That question was answered with startling quickness, for as the embers of Kilawli still smoldered in the distance, the Third town Linkton was attacked. It was a bold move by the Lilith group led in a two part offensive the first attacks drew the attention to the outer wall, while the second attack came from a mercenary group of Assassins called the Clan of Black Shadows had snuck in past the walls, attacking from the inside. And though the doors were opened wide for the Lilith to once more grind this town into dust, killing all it's citizens, something happened. There was a much greater resistance presented by this third town, and for a moment it seemed as though the Town and their Shekinah allies had won. Yet this victory was short lived however, as the true objective of the attack soon became clear. One of the Black Shadows gifted in the art of poison delivered a substance deep below the city, to where Lagrima's waters pooled. He poisoned this water, essentially killing the entire area, causing the water to become deadly.
It was at this time, a mortal wound caused the Lilith Leader to become a terrible demon monster, whose destructive power was as fearsome as it was undirected. Creating a perfect distraction to cover the retreat of the evil forces which had invaded. This transformation had been brought about when one of the Lilith members, along with another young boy, an outcast from the town itself, turned on him. However the young boy, after a little interference by the leader of the Black Shadows transported him to the Ama fields in a vision, was killed by the girl he'd grown up with since childhood. She had become the Lilith's second in command. And the turncoat had managed to escape, and thus the Leader of the Black Shadows, once again intervened, helping Raigon re-seal the demon Haimuchi, and escape. The Invaders did not draw back far however, laying siege to the North, and driving any of the survivors south into the desert where, with limited supplies of un-tainted water, they sufferred greatly in the sand and heat. Many did not survive the trek to Ilquint. Yet the group was drawn together by a collaberation between the once untrusted Shekinah, and the town guard squad, when the most senior living member Ken'ichi Susumu forged an alliance of trust between them. Had it not been for this support, it is clear the entire group of Refugees would have perished.
Now, several years after this most recent attack, most of the northern continent is dead or dieing, as the rotting ruins of Linkton go uncared for, the people of Ilquint, and the survivors from Linkton are waiting for another attack. The Lilith and Black Shadows are more than willing to oblige.
