Chapter 27: Weather Forecast for Tonight: Darkness
Solaris sat at his desk flipping through file after file. Each one was yet another report from the hospital detailing injury and death. Something had been attacking rescue teams whenever it had the chance and left all of it's victims dead or in a coma, leaving the assailant a mystery. Interestingly enough, "it" never seemed to strike at weak teams. Pokemon like Blastoise, Ursaring and Dragonite were found injured regularly, but there was never a Pidgey or any such thing. Of course, just because they were never found didn't mean they weren't attacked. That presented a much different and much more alarming possibility. Solaris sighed and flopped down on his paperwork. "What am I going to do...? There's too many things to deal with." He rolled over onto his back and stared up at the ceiling as he continued his whining. "Nico is at every turn and we've got that crazy Lopunny hiding somewhere. Why can't things just take a break for a while?" Unfortunately for the Espeon, breaks never came. Even in times of peace. He heard a slight thud as something fell to the ground on the opposite side of the room. He tore his gaze away from the ceiling to see a Kadabra covered in blood.
"H... Hey!" Solaris spun off the desk in an effort to right himself, only to find that paperwork was not the best thing to try to run on. He stumbled forwards, but was quickly back on his feet and running towards the Kadabra. "Hey, are you alright!?" The Kadabra's eyes were blank and glazed over. A meek effort to speak had him coughing blood. "Mi... Mightyena... Headed for the guild... Very... powerful..." He grabbed Solaris roughly by the neck, his eyes locking with Solaris's. "He's... not natural..." The Kadabra's hand released its grip as the owner slumped to the floor. "Hey, are you alright!?" Solaris listened for a pulse, but... it was too late. "What the hell...?"

 Solaris
Solaris looked down at the pile of sheets that had once again hidden his desk from view. Each one was another story, rumour or report that suggested something big was working it's way to the Guild of the Sun. And it was leaving a path of blood in it's wake. He had sent out scouts along the predicted path, but so far none of them had seen a thing. A stifled crack sounded from the front of the room. Solaris's head turned upwards sluggishly to stare at the Abra who had appeared, kneeling on one leg, in front of him. "Your report?" The Abra nodded and stood back up. "Sir. Something is headed for the guilds." He was one of the ones that had volunteered, for some reason. "...Something?" The Abra gave a hesitant nod. "Y... Yes, it's..." He stopped speaking as an uncertainty settled in the back of his mind. "Sir, it appears to be a small black mass on the horizon. Whatever it is, it's headed for the guild astonishingly fast. It should be here within the hour." Solaris nodded. "Thank you. That will be all." The Abra disappeared with a full bow and a slight crack. Apparently he was big on rank. The Espeon's head immediately fell forward and hit the desk with a dull thud. "Oh... Why's this always have to happen to us?" Solaris hopped off his chair and slipped around the desk. The alarm was hit moments later as a call to summon the Guild into action.

 Kyanto and Shimmer Team Nightfall
The two sat in their room, waiting for the orders of the day as the glistening ice grew brighter with day returning to the sky. Shimmer, a Dratini with golden eyes, was at the window, watching. Her partner, the leader of their team, was curled up and growling. He was an odd-colored Eevee, with a moon-shaped pattern on his forehead.
"Hey, Kyan..." the Dratini whispered. "Something doesn't... feel right..."
He shrugged and shifted a bit, rolling over and went back to sleep. She sighed and looked back at the window. I know something isn't right...
She heard the alarm go off and took him along, running towards the gathering place.
"T-Team Nightfall, reporting!!!" She spoke, dropping the Eevee pup down and raises her tail to her forehead. He simply sat up and nodded, ruffling his fur a bit.

Epitaph Saileithe DariusEpitaph upon peeking her head out of her door in confusion watched Solaris pass down the hall. This was her first time even being in the guild and hearing the alarm go off. All the other times she was out. She was still for a moment, wondering what could have been the issue before running after him, staying close to the Espeon silently, assuming any questions she had would be answered naturally. Sai and Darius were bickering at each other as they wandered down the hall. The newly evolved Glaceon still had temperature control issues and freezing Darius’ paw was one of the first few mistakes. They grew quiet quickly as Darius sat across from the alarm, rubbing his still rather cold paw. Sai on the other hand glanced around the room before resting sight on her mother, her head tilted then returned to Darius.

