Name: Quarria Reikis.

Nicknames: Nene (She's not sure how this happened. Seriously.) Reikis. (Occationally goes by her last name.)
Gender: Female.
Age: In human/dragon age proportioning, she'd be about sixteen-seventeen years old. (Dragonially, still not fully matured, between adult and flight-capable hatchling.)
Faction/Race: Monster / Feathered Amphithere (Draco Americanus)
Please Note: Amphitheres are not Feathered Serpents/Quetzalcoatls. They are, in fact, usually, dragons. Well, dragons that don't have any legs. >u>;; (She might be referred to as a serpent, but that because I'm usually too lazy to type out "feathered dragon that doesn't have any legs and looks like a serpent". ^^; )
(Image to right done by Nekoluch, quickly colored by Trira. ^^; There are a few appearance differences, so refer also to written information.)
Personality:
-- "Well, aren't you a curious little serpent? I bet you'd never bite..." (AKA CURIOUS AND KIND)
Quarria has always been a curious little hatchling. She often would follow her parents around, badgering them with questions or concerns. She always wanted to know everything, from the average weight of the llama or buffalo they were eating for dinner to the rate of solar eclipses in comparison to meteor showers. While she seems so carefree and blissfully unaware sometimes (to the average person that doesn't know her), Quarria is actually quite concerned and intelligent when you get her attention (which isn't that hard, since she's almost always paying attention to everything, even if she doesn't seem like it.) She doesn't mean to, but her true personality tends to make people feel as if she's been decieving them; They expect her to be a simple girl, when she's genuinely intelligent and kind. Call it her natural serpent's deception. She usually does care, sincerely, and she tends to express herself much like a curious serpent once you get to know her. For that is what she is; an ever-curious Amphithere. Although...she tends to get extremely interested when she likes something (and she likes some pretty weird things). She tends to get easily enthralled, but she rarely obsesses unless she is truely intrigued. She also tends to hoard things. (Hey, she's a dragon/serpent. What did you expect?)
-- "You only get so much warning before a serpent strikes." (AKA RAGEFACE.)
She's got a long memory, and she doesn't appreciate deception (ironic, no?) or anyone lying to her, or doing anything she considered unjustified from her intellectual snake view. She'll leave you with a reptilians' stare, unhuman and unreadable. If the offenses are repeated though, or you further antagonize her, don't be surprised to find her mouth starting to spark with the held-back flames of her anger. (No, seriously, she's gonna smash you in the face with a fireball if you don't leave her be.) She's not quick to forgive, and you're going to really have to make it up to her if you want to be put back in her good graces. Even then, she's going to be very suspitious or paranoid of you, and don't expect forgiveness for a long time. While she is a dragon, she acts more like a serpent, and that ranges all the way into her rage. She might bite your hand if it gets to close to her and she doesn't like you, and those teeth aren't just for show.
-- "Personal bubble? What's that?" (AKA Very little awareness of personal space.)
Quarria doesn't like people pulling her wing feathers, but she'll certainly shield you with her wings if she wants. (She had a tramatic experience when she was younger involving her feathers and someone who apparently needed a very big quill. It wasn't a pretty sight, and the feather-stealer apparently has never recoved from some of the panicked third-degree burns she launched.) She's not afraid to get up in your face though. And she will, if she sees something that interests her there. The idea of a personal bubble doesn't really exist for other people in her mind, as it's not really possible for a serpent to have much of a personal bubble. It's likely she'll constrict another student into passing out in a battle as her true form, so personal space has never really been a problem for her. So, for better clarification, she's willing to get close to someone and examine their face, arm, hand, head, whatever, if she feels like it, and if another person does something similar to her, as long as it's nothing she would consider bad, she'd generally think this was normal. Just don't pull at her wings or feathers and you'll be good.
-- "Well, if you want her to be nice to you, you should just throw her out in some snow and make sure you're the only source of warmth around." (AKA Survival by any means necessary. (Also, Reptilian Blood.))
