Alright now I am not sure if the rumors of Barnes and Nobles is true or not. I have heard though that a lot of big city stores like the one in and around New York is closing for good due to the fact that they cannot make their yearly sales quota. I personally love books right down to the smell. I love the fill of the pages and the sound each page makes while turn them. Technology today is ruining books! Yes technology is a great thing for some items, and yes I do admit it is better to carry around one item filled with five books instead of carrying the actual books. The one thing technology cannot do is give you that satisfactory feeling of saying "I actually read my first chapter book to the very last page." Anyway if one Barnes and Noble closes then that means that rest will follow. The Barnes and Nobles near me is a like a home away from home. I get my manga and my books from there. I love that store more than anything. We need to try and figure out a way to save this store if you love books and the likes! I am going to be posting a thread in the normal forums. If you would like to save this store or even books themselves please fill free to stop by. I know this guild comes together to support things such as this. That is why I am asking for your help!
Thanks and Sincerely, cupcake_ninja08

I live in Canada so we have chapters and coles around my area but I'll support you. Barnes and Nobles is a big book chain and if they shut down who knows where that will lead. I hope the rumors are true about shutting down the book store.

If you would like to post on that, it would be a big a help!

I, like Kim, live in Canada, so I don't have that bookstore chain around me. But it's sad when a bookstore is going out of buisness.
I'm kind of guilty, though. I'm getting an e-Reader for Christmas, so I won't be buying books from stores later anyways.

I don't like e-readers nothing beats a book in your hands and actually turning pages (plus the screen would make my eye sight worse >.>)
I don't live near a Barnes and Noble but I do live near a Border's and a Books-a-Million (I like the Border's more) I would be devastated if the Border's closed that is for sure T-T

i dont know about the barnes and noble thing, but i only go to borders company book stores. hell, i WORKED there before. Loved it. Then, the store, and a few others, shut down. They were to small, they said. Couldnt make sales quotas. Saddest moment of that year for me...

I hope it's not true. However, I shop at Borders, I live down the street from it. Like Katie, it is a second home. PEOPLE LOVE TO READ. If they close any bookstore, they are closing people's hearts.

There are no Borders near me, so I don't get to go there that often, but there used to be a Walden's bookstore in the Mall I work at. When it closed I was sad! I do agree I love books alot...and like I said if one bookstore chain closes, then what will happen to the rest? I am so glad that you all replying and saying how you feel. Thanks!
