~ Why Crystal Academy you ask? Her parents wanted her to get the best education their money could afford, though they made this decision over a decade ago while she was 4. Desdemona puts on a traditional, conformist persona within it's halls, though it really isn't her style.

Hobbies:

Who's that girl?: Though no one openly tells her about parties, she has gotten used to eavesdropping fairly well, finding out about the occasional shin-dig or secret all nighter. Often times, she'll ignore them, but sometimes if it peaks her interest and she knows she can get out to go Desdemona will don a mirrored (gaga-esque) mask, obscuring her face, and dolling herself up to go party like a rockstar. They may be a rough pleasure in the morning, but it's nice to break free and go wild sometimes.


Give me a tune: She'll admit it, she no musician, but she LOVES some music. Dancing to it, minor edits on her laptop, and just listening, it's brings her up and don through her day. Des loves practically every genre too, though dancy techno is her favorite by far. Most times her earbuds from her black, heavily stickered, generic mp3 player are in, so you may have to get her attention with a bit more vigor than normal.

Strange Strange Girl: Another hidden, in her room only, hobby of Desi's is all things paranormal. She has a secret stash of books testing for latent abilities, palmistry, a few issues of the national inquirer, and some dvds of various footage she tries to catch for good deals online. As much as she loves all her quirky data, she feels she can't really confide with anyone about it for fear of being ridiculed.

Deadshot: Desi knows she's not gifted at most things athletic, but she does have some mean aim. She first picked up trap shooting back in a summer group she stayed in(since she had no parents(foster or original)). Guns make her feel more sure of herself, like she has no fear, regret, that time stops until she pulls that trigger, as odd and ironic as it is. It's exhilarating. Though no school she's been to has had any shooting programs(let alone allows practice time with firearms) she's relied on lining up hypothetical shots with marbles, books, and other small obscure things lying around her room.



Virtues:

An odd shoulder to lean on: She's not nearly as outgoing at Crystal Academy as she is when she leaves it's wall. Saying this, she often finds herself to be the listening ear among acquaintances and random girls here. Though she hasn't made any real friends at the school as of yet, Des is content with listening kindly and offering some light advice at the end.

Protective Nature: Desdemona will ALWAYS stand up for a friend(once she's made one). Even if it'll get her expelled, or beat up, or worse, she'd stand up for them without fault. Plus, you better not spill a drink on a friend of hers or it'll be on like donkey kong.

Eyes and ears of the school: Being a quiet student has it's advantages you know. She's gotten used to listening to conversations, spotting potential problems, and just being overall very observant around Crystal Academy. Sometimes she hears things she knows she isn't intended to hear, but most times it's just silly girlish chit chat.



Flaws:

Life of the Loner: Maybe the reason she hasn't made to many friends is because she hasn't gotten out and tried, but between the 'outings' draining her and the random chatter heard among so many chicks she really hasn't been all too interested in the students she's met here at Crystal Academy. Sometimes it's just easier to be alone though.

Lowered Expectations: Desdemona knows she won't have the best grades(and knows she is slightly below the average Joe), that she's not the cutest girl in school, or that she's going to get popular. Saying this, she doesn't feel the need to exert herself at school to be the best at most things and more or less has settled for taking the backseat with anything in it's walls. One could say she doesn't have any real goals in life, but in her own way Desdemona feels it's a safety net to prevent herself from getting letdown with the imminent failure that will be life once she is out of the protective walls of the school system. Luckily her parents left her enough money to at least go from Prep Schools, Colleges, and Institutes until she is at least 30(hopefully by then she'll have at least 1 degree)

What's the point?: It'd be fairly easy for someone to say Desi was unmotivated. One look at her grades, her likelihood at meeting students around Crystal Academy, or preparing for her future would deduce it instantly. Why go get into a good school when she's got no one to show her accomplishments to? For Des, it's just easier to put off the problem now and let it explode later.


PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION

Eyes: grey/blue eyes

Hair: very pale blond(but not bright platinum). It's loosely kept in a long braid, with one eye partially covered by a swooping bang

Face: oval shaped with light freckles

Clothes: Crystal Academy Uniform

Colouring: Pale, with an olive tint

Build: a bit bulkier than the normal girl, but she hides it well.

A few other things to know....

-Occasionally in her past phrases like 'Manic Depressive' or 'bi polar' have been tossed around, though she has never gotten any help for it.
-Her own turmoil had once brought her to the all time low and she has since determined herself never to fall under her own psychosis' grip so deep again.
-Desi is short. (like, 5'2 short)
-She believes she can 'etherically project'(similar to astral projection, though not an other plane, but the plane between ours and the astral....able to see both, but be in neither), though there is no official evidence.
-If you get her talking, and not just listening, she'll turn into 'life of the party' Des and be the most hyper person you know. It will be hard to shut her off from there.


The Ex - Family

Chloe Aigle[mother]- Chloe worked often as a fairly successful dj, spending her time flying and enjoying life away from a simple life. She often wouldn't be home for weeks, if not months, leaving Des with her husband, though he wasn't home much. At the age of 26(when Desi was only 4) she was diagnosed with cancer. When they first found evidence it had moved to her pancreas and was only a matter of time before she was going to inevitably pass. With the time she had left, she and her husband began sorting her assets and preparing what they'd do once she was gone. There weren't too many solid decisions made between the two of them, but her education was decided and a $350,000 bond was set aside to pay for education and the remainder be given to Desdemona at the age of 25. After 5 months of battling the big C, she finally slipped away in the night.

