History: Koji was born as the b*****d child between Hana, a runaway Branch member of the Hyuuga clan and her lover; Hanaki, a missing nin also from the Hidden Leaf. His parents sought to leave the Hidden Leaf as neither of their families approved of their relationship, and this worsened when it was discovered that Koji’s mother was pregnant. With this the two fled from the village and began their lives as petty thieves in order to survive, slowly making their way towards Water Country. In the nine months following their leave the couple settled down on the far outskirts of the Hidden Mist village, just far enough to avoid detection but close enough to ambush incoming trade caravans. However Koji’s parents lifestyle would soon catch up to them when Hanaki was struck down while attempting to attack a caravan on his own as Hana was unable to assist him while being so close to giving birth.
With it being two days since Hanaki left on his own Hana began to fear the worse, knowing that something must have gone wrong. Then to only make matters worse her heightened emotional state sent her into labor, and without anyone to help aid her it would be a miracle for Hana to keep herself and the baby alive. Out of sheer will Hana was able to deliver her baby on her own although it was not without complications. She managed to cut the umbilical cord and held him close to her chest as she tried her best to keep him warm while her own body grew cold from blood loss. Within a matter of minutes Hana too was dead leaving her child alone and crying in the wilderness while trapped within her cold arms.
The crying from the baby however did not go un noticed by a passing village defense squadron who quickly picked up on the sound and went to investigate. When they arrived the group would find a bloody scene of a dead mother holding tightly onto a still dirtied child. Acting quickly the group snatched up the child, leaving the mothers body on the ground to rot, it was after all not their problem that some woman had died and left her child to die as well, but this child would be another potential soldier for the village to make use of. In the years following the rescue of the child he was given the name Koji, and nothing else as he was left nothing by the parents he never knew. And while his mother was of the Hyuuga clan, it appeared that he had for some reason not inherited her abilities as his eyes remained grey and never seemed to show any Hyuugan abilities.
While living in the village Koji was raised in a group home for orphaned children and like the rest of the children he never really allowed himself to open up to the others, accepting the label of an outcast from an early age, with the only thing that seemed to bring him any joy was to defy the orders of others and live his life on his own accord. This eventually lead him down the path of the shinobi, not to protect and serve his village, but to instead sustain his own way of life without needing others to tell him how to live.
