Large hooves crushed the soft snow as they rushed through their icy stillness. The muffled thump was the only noise that broke the quiet dawn, light just beginning to filter over the tree line. Freya was having a gleeful time, especially without the chilly wind she was so used to.
With a musing whinny, she paused in her galloping and stood still, her breath coming in cold wisps about her head. She knew that there were others who roamed this area, yet she had not seen a soul since she had arrived. Being new to an area truly had it's disadvantages.
With a snort, she began to trot through the snow, listening to the quiet morning sounds that she had yet to experience. Like the sound of a sparrow singing it's morning repertoire. What a sound! And the cry of a lone eagle circling high overhead.

I'll post her preggers Image when it's dropped off so just imagine a plump mera. The snow had fallen the night before leaving a fresh blanket covering the open area she'd played in as a foal. She had grown fat during the time between now and her fight with her best friend that made them part ways. She was still rather upset with the ordeal her moods swinging more than she figured they really should have. then again.. she'd gained weight from the stress of everything she figured since her appetite had increased not too long after she and Sena had had their fight. With a hefty sigh, she stepped out into the area and looked around. She had to find her father and tell him about everything a few days ago. He always knew just what to say to lift the weight of the world from her back. The day was still young though, so she guessed she could just put that off til latter.((Um.. yeah.. she's currently oblivious as to being pregnant lol...so she just thinks she's fat ))

The mare paused in her walking, and looked at the figure who had stepped into the clearing. She had vibrantly colored hair, and a fair fur tone. But the one thing that stood out most was the large, protruding belly. Freya's ears perked up, and she trotted toward the mare, her movements gentle and happy, her sky blue eyes smiling.
She stopped not far away, "Good morning." She said, her voice a trill. She then looked down at the distended belly, and lowered her head to it, "Good morning to you too, little one... or ones, perhaps." She smiled, raising her head once more.

Her chest plate was causing an itch by her belly where she couldn't reach and now a strange mare was talking to her fat belly. Her brow furrowed and her ears flicked back some. On a normal day she would have been glad to meet some one new but her chest plate was pinching her fat. "What're you talking about? I'm fat..." She still hadn't put two and two together with the mood swings, increase in appetite, and weight gain after... well... that.... She figured she'd just packed on the pounds for the winter time. Her father had told her winter was a harsh time of year to begin with. Shaking her head she tried not to loose her cool. She'd been rude enough as it was.
"I'm sorry, forgive me If I've been harsh but you see... There couldn't be foals within my belly as I've no mate." She left off the fact of certain things but such things were between herself and Sena and they'd promised each other that ..that... wouldn't come up again.

The mare laughed and smiled once more, "M'dear. The belly does not wiggle cuz you are in excess. It wiggles cuz life is stirring." She tilted her head down to eye the bulging belly. "It doesn't take a mate to make children." Freya said with a small laugh as she stepped back to eye the mare. She must be young not to know what occurred when children were made. "Don't you remember anyone whom you've been with in the past few months, a male?" She was curious.
The mare seemed to be vehemently refusing to believe what she was hearing from Freya, and the large mare sighed. She'd never met someone like this.

She gave a small snort. "Only male I've been around is just a close dear friend of mine..." Her ears flicked some as she thought about this some. Sure they'd gotten rather...... cozy... to say the least but she hadn't even suspected she could be carrying his foals now. She turned her head to look at her bulging belly and blinked a few times, poking it some with her nose. Had she not felt the life within it wiggling about? It could explain her feeling ill... and the mood swings... surely it didn't happen from one night.. did it?
She had her answer soon enough. " I.... don't think I am..." She'd been about to continue before a small hoof kicked in the right area of her causing her eyes to widen and the wind to escape her. "Ooof!" She stared rather shocked at the other mare. "What in blazes was that?"

Freya let out a laugh that echoed in the still morning air. "That, m'dear, is life!" The large mare stomped her feet with another laugh, enjoying herself. She leaned forward toward the other mare's belly with a soft sigh, "Motherhood. How I long to experience such an adventure." She lipped softly at Merashik's stomach, hoping to soothe both mother and child(ren). "I'm sorry, I must sound like an old nag to be talking as such." She said, her vibrant eyes aglow.
"My name is Freya. I come from the deep North to this odd place of trees and grass. I hope I do not seem... outwardly overwhelming." She laughed good-naturedly.

