AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORMName: Marosa Lachlann Tramaine Feyrath Nicknames: Maro, Rath Gender: Male Age: 17 Faction/Race Demon; Faerie (Gancanagh) Natural Talent: Gancanagh have an addictive toxin in their skin that makes others addicted to them. This only lasts for five to ten minutes with a brief touch at first year. Higher years will result in longer times depending on the amount of contact. "The Gancanagh are thought to have an addictive toxin in their skin that make the humans they seduce literally addicted to them. The women seduced by this type of faerie typically die from the withdrawal, pining away for the Ganacanagh's love or fighting to the death for his love. The faerie is typically depicted carrying a clay pipe, though he does not smoke it because faeries generally detest smoke." (Note: It's man's perception that fey detest smoke, though this isn't necessarily true - it may be that man has it mixed with iron, as most fey burn at the touch of iron on their skin.) "The Gancanagh seduced young maidens with his enchanting voice and whispered nonsense then would promptly disappear, leaving the maiden to cry away for him. Few of his victims live for very long afterwards dying of despair and a broken heart. To meet him meant bad luck, and whoever was ruined by ill-judged love was said to have been with the gancanagh." EXTRA INFO: At adulthood, a Gancanagh's wings shrivel up and die, or wither away. The reason behind this is thought to be able to blend within humans more readily, whereas other faeries are stuck with their wings and are found out. A fully grown Gancanagh has no 'other form', so when they lose their wings, they are thought to be 'human' by other humans. Easier to blend in, easier to pick off the unsuspecting herd one by one. Being around a Gancanagh makes you interested, almost as if you're mesmerized or charmed. It could make each individual act differently, but to humans it's a sensual/sexual attraction. The Gancanagh also have no shadow, and always carries a clay pipe with him at all times. More Info of Gancanagh: Blacken the Day, Warriors of Myth, and Yahoo Answers. Personality: Me? Snobbish? No... I'm just picky.Marosa doesn't really appreciate others at first, but he doesn't really shove it in their face; he just brushes them off as if they were a gnat on his sleeve, unless they have something unique about them that garners his interest. He is a fey true; any subject that gets a faerie's interest is bound to have a very annoying tagalong for a bit, as faeries like to stick their nose into other people's business. Quite. Often. (Though his main reason for acting distant is that he doesn't WANT to get close to ANYONE. He'll still be interested in talking to ghouls/boils, he'll just act like he's not interested most of the time. It's an ongoing inner battle with himself.) Don't touch me.Marosa does not like to be touched. Ever. He's afraid of anyone getting close enough to touch him, and then fall in love with him. To him, that's not love -- that's lust. Because of the Gancanagh Faerie's abilities, he's afraid to have anyone "fall for him" when he knows that it's the toxin in their skin that's making them do that. That's the main reason why he brushes people off most of the time, as well as the fact of being afraid of his true Gancanagh self, feeding off of others' energies. You seem... intriguing. For Gancanagh, touching people equals feeding, in a sense. The Gancanagh needs to touch people in order to keep himself sane, in order not to get weak. If they go a prolonged time without touching anyone, the weaker and hungrier they get. Unfortunately, touching other residents of Halloween leaves them with a need to touch others, due to the toxins on them becoming too much to handle by themselves. They need to touch other people to get rid of it/detox themselves before they themselves become weaker/more narcissistic/get the shakes/etcetc. (Thank you Maru!) Love? Sod love.Love is something Marosa is NOT interested in right now. Although, he will fall head over heels over someone who DOESN'T react to his race's ability; I.E. if they touch his skin and don't immediately fall for him, though he'll freak out in general if anyone does touch him. It'll take him some time, but he's not overtly looking - just secretly hoping. Note: If there is someone that truly falls in love with a Gancanagh/Marosa, they are unaffected by the Gancanagh charm/curse. This also does not work if said target is in love with someone else.Touching equals--This does not work through clothing -- just skin on skin contact. You bet your life that Marosa will still freak out if he's touched, but for the most part, if you avoid direct skin, your kid will be fine and unaffected by Marosa's ability. I look...Marosa constantly worries about his looks. A lot. This stems a lot from being touched, as well; he's fine if a curl falls out from behind his ear - hey, good sex appeal - but if someone bumps him in the hallway, he'll freak out a little bit and go to fix whatever bumped out of place. He doesn't really worry about appearance; it's more the fact that he has to make sure his skin is completely covered, because of his fear of being touched. There's a good chance that he'll get over this if it happens to him enough times, but for