As an Amphithere dragon, her body functions much more like a serpent or reptile then much of a normal dragon. That means, she's got to regulate her body temperature. Is it roasting outside? She's probably under a rock somewhere. Is it freezing outside? She's probably hugging someone for dear warmth. (Or, in a certain snowy wasteland, functioning as a living train.) As such, her emotions or mindset can be changed or determined by the temperature wherever she is. While she tries to be kind in general, if you want her to hang out on a steamingly warm summer night, she's going to sound either lethargic or be pouring a cooler out on her head, or give some sharp reply and run off to find a nice, cold cave. She might seem a little more friendly if it's freezing outside, as she's probably going to be making a friendship for survival; She's going to need someone to snuggle up against for their body warmth. Survival by any means necessary, right?
--"THIS IS MY JUSTICE." (Partial continuation of "You only get so much warning..." part. AKA EXTREME RAGEFACE.)
Quarria Reikis might be a monster, but she has a very strong sense of justice when it has to rear it's head. A very strong, logical sense of justice. You stole her box of crayons? Too bad; now she's going to take them back and something for compensation. Your grandfather got sick and you needed one of her scales to make a magical cure? Tough luck, unless you REALLY prove to her that it was worth it, or she's in one of her compassionate moods. Were you bullying on of her friends? Prepare for a revenge-exacting Amphithere on your tail. Actions tend to speak louder then motives, but motives do speak on your behalf, and on occation, change her mind about her fury. (You better speak to her snakey logic, too, or you're not talking your way out of her 'justice.') Some people think that she might be two-halves of the same person, or that she's bipolar or something, if they see her exacting her justice after you were just talking to the usually kind girl. What they're seeing is actually just the personality of Quarria as a person and her inner serpent's instincts conflicting. (Hopefully people won't have to see her true serpent mind-set. It's not pretty.)
--"LOGIC." (There is no AKA for this. (Although it ties in with her "Justice" part.))
Quarria's mind functions in a very peculiar way. It formulates logical analysis above all else, and places the result of this logic as the correct anything. If her logic deems something necessary, even if it goes against her own happiness, she'll most likely follow her logic unless it required her to die or something (Since, if she died, she could no longer be an asset to anyone, and thus it would be more logical for her to remain alive and continue to help in the second-best way). (An example of this was in the Christmas event, where she talked herself ("logic'd her" as she'd call it) into choosing the coldest path possible, knowing that she herself would have a harder time as she is a reptile. Why? Her mind connected that since it was cold, she could provide warmth with her feathers, and carry people who needed carrying, and thus was needed more in the harshest enviroment than in the warmer ones. Even though she had a chance of freezing to death by choosing that path, she chose it because she was needed more there, and her own feelings do not apply.) She has a tendancy to remove herself, her own feelings and safety, from the logical equation. What she wants is not important, her logic would tell her, if there is a better result or benefit from removing her own stand from play. (Thus, as in the Christmas event, she placed the needs of others as a whole above her own comfort.) If the result of her bearing some hardship will cause a better result in general for others, she will generally gladly bear that hardship.
Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy?
Always the curious hatchling, the youngest of the nest, Quarria often was seen trailing after her brother and sisters, or parents, and soon was the only child at home. Her parents, clever, planning Amphitheres of a high enough standing, managed to gather enough wealth (Again, they're dragons; they hoard. What did you expect?) that they have been able to send all of their hatchlings off to the best schools. Namely, Amityville Academy.
Quarria's parents had always encouraged her to explore her intelligence and curious-ness. She seemed like such a good model of an young amphithere, curious and yet possessing a snake's logic. They supported her in her questions and her obsessions, although sometimes they started to get a little dubious of her enthrallment. Like, with her current obsession, an obsession that's existed since she was just hatched, and always been there throughout her life, in the back fo her head. Her obsession with limbs.
That's right, limbs. Hands, toes, digits, feet, legs, arms, whatever. She's absolutely, positively obsessed with limbs. (That's why it wouldn't be weird to see her run up to another student and grab their hand to look at it or something.) This has always worried her parents, since, you know, THEY DON'T HAVE ANY. They're Amphitheres. Dragons without limbs. 'Winged Serpents'. For a young amphithere to obsess over such a thing was not normal, not normal at all. The Reikis line didn't tamper with such silly things. They didn't need limbs, and limbs were simply things that were no longer necessary for their survival. Why care about limbs then?
