the adrenaline of the fight having dissipated much as Kaguya's power had. There was no reason the negaverse would attack, not with so many senshi around, even if they were outnumbered. Chibi was safe -- they could make an easy getaway from the top of the building they were perched... the only thing to do was to watch it crumble to dust.

The sound of the Ice Queen's last piercing gave way, and finally the colossal structure deteriorated, imploding on itself with the sound of broken glass and ice shards, a cascade of gentle snow tossed into the air. It was the winter wonderland they had expected all along for Destiny City, and throughout the battle sight, eyes surely lifted to it, drawn to the site of the powder slowly falling back to earth. Among them, the senshi of dreams tilted her head up from her higher vantage point, blinking a little slowly as the flakes dusted her strawberry red hair, her expression slightly comically torn, as if not sure whether to relax or not. Shaking her head a little to try to remove it without the use of her hands, she sighed a little, beginning to turn away from the fight.

It was only the sound of someone below crying out that she snapped back to attention, her eyes automatically finding the slightly larger form falling through the air.

A crystal.

She knew what it was.

She knew what it meant.

And what it would mean if the negaverse got hold of it.

Adrenaline pumping in her ears, Pegasus clutched the sleeping Chibimoon closer, taking only half a second to stare down at the exhausted form with a conflicted look before her expression panned out again, determined. Taking a few sprinted steps, she leaped from the top of the building extending a hand towards the falling gem.

In her attempt to get at the Crystal, Gunn was certainly too overzealous. The Ice Princess was gone, but it was still winter--and there was still ice, everywhere. In a move that would doubtless haunt her dreams, she slipped and took herself quite out of the running for the Crystal entirely.

xxxxxGwenliana watched as her queen broke to pieces. She was horrified by the sight, and watched as each tiny, shattered fragment of her princess disappeared. As much as she loved these humans, it was still her princess. Gwenliana let out a howl, loud as a blizzard wind for her ruler. For her commander. For her friend. But suddenly, her fragments became a soft, sort of lulling snowflake dance. All of the snowflakes were dancing individually. And though her princess was gone, Gwenliana could still feel her in each of the flakes. Each tiny flake held just a particle of her princess' peace. Her love. Yes, Gwenliana knew that deep down, her princess was good. It was apparent in the snowfall.

xxxxxBut suddenly one shard glimmered a bit bright than the rest. One snowflake was not a snowflake at all, but a dazzling gem about the size of her princess' eye. Gwenliana was about to make a leap for it, so that she could hold on to one last part of her princess, but suddenly, it seemed as though everyone was going for it. Senshi and Nega alike, everyone reached out for the slimmest chance of receiving the princess' remains. Smiling, she knew that one of these people needed to protect it, a lot better than Gwenliana ever would. She sent a quick prayer that it might go to someone with a good heart. Someone who would use it correctly. Someone like Ainsley, or Lumiere, or even Hayden.

xxxxxSpeaking of Ainsley, Gwenliana caught the small girl running away out of the corner of her eye. She seemed panicked and confused by the mass of people moving towards the glittery object. Realizing that after the crystal was removed, the people would soon attack her out of resentment, Gwenliana quickly dashed out of the scene, chasing Ainsley down the streets of the town. Faster, Gwenliana thought, I have to catch her!

It was ice. Shard of ice – and it terrified him. His weapon had went to wrap about the Ice Queen, but just as they did, she shattered and sent snow and ice about, and that frightened him. It was instinct to protect his face and his one good eye. The one eye keeping him in the Negaverse, and as he finally looked up again, he saw a mass of senshi race up for the crystal and flew up and away from him. There would be no way to get it. What small window of opportunity that had been offered had closed.

But where one closed, another opened.

The Queen was dead and Earth was at least safe from that threat. He did his part. The crystal however was in the hands of luck and Fate, and he could only hope whatever hand it fell into, it was on their side.

As he watched the crowd mob the gem that burned like a bright, cold start down from the heavens, a high, growling scream that chilled his blood more than Kaguya's blast could had pieced his ears and he whipped about from his perch on what was left of Kaguya's throne to see Tanzanite screaming, blood dotting her body in startling contrast to the white wonderland that was left behind. It was Castor he saw above her, Castor going for the crystal as Tanzanite went for whatever she could grab and tear.

NOW he could do what he wanted.

He didn't bother waiting. He teleported straight there to Tanzanite's side, and he went straight to aim at Castor. It was tricky considering she was reaching up for him, but he was up above her to some degree. A wide cut might take off her other arm, and he knew enough that being completely rid of a physical pair would be traumatic. No. He would never risk that with any member of his team. Instead, he knew of another attack. Another one that Castor seemed to prefer.

As the boy was out for the Crystal, and Tanzanite was out for Castor, Wolfy kicked up to line up with the boy. "Guess who?!" And then went for a hard punch. Maybe he could bring the senshi of hail back down to Earth the hard way. Maybe he could even break a rib. Wouldn't that be nice?

There was a sense of achievement as they watched the Ice Princess topple, although there was a more perturbing thing at hand. The Crystal. Chronos' eyes widened and started forward, just like everyone else had, in an attempt to grab it.