now, he'll freak out constantly over slight bumps and nudges, so much that it might seem he's claustrophobic. Hey, no one ever said Faeries were sane. Another quirk/fault Marosa has is messing with his hair or clothing when he gets agitated. He messes with it more when he gets more agitated or upset, starting to find faults with his hair or clothing that weren't there before. It's rather amusing to watch, but Marosa will get short and snappy with his responses. I rolled a natural 20.Dungeons & Humans is about the only game that Marosa enjoys. He loves playing a character he can control, without having any strings attached. It's not a real thing, and the fact that he can control something that's not real just tickles his fancy. This is one way he can really let go and not worry about things. History: It's been said that if humans fear something enough... it comes true. That was well enough when a little boy was found in the pumpkin patch, not making a sound... yet when the older Gancanagh Faerie stumbled upon him, he was curious to find that the boy was the same species as him, and had an unusual awed curiosity seemingly unlike other Gancanagh Faeries that rather disturbed him a little. He took the babe home, naming him Marosa - determined to teach him what he was and how to use it to the best of his advantage; that proved harder than usual, however, as the boy wanted to make friends and collect trinkets. This frustrated the older Gancanagh, and he ended up destroying the trinkets Marosa had collected, in order to get him to see his point of view. Faeries - especially the Gancanagh kind - were meant to be feared and respected, especially when trying to get into the Unseelie Court. It took him a few tries to get Marosa's attention, as the boy Just. Wouldn't. Quit, but the older Gancanagh felt relieved and proud when Marosa finally started acting like a true Faerie, and began to act like his surrogate father expected. Why did they enroll at the academy? (Let us know what they think they would learn there, what are their school interests ,what do they hope to gain?) ■ Marosa doesn't really like the life of a "faerie", and he wants to find another way to live - either that, or find who he really is/come to terms as to who and what he is. Whichever comes first. ■ Father figure wanted him to learn to dirty his hands, to appreciate and respect having others do work for you. ■ To find a soulmate. (Or flirt with ladies.) ■ To learn manners! And respect for adults. Cough, cough. List of Classes!Shadowcraft 101 Creature Feature 101 Curses, Hexes, and Spells Botany Basics Minipet Training 101 (?) Art of Illusion (?) Literature Class (?)Clubs!Dungeons and Humans Fear: Emotional Manipulation Marosa's FEAR is the ability to sense and invoke feelings in others, as well as altering them to his will. He can feel how others are really feeling; whether they are sad, happy, angry... but he doesn't know the reason why. In otherwords, he can make other feel a certain feeling if he puts enough concentration into it, but if he loses that concentration, then he'll end up feeling what they are feeling. In battle, this will work as Tainted Fang. With the ability to control/sense emotions, he can do damage over time by playing with one's emotions, changing the emotions by manipulating the target's adrenaline, endorphins, and pheromones. (This also ties into his natural ability as a Gancanagh, because if anyone touches him, they are much easier to manipulate.) (Marosa can also manipulate the intensity of the emotion they are feeling, but I don't forsee that happening until second or third year.) First year - He can only do this when he's really close to the person he wants to invoke feelings in. He doesn't have much control over this, and can end up feeling his opponent's emotion instead of feeding them the emotion he wants. He can also sense emotions by just being close to them. Second year - He has quite a bit more experience under his belt, and can actually control this now; though if a pretty face walks by, there is a good chance he can lose control. His range can go a little farther to feel what others are feeling. Third year - Almost full mastery over it, though he can still lose control. Now that he's had practice at it, he can quickly snap out of it - he knows his own feelings much more than another's. Physical Description:Eye Colour: Gold. Hair Colour/Style: Red and curly, with the ends of his hair a silvery cream color (only on the bottom of his curls). EXACT example can be seen here. ) Skin Colour: Very pale (almost a milky cream-white) Clothing Style/Colours: Very 'down to earth' clothing, with green tones, and a kilt. Also, his skull pun will be on the bottom of his kilt, as a kilt pin. Kilt pins are worn to hold the kilt down, so it's extra heavy when, for example, the wind blows. Reference for kilt pin seen here. The exact place the kilt pins are matters as well. Extra: NO pointed ears, please! Has faerie wings, only they are deteriorating slightly - like a leaf starts to dry out and crackle and crack everywhere. Also has a clay pipe, but he won't be seen smoking it anytime soon... References: Clothing is seen here. The artist is free to change a few things if it makes it easier! <3 The only two things I ask for sure on the clothing is the kilt and clay pipe.