So, when her parents, trying to get her to a place that could better grow/fill her thirst for knowledge and feed her curiousity -- and perhaps stifle this abnormal obsession --, suggested to her that they could afford for her to attend Amityville Academy, they were relieved when she lit up at the idea and coiled around them in a make-shift hug of pure joy. She'd mentioned to them that she was interested in most of the classes there, too. Anything that could feed her thirst for knowledge. Of course, one thing had slipped through their plan to send her away to stunt this crazed obsession.
Academy students had to shift into a different form when at class. A more-humanoid form.
A form with limbs.
FEAR: "Lethal Lantern."
-- Quarria's, like most Amphitheres', flaming breath comes from a substance they develop and secrete into/is-already in their mouth. Some say it's a gas, others say it's venom, and there are many more theories floating around, and for the sake of common knowledge, they've decided to just call it a venom. (Since Amphithere's look like winged snakes anyway, right?) Well, this venom is extremely flammable, and an Amphithere can spark this venom using a flint-like tooth in their mouth. Thus, by breathing it out, they can 'breathe' fire.
It wouldn't be unusual to see a lantern fueled by this flammable venom, as it burns off and leaves no trace. It also will just burn until there is no venom left (and it burns at a relatively slower pace then most candles), and then self-extinguishes. Some people use Amphithere venom instead of oil, or candles, or any other substance that can be lit, for that matter, in their lamps and lanterns.
As such, Quarria's FEAR is actually saving up this venom and then spewing it over herself or into the air. (Which she then flies up into it or something to that extent.) She then lights the venom that is on her body, and catches fire. (Think of 'How to Train Your Dragon: Monsterous Nightmare'-style.) Which can be quite terrifying for her opponents, on top of everything else. (Think about it: A roughly twenty to thirty-five foot winged snake/dragon that just suddenly CAUGHT ON FIRE.) For as long as venom is on her, she's going to stay on fire without getting burned. Thus, if she manages to constrict you, not only might she crush your ribcage, but also give you burns too. :'D
There's actually quite a few downsides to this FEAR. For one thing, if she manages NOT to get the venom all over her, she's going to be the one with some burns, as the flames usually sustain themselves on the venom, instead of her. No venom, it'll just burn out, and give her some burns before sputtering out. Which brings up another point. Quarria can only make so much venom at one time. Thus, if she runs out of venom because she used this, she can't use her FIREPOWAH anymore. (AKA can't breathe fire after this, if she's already used a lot of venom before.) No venom, no fire. Period. And if she doesn't get all the venom out, or accidently breathes in while firing, she's going to get a mouth-burn, too. Also, while the venom burns rather well, it's still just fire. It can be put out. Soak her after she's lit herself up in flames, and guess what? No more fire. (And she probably can't fly to well, but that's beside the point.) So, if she's already used this, and is out of venom / you soaked her down / etc. you're pretty much just fighting a huge, angry, winged snake.
Also, no matter how accurate or perfect her spewing is, as a first year, she can only cover roughly thirty-three percent of her body. (Second year is sixty-six, roughly. Third year, it's all of her.)
In Pokemon terms:
Roll two six-sided dice. As a first year, these two numbers are the sections of her body that got lit on fire. (If they're the same number, uh...re-roll. Or something.) They go, Head, Torso, Right Wing, Left Wing, Body, Tailtip. Every time Quarria attacks after that, she must roll the two dice. If she doesn't roll one of those two numbers, she does normal damage. (Aka attacked with a non-flaming body part.) If she rolls one of those numbers, or both of them, attack does double damage because she's ON FIRE. (She stays on fire for a few turns as the vemon burns off, or until someone puts the fire out physically. (Like, dumps water on her.)) Generate a number between 1-10. If I roll/generate a 1-3, she missed part of her body, and thus she takes some flame-damage too. (Can still attack, but she's taken some damage too.) Roll/generate a 4-9, she's successfully lit herself on fire. Good for her. Also, if she's used to much venom already (Already launched 3-4 flame-breath attacks), and then uses this, she's out of venom for the rest of the battle, or at least a few posts of the battle. If you roll a 10, who knows?(Aka It's a mystery number. It might just be a dud, or she might just burn out really fast. Or she gets a critical hit or something. I have no idea for 10, actually. XD;; )(Please note: All of these numbers are probably going to change for the worse as I get a fuller understanding of the battle system to make this FEAR more fail / first-year-like.)