"Life.. within?" She blinked a few times then it dawned on her. Something her father had hinted at she hadn't picked up on it. "So that's what he meant..." She blinked again talking more to herself than anyone else. "I guess I really put my hoof in it this time.." She gave a small smile. "I mean.. I don't know... I guess I'll have a load of explaining to do to both the father and My own father.." She looked about as though she expected one or both of the males to show up, though they didn't.

Freya stomped a hoof in the snow, and smiled. "Well, you have to think o it as such: No matter if your family has given you approval, you have children on the way and have much to look forward to." She looked at the smaller mare, and the large belly, and felt like encouraging her. She had never run into such a mare, who was startled with her own pregnancy even though it was occurring and clearly was she with child.
Freya turned her gaze away from the mare at a flock of sparrows that took wing above them. "Your children will most likely be like that." She said with a smile, motioning toward the flock as it disappeared. "They will grow like weeds and then blossom into extravagant flowers before they flap their newly fledged wings and fly into the sun." She knew it was a daunting thought, but to her it was not as such.

"I see.. I guess so. I'm sure though my family will be a bit disappointed.. they'll be happy none the less. I think my father's learning that I'm not his little filly any more." She chuckled lightly before giving a small yawn. She'd been so tired lately. She guessed now that this was all due to the life growing within her. "For give me.. Didn't mean to yawn." She gave a small smile. "I'm Merashik by the way.. I forgot to tell you my name in my confusion." She gave a small sheepish chuckle.

"Quite alright, m'dear." She said with a broad, pleasant smile. "You have much on your mind." Freya flicked her head, loosening her cloak, and then proceed to unpin it and drag it over to drape upon Merashik's back. "Keep yourself warm." The mare stepped back to look at her handiwork, and nodded when she was sure it would not slip.
"Your father should be pleased he will have grandchildren. I know I would be." She nosed slightly at her Merashik's belly once more. "Though, I shall hopefully one day find someone who will undoubtedly love me as I am. It is a good thing to wish for, no?" She let out a loud laugh, deep and throaty.

"I guess.. Nothing wrong to look forward to some one caring for you as you are." She nodded then looked at the cloak that'd been draped on her. Her father had a most wondrous cloak. She remembered playing in it as a foal. She couldn't help but to snuggle down into it. No wonder he kept his cloak on him at all times.. it was warm. "I'm sure one day you'll find your match.. I hate to say it but.. I feel nothing for the father other than friendship.. But I guess It's better than me out right hating him, no?"

"Sometimes the spirits choose someone who will make the offspring, the children to better something." Freya nodded in thought. "And hate is a strong emotion to pass to your children, so it is a good thing you do not hate him." Freya felt like she should dote upon the smaller mare, feeling both rather motherly and comfortable around her. Spirits... what do you have in mind with this meeting... She wondered silently, her sky-blue eyes looking at Merashik with a smile alight within them.
She watched her cuddle into the cloak for a moment, before looking around her, at the snowy expanse and the trees that encircled it. "Shall we find a place to nestle down? I feel the air growing colder. I would hate to have you caught out in the open when the snow hits." She chuckled, her ears flicking to and fro as she said this. It was such a minute thing for her to worry upon, but it concerned her for the well-being of the expectant mother.

She looked around and gave a small nod. She'd been here not to long ago with her father when the rains before winter's snow had hit. They'd had to find shelter in a near by cave that day. "There's a cave not too far off... " She nodded to her side towards the treeline. "My father and I took up in it when the rains hit..." Turning, she started heading in the direction she'd nodded at.. "It's a nice cloak you have here.. Father's is green but I don't think it's nearly as warm as this."

Freya nodded her assent as Merashik spoke of her destination. "That would definitely be a good location." She said with a smile, padding off to follow the mare as she lead her. She hardly knew the area, but a cave would probably be the safest, and warmest of locations.
As Mera spoke of her cloak, she nodded. "My cloak is meant to handle the snows. Where I am from, the snow and bitter cold is normal, an everyday thing. And I mean that quite literally. I do not remember a time when there was not snow upon the ground." She laughed, breathing out a cold stream of white from her nostrils. "It is sadly warmer here the where I came from, where even the rocks seemed to freeze. And you looked rather chilly." She smiled warmly at Mera with a soft nod. She didn't mind sharing the cloak with her.