■ History
While growing up as a small faerie, Marosa loved to get his hands on anything, whether it be a shiny bauble, a small pebble, a small husk of an animal... he collected it and put it into his small little pouch, just in case it was "needed for later". He then traded it to small friends he'd created, for certain information from a selkie, or an herb or two from the dryads... small trinkets in trade for useful things that he could use.
This went on for quite some time until his father found out on one morning's antics, grabbed the pouch, and set it on fire in front of the little boy's eyes. Marosa demanded it back, cried, and then pleaded, but all to no avail; his father was unmoving. His father turned his hand over, the bag destroyed with the faerie fire, letting the ashes fall onto the ground in front of the boy.
"It is useless to collect such trinkets. Faeries can gather anything they want without lifting a finger. They don't need such paltry things besides." His father scoffed, then walked away.
Left alone with the ashes of his bag, Marosa curled his nails into the palms of his hands, feeling the pain but ignoring it. He didn't understand why his father acted the way he did. The things he'd collected... they may have not been useful for faeries, but they were useful to other people, and getting information from them. Trading! Why didn't his father see that?
Marosa tried to pursue the same actions again, collecting trinkets when he thought his father wasn't looking, and ended up with a severe lecture. The third time, it resulted to a sound beating.
Marosa grew morose in his moods, and finally went along with his father's wishes; learning politics (which he didn't really pay attention to), and learning mannerisms in being a faerie. He spent years doing this, all the while yearning to converse with his former friends whom he'd been collecting the trinkets for, but all the while growing farther and farther away.
He soon became the worse for wear, and put up an act of being a spoiled prince, which his father... seemed to take to rather well. He ordered minions around, and the lesser fey under them... as well as challenged greater fey, and lost most of those challenges. But still, he remained looking proud.
He never gave up trying to prove himself, and it wasn't long before he was in a shell of himself, giving everyone the impression that he had a tough and uncaring exterior, all the while just wishing he could be loved without being feared. His father looked on, all the while becoming more endearing of his son.
One night, Marosa's father took him aside and walked to the balcony, an arm outstretching to the stars. "Gancanagh are PROUD... we use things, and then throw them away. Everything is an object to us... everything is meant to be used, and used again." Looping an arm around his son's shoulders, the father pulled Marosa close and sighed. "It is time I showed you something." Smiling a wicked smile, he walked off with Marosa in tow, leading him to a barred door.
"Do not make a sound when I open this door. Do you understand?" Marosa's face hardened, and his father took that as a good sign, opening the door.
In the middle of the room was a huddled husk of what looked to be a woman, shaking and shivering. Upon second glance, Marosa noticed the webbed toes and fingers, and the brown eyes with no irises that suddenly stared up at him.
It was an old childhood friend of his, one that was a selkie.
"She's been waiting here all this time for you, you realize." His father whispered soothingly in his ear. "I've had the servants feed her, but she's refused to budge, always pining for your love..."
"No." Marosa gritted his teeth together, shaking his head. "I don't believe you."
"Believe you me, Marosa. Ever since that first day you touched her, her heart's been yours. And you touched her more than once... do you remember? Those trinkets you had, the ones you traded... didn't you ever wonder why they all hung around you? Why they always sought your company?" He laughed, circling around the selkie on the ground now. "I've kept her here, promising to bring you, and still, yet, she pines..."
"I hate you." Marosa's hands curled into fists, and he shook his head. "I will never-"
"You cannot deny being a Gancanagh faerie, Marosa. You simply are." His father twirled a finger in the air. "She is your problem. I just merely delayed it." He grinned. "I did take enjoyment in it, however. There's just some things you can't replace... such as terrorizing certain people. If I'd had a little more time... I could have made her the ultimate slave."
Marosa stood there, eyes widening in disbelief. He wished he could make his father FEEL the emotions he did, to FEEL how the woman felt. He just... treated her like an object! He hadn't meant to do that - he hadn't even KNOWN! It was almost as if his father had been...
... planning this all along...
All of a sudden... it all made sense. He didn't even realize his father had been in the corner, cowering in fear, same as the woman... until he realized that they were doing it because of him.