Physical Description:
Eye Colour: Sea blue. (See reference.)
Hair Colour/Style: Around the same color of her feather crest, and slowly changes to follow the colors of her wings.
STYLE ONE: Long normal hair, that has a few feathers sticking out of it in random places.
STYLE TWO: Feathered hair (and yes, I mean hair that is made out of feathers).
Both styles reach to around her upper thigh. (Somehow, she managed to make it not interfere with her flight capabilities.) She does have bangs in both styles, although sometimes she'll brush them back. (I put two different types of hair because I'm tied between both, so I'm just going to let the artists choose which one they want to do. ^^; )
Skin Colour: A lighter then dark Blue. (See Amphithere Reference. Artist could use her chest-plate colors, or her scale colors.)
Build: Long, thin, and tall. (Think about it, she's a serpent-body-type turned humanoid.)
Clothing Style/Colours: Snake-skin leather. Something more tribal then not, and she generally covers herself, so she's pretty modest. (Think modest mesoamerican? o u o;; (FAIL, TRIRA. FAIL.)) And she's not a punk. She's probably barefoot, too, or wearing hiking boots. (She likes getting to look at her toes, if she can. (Of if the artist wants, they can give her dragon-y feet. Artistic License and all that.) Probably wearing what would be considered the tee-shirt of tribal clothing, and a pair of pants. Probably earthy-colors or the light blue of her frontal-plates, or darker colors to match Halloween (like blacks or the dark blue on her wings) or the dark colors of the fabric strip that hangs off her tail band. (I almost want to see if someone could involve snake-skin in somehow. XD; Again, Artistic License allowed, for the most part.) Since my description is apparently fail-tastic, here's a better one: Modest tee-shirt with tribal designs on it. A pair of pants. Colors can be her colors, the color of that piece of fabric that hangs from her tail, earthy/darker colors, or Halloween colors. Barefoot or in hiking boots. (Artist can pretty much do whatever with her clothes, besides putting her in a dress/skirt. Kay? Kay. o u o Artistic License and what not. ^^)
Extra: Even in humanoid form, she still carries over many amphithere traits, namely:
-Her ivory colored horns still poke out of her skull, although their sprouting point is now covered by hair.
-Her feather crest pushes out of her like-wise colored hair, and rises and lowers depending on how she's feeling. (Threatened, excited, etc.)
-Her huge feathered wings. They're just as proportionally huge (okay, maybe not completely proportionally; they retain their hugeness, even in her 'short' (humanoid) form) in her humanoid form as they are in her true form. Thus, the wings connect on the body in the same proportion, and slits must be cut in her clothing. (They would be attached to her body from her shoulder-blades, and all the way down to around her hip-bone.) And they have a proportional wingspan so she can still fly. (So, they're pretty much huge. Because there is no word to better describe them than huge.o u o;; Luckily, she can usually cram them close enough to her body to avoid bothering people with them.)
-She has a thick (at it's very base, anyway), long, tapering tail, which has some 'cuffs' (jewelry of sorts; see reference. And yes, it's real gold that her family once plundered from a certain earth ruin...) and such around the tip. Not shown in her ampithere reference, her tail has a long feather-plume on the end, which range from being colored like her crest at the base to the colors of her wings.
-Whatever else the artist wants to include from the Amphithere reference. (I don't think there's anything left, actually. ^^; )

Anyone who wants to draw her, feel free! :'D I'd love that actually, since I can't draw her for anything.
And art is nice. It's always nice. :"D