Jean-Claude---&--- JessicaThe usual tall dark Lopunny stepped into the room, as usual, to take care of business for Team Schadenfreude. He went over to Solaris, wishing to converse with the Espeon. "What seems to be the problem this time, Solaris?" He asked gruffly. The Lopunny figured he needed to start learning more about the guild's problems. He was a highly intelligent creature, despite his looks and occasional mannerisms. A sudden black flash, and a female Lucario was crouched down by Jean-Claude's legs, clutching a blade strapped to her back. "I smell something evil..."

Luna & Kaiyou & LumonLuna came in swiftly, followed by Kaiyou. Their footsteps were silent, despite the speed at which they were running. Although they'd not been near, it hadn't stopped them from answering the guild alarm. In fact, their being away from the meeting place made them all the more likely to answer; they'd been among those who'd caught sight of the dark shape heading toward the guild. Both Ground-types were breathing heavily when they came to a stop, Kaiyou crouching to regain his composure, and Luna standing straight beside him, her unusual teal eyes scanning the area. Other teams had already assembled around them, looking tense and serious. A few of the younger teams seemed excited, but she knew their excitement wouldn't last long. "I'm here. What did I miss?" Lumon asked sharply, making his way through the crowd to his teammates. Unlike them, he'd been in the library. He hadn't a clue why the alarm had been pulled, but he'd been patient enough to leave his studies without a fuss. "Potential attack on the guild." Luna answered, her voice rasping from her breathless lungs.

SerrinSerrin entered the hall alert, his eyes working their way across the guild. The alarm had be rung and, for the first time, he was intelligent enough to respond to it. He chose to maintain his silence and, for the moment, inactivity in favor of action. The guild, once assembled, was fairly large. Trying to do anything in this atmosphere would be more likely to breed confusion than to propagate anything beneficial. As to where Tolin was, the Ivysaur didn't know. He had disappeared from the team room earlier without explanation. ((Not a mod post, just mah team.))

~Aidan & Nadia
Having been sent as the representatives for their team, a pair of Riolu twins arrived at the call of the alarm. Granted there were stronger fighters that could have been produced over them but it seemed their leaders were lazy for the day and apparently had no problem putting two children in harm's way. Little clue did the two have to what exactly was going on, but nevertheless they were there to face any danger that was presented. "Yep...This is boring as hell." "Agreed." The two communicated telepathically; strangely not the most normal conversation to be having directly before a probably live-threatening event though. This all just showing how normal it was by now for the guild to be under siege and all that jazz.
(OoC: Huzzah for having two total blank slates for charries. If anyone feels like interacting go right ahead~)

 - Echo - - Zephyr - Both Echo and Zephyr warily snuck into the room upon hearing the alarm. It had happened maybe one other time when they were in the guild, but just moving into their room and getting set up, and thought it would be alright if they missed that one. But now, they were here and ready to serve the guild, because that was their purpose, correct? Echo stood right outside where the involved teams gathered, listening in to conversations. Zephyr also stayed mostly away from the crowd, but even more away from Echo. Because that Treecko was weird. Now what is happening...? Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to stay too far away from the team member who actually listened. But she wouldn't be able to tell him anyways, so what was the point? He observed his surroundings instead. Conversation didn't matter. As long as he got to actually be apart of something that wasn't a Treecko, he was alright.