Overwhelmed and disbelieving, Marosa fell against the wall, breathing hard. His emotions retracted from his father, no longer controlling him.
Standing up, Marosa's father brushed himself off and gave a distasteful glance to the selkie on the ground, and then one to Marosa. "Looks like you found your FEAR, lad..." He gave a small tch. "You can't escape what you are. You were born for this. It's high time you started acting like it." He walked towards the door, leaving Marosa sitting there.
"I'm sending you to a special school. Hopefully it will whip you into shape." Mouth curving down disapprovingly, he left the door wide open, with Marosa alone with the selkie.
The selkie reached forward slowly, scooting closer to Marosa until her arms wrapped around him, her head resting on his collarbone as she became relaxed, breathing in his scent, becoming familiar with him once again like she had all those years ago.
Marosa never moved. He never even noticed.

Bloodlust Dante First Crit! rofl Well First and Foremost, I love the backstory you provided. It does beg to ask what he will study in A.A. How will he deal with sports or in battle when theres a high chance of bodily contact? Thank you! whee I... never even thought about that. XD WHAT AN AWESOME QUESTION. I think he'll either stay completely away from sports, or wear layers upon layers of clothing just so he doesn't have to do skin to skin contact. It reeeally depends on the group of friends he has, and what will intrigue him once he actually gets into the school.

Going to leave you a crit, since this guy is pretty awesome. ^^ Twenty (Or less) Questions time~ (Since that's the only way I can do a good crit. orz;; )
-- So, it mentions in his "Why Enrolling" catagory that Marosa would like to find a soulmate, or just flirt in general. But eariler, it states that love is something he's not interested in at the moment. Did you mean that he's going to start opening up and be more likely to date or fall in love in the later school years, but not right now? (Sorry if this question is oblivious, it just seemed a bit paradoxical. ^^; )
-- How would he react when forced into a situation where a lot of people have to interact in a less-than-roomy enviroment? (Like, in the Christmas event where the students were on the train, how would he handle it?)
-- One of my biggest questions: If he was to meet someone who, seriously, had little to no personal bubble, how would he react to them? Appalled? Would he just freak out if they were within two feet of him? What?
-- Since he's not too friendly with anyone in general, how does he feel about the hierarchy of HalloweenTown, with demons on top and monsters at bottom? Does he react any differently when talking to a student of a lower 'class' than himself?
Just some questions if had, and I hope you get him. ^^ If you want, you can crit Quarria for me. She's like the opposite of Marosa, on the opinion of personal bubbles. (And I personally think that if we both get our characters, they would make for a ridiculous roleplay, since Quarria has, like, NO personal bubble, to a reasonable extent.)

^^; ) Thanks for this question! Yes, that's exactly what I mean - I'll reword it better now that you brought this up. heart He'll be closed off due to how he was raised, but start opening up around certain people. :3 Trira -- How would he react when forced into a situation where a lot of people have to interact in a less-than-roomy enviroment? (Like, in the Christmas event where the students were on the train, how would he handle it?) If starting out, he'd freak out a little bit and try to go to the nearest corner. If he's attended for a while, he'd be used to it - just have to wear lots and lots of layers of clothing. XD Trira -- One of my biggest questions: If he was to meet someone who, seriously, had little to no personal bubble, how would he react to them? Appalled? Would he just freak out if they were within two feet of him? What? He'd find them INTRIGUING. He'd try to poke at them and really wonder if they had a personality or not. He wouldn't really be freaked out, just be really confused and more than likely interested in learning about them. Trira -- Since he's not too friendly with anyone in general, how does he feel about the hierarchy of HalloweenTown, with demons on top and monsters at bottom? Does he react any differently when talking to a student of a lower 'class' than himself? Honestly, he really doesn't care. Like in his backstory -- his family (which I totally need to expand upon more than his father) really frowned upon him interacting with more people other than faeries. He just... doesn't give a s**t; he is who he is, and he befriends/hangs around who he wants. Even though his father tried to train him out of it, he still goes to his basic personality, which is being interested/intrigued in everyone and everything. (This is still a true fey trait, he just... didn't really get the "let's ******** with everyone's mind" mindset like his father. XD; ) Trira Just some questions if had, and I hope you get him. ^^ If you want, you can crit Quarria for me. She's like the opposite of Marosa, on the opinion of personal bubbles. (And I personally think that if we both get our characters, they would make for a ridiculous roleplay, since Quarria has, like, NO personal bubble, to a reasonable extent.) I would LOVE that. XD And I would LOVE to rp with you if we do get both of our characters. whee Thank you for all the questions! I'll go ahead and crit you back. heart

PICKED AND PICKED AND PICKED. I swear it's not personal, I went in looking for things to nitpick. xDDD
MOSTLY I HAVE QUESTIONS FOR YOU TO CONSIDER and things.