Matteo Aigle[father]- Unlike his wife's (un)stable job, Matteo always found himself between odd jobs, trying to make ends meet, though something would always seem to go wrong. He wasn't a terrible father, but he wasn't around much, didn't really try and work himself to death to make ends meet, or even strive to be a manager or CEO. Matteo was content with the ever-changing lifestyle he lived, and even as his wife began deteriorated, he still didn't settle on something more static to keep the 3 of them on top. When he wasn't at that weeks job, he was at the bar, spending what money he did often make(though his habits all but stopped once Chloe was hospitalized). When his wife became ill, he left his dearest Desdemona with a cousin(temporarily) of his while he catered to his other half while he could, and once her time came he didn't bode well. Money was difficult, with most of it tied to his daughter's future, and with the little stability he had, it didn't take long for it to overwhelm him. Within that first year after Chloe's death he wrote a long note, leaving Des in the care of her planned educational facilities and what to do with the tiny amount of money he himself had earned since her death, before he followed her into the dark.

Desdemona has trouble remembering either of them, with her being 'in the system' so long. All she seems to hear is how organized her mother was from each place she's gone, and that they loved her dearly.


A few facts you'd probably like to know about Canopus....
-It is the lowest visible star in the night sky
-It is second brightest to only Sirius, at least for those that can see it.
-It can only be seen from latitudes 37°18 from either pole, meaning if you are between the San Fransisco line and Valdivia, Chile you will never see it in your night sky, it's that low in the night sky.
-It is named after one of the Argonaunts, and once was a member in the Argo Navis(that has since then been broken up into 3 subsections), within the Carina subdivide of the constellation. It also resides in the larger Scorpius-Centaurus Association.
-It is a dying star, already past it's Red Giant days, making it a bright white star in the sky.(though it is often seen with a golden haze overcast it)

for her party animal attitude, might she be better fit at sovereign heights or even meadowview? i cant see her fitting in well with all the lady-like things, and the rigorous academic review as well. to me, a party animal would have a hard time fitting in with a school that is so ... proper? if you do want her to continue at that school, maybe explain why she's going there? perhaps a parent forced her, perhaps she has a secret ambition to achieve, who knows? xD

in saying that, you claim she knows that she's "not the most popular, smartest, etc." but what does that maker? is she the stupidest kid in school, or is she average joe? is she rumplestilskin or just a plain jane. i would delve into that a bit more, as i think it would help clear up some of the discrepancies with her school o v o

also; in the party animal section you claim that she has "boring days." why is that? does she find school boring? is it just simply not as fun as partying to her? is it because she doesn't have her music?

as for the music, you say that she likes a lot of aspects of it. is there one part that she likes in particular? maybe narrow it down because right now it just sounds like "she really likes music." i think describing her ipod/zune/whatever would be fun too- it would add a bit more depth? plus im just really curious xDD; /lame

i find it a bit hard to believe that she hasn't made ANY friends though. isn't there anyone in her life who she likes or depends on? i understand the parent thing, but i think everyone has at least one friend- especially if they're as party-loving and outgoing (at parties) as you say she is.

same with lowered expectations. while i understand she has them, is there one thing that she DOES expect highly of herself? i guess what i mean here is to give her some sort of goal or achievement? like the music- does she want to be a dj, or maybe she wants to be a paranormal newspaper reporter?

why a white star on the brooch? (this is just my own curiosity xD)
and again, this is just my suggestion, but maybe incorporate forget-me-nots somehow? it wouldn't be necessary, as i think you have a good design as it is, but when i think of forgotten, i always think of forget-me-nots xD <3

with her first attack; what if an enemy is straight up attacking her? like a monster coming straight towards her. can she use her attack and then suddenly "disappear" by making him think she's not there anymore? i suppose this is my own misunderstanding more than anything else, but i thought id throw it out there.

i like the second one and third one a lot, i think they are very well thought out. perhaps elaborate on what exactly the energy balls do? unless they are just damaging balls, as that's cool too <3

Just in general, there's a lot of places where it seems like you started sentences, and then changed half way. XD; Maybe a quick read-over would be good to fix up the strangely worded sentences? It made it a little difficult to read at parts.

On her personality, I find it a little strange that she's such a loner, but hears about parties to go to. I would understand if she just went out to a generalized type party, like a club (although, she's underage for anything too exciting), but I would imagine she would be even more estranged if she just randomly showed up at a college party.

I'm not really sure what you're trying to say about her Eagle Eye virtue. Is she perceptive about other people? Is she good at picking out body language or emotion? The way you have it now makes it seem like she's telepathic. D:

Her humor (or lack thereof) flaw is one of those strangely worded sentences I was talking about earlier. XD; Also, I'm not really sure how her Loner and Humor flaws are flaws.

Does she like being alone? What is the difference between being alone and her being just another face in the crowd (like at her parties?).

Her Humor flaw needs more fleshing out. And I'm also curious as to why you say she has a lack of socialization when she seems to be such a social butterfly.

About her family history.... I think you should really make more emphasis about her family in her profile. All I got was that she was ignored by her parents, but they had somehow saved up well over... let's see... assuming Prep School is a mere 10k a year for three years... then a less expensive college/university at another 10k a year for four years... they would have had to save up a good 70k for just tuition, not including food, transportation, clothing, etc. I mean, hopefully they had good health insurance before her mother was diagnosed, because it would be difficult for her to get good coverage once she was sick.

I also find it strange that she's so unmotivated to do her best after everything her parents did for her. BUT you can also use that lack of motivation as a stronger personality trait if you expand upon it. Such as... why bother trying when she's already lost so much? But then it doesn't seem as though she had a very close relationship with her parents, so I'm not sure how that'll work out. D:

Maybe try linking her personality traits together more? With her hobbies, even! They just seem rather disjointed right now, but so desperately wanting to work.