- When you say he likes playing D&D, remember that it's D&H, not D&D! ;D - I thought his name was female at first. Does it have a special meaning? Was it chosen for its effeminate sound? I'm a sucker for names (even though I hate naming things myself), so it might be worth adding. - His age should probably be listed in human years, and also mention how old he looks for his future artist! ;D - He hates touching and doesn't like people, and yet he wants love and flirting/sex appeal? Is this intentionally conflicting? If so, how does one impact the other?
on his past: Does he resent his father for ruining his things? For the stress and pressure growing up? Is he damaged for his unfortunate childhood and his desire to be something else? Does it impact his relationships with people, or influence his personality traits? What happened to his selkie friend? Is she likely to come up again, or did he forget her? Did she die? Did he feel bad if she did?
As a final note, I would tap him. I would tap him so hard. When ever you get him (and when ever I get... Torrence, probably?) I want to plot so hard. B: <333

Rabid Ice Weasel PICKED AND PICKED AND PICKED. I swear it's not personal, I went in looking for things to nitpick. xDDD
MOSTLY I HAVE QUESTIONS FOR YOU TO CONSIDER and things.
- When you say he likes playing D&D, remember that it's D&H, not D&D! ;D
As a final note, I would tap him. I would tap him so hard. When ever you get him (and when ever I get... Torrence, probably?) I want to plot so hard. B: <333 Oh no, I don't take it personal at all! I ask for crit so I can DEFINITELY flesh him out more. XD heart THANK YOU! I would have definitely missed that, I'll change it to D&H. heart Rabid Ice Weasel - I thought his name was female at first. Does it have a special meaning? Was it chosen for its effeminate sound? I'm a sucker for names (even though I hate naming things myself), so it might be worth adding. The quest DID actually start with a female (of another thread), but I just fell in love with this name for him so I kept it. I'm really tempted to have feminine sounding names for all his family of fey, just because - from their point of view - they sound "pretty", and that's just another layer of sheen that adds to their dark beauty. I still don't have a name for his father, so I'll have to look :3 Rabid Ice Weasel - His age should probably be listed in human years, and also mention how old he looks for his future artist! ;D Okay, thanks! Never even thought of this~ heart heart Rabid Ice Weasel - He hates touching and doesn't like people, and yet he wants love and flirting/sex appeal? Is this intentionally conflicting? If so, how does one impact the other? Basically, he wants someone who isn't affected by the touch of the Gancanach - someone who touches him and doesn't really show any interest at all, or shows that they're not really swooning head over heels after coming in contact with him. He doesn't want contact with others because he's afraid of the outcome, like with what happened in his past. He doesn't want slaves, he wants friends. So, in otherwords, yes it's intentionally conflicting because he's trying to find out who he really is and doesn't want to admit that his father's right. Rabid Ice Weasel on his past: Does he resent his father for ruining his things? For the stress and pressure growing up? Is he damaged for his unfortunate childhood and his desire to be something else? Does it impact his relationships with people, or influence his personality traits? What happened to his selkie friend? Is she likely to come up again, or did he forget her? Did she die? Did he feel bad if she did? Yes, he has resentment, but he still respects his father (Just resents him quietly). He kinda fell into the mold of a Gancanagh but he just lost interest in everything when his father kept pushing him to be a "true" Gancanagh and embrace his heritage. So there are points where he'll be really into something, and other things he'll look like he's interested but then just... shut down. Also, his relationships with people hit the shock factor when his father showed him just what the Jack he actually did to his selkie friend. It hit hard. About his selkie friend, it is very likely that she will come back. I really really want to leave it open if anyone wants to grab her and make a character of her, and have a history with Marosa and such. whee Rabid Ice Weasel As a final note, I would tap him. I would tap him so hard. When ever you get him (and when ever I get... Torrence, probably?) I want to plot so hard. B: <333 Thank you! I would LOVE to plot with you. whee