KataraKatara was the only one capable of answering the call who was currently in the Azalea team room. Atra and Lilium had gone to visit the Pluto estates for some reason or another, and Atra had made Sherman fly them back. Spade, seeing an opportunity to be free of the Team room had slipped out immediately afterwards. The very irritated and anxious Skarmory-Ditto landed in the main hall through the screech of the alarm, her steel claws raking across the hard floor as she landed. The Ditto knew by now that the alarm almost always meant trouble. CecilCecil had been making use of the Guild's training grounds when he heard the alarm. The warrior of course, answered the call-to-arms and sprinted down into the main hall to find out what is going on. Much of the guild seemed to be assembled here already. Acer && CrescendoCrescendo had been excused from the Hospital early after a hard night's shift. A rather large exploration team had gotten pretty badly mauled on a mission-gone-wrong and Cress had been in charge of watching over them as they recovered from the various medical procedures. He saw the great shadow heading towards the guild, and slithered as fast as he could the last bit into the guild hall. Acer was already there. Incultyr and Morana, their team's primary response to the alarm, were away, and thus he had left Chronicler and crown to answer it himself. The two young members of Polaris quickly stuck together, glancing around anxiously as they prepared for a fight. ZeroZero's family was busy. His son, Zoey, was extremely ill, and Zosee had finally made the decision to take him to the hospital. She was probably somewhere on her way there right now. That left his daughter, Zora to look after him. He is docile for the most part now, but the alarm triggered something in his insanity, shifted his consciousness yet again to another point in his memory. "No, Zose, talk to me." He had moaned quietly. "Don't leave me Zose, stay with me...stay with me. You're going to be fine..."Zora didn't expect it at all. His dad suddenly tore himself off his bed and lunged at her, and the frightened Umbreon quickly retreated into the shadows. Ice flew all around the room, freezing it solid as several protective fields sprung up randomly. "No...I can't...hold it by myself..." He gasped, then moments later he was out the door, skidding down the corridor, slamming against the walls as he made his way down the hall. Zora was suddenly trapped in a pool of shadow, ice all around her. She couldn't break free to chase after her father, could only wait for the ice to melt and free her.

XXXXXXX—¤÷(`Nadia ´)÷¤—A little figure appeared. A Poochyena was rushing through the halls to the source of the alarm. 'I look weird, am I wearing too much stuff? Or is it because they're a bit big for me?' She wondered, her new pendant dangling on her neck as she continued to run. Why is she wondering that when certain danger could come if somebody rings the alarm?
When she arrives at the room, she spotted two familiar faces. XXX XXXXXXX—¤÷(`Zorora & Jacob ´)÷¤—The two looked at the Poochyena. "Oh, Nadia is good to see you." Jacob addressed her presence. The three have met each other for a while now and they're getting along with her just fine. Nadia nodded. "What do you think is happening?" Zorora asked her in confusion. "Its the alarm, somebody usually rings it when something bad is happening." She explained to them. It was natural for them to not know what the alarm is when they just joined the guild recently.

 Solaris
Solaris's gaze turned outwards to the moonlight that filtered through the windows. It was hardly a wonder as to why the scout couldn't tell him what was coming for them. It would be a miracle if anyone could see well in the darkness. It would be hard to fight... whatever it was out there, but it was a lot better than letting them rampage through the city first. He shifted over slightly to stand slightly closer to Epitaph. He tried to make it as subtle as possible, although with the entire guild watching his every move it was blatantly obvious. He cleared his throat loudly to call the attention and silence of the guild. Jean-Claude's question was ignored in favor of addressing the guild as a whole. "Everyone. I'm sure you have all heard of the recent injuries throughout the guild." Of course they had. It was a common topic of discussion, after all. Even if they were quite recent. "The force that has been attacking our guild members is on it's way here, now. The scouts have reported that they'll arrive within the hour. We can't afford to wait and let them rampage through the city." Well, though he made it sound like his idea, it was Pluto who had put the scouts into place. The Espeon was still on probation even though everyone seemed happy to follow him. Solaris hopped off the stage and started heading for the door, his voice still booming throughout the hall. "We're going to meet them outside. Everyone, get ready for a fight!" He focused his mind through the gem, exerting a burst of Psychic over the door. He swore lightly under his breath when the push came out much stronger than he had intended and had blasted the doors open outwards with a resounding bang instead of opening them gently. He quickly dismissed his embarrassment with an irrelevant comment. "We... We'll fight them on the plains outside! Be careful in the darkness!"
((This is all in thread. No thread switches for us, no siree! Quick edit, important note: It's nighttime guys! Visibility is poor~ There's a nice big moon out, but there is a cloud or two~))

 Kyanto and Shimmer Team Nightfall
The two quickly made their way over as well, nodding.
"I'm so excited! This'll be my first battle!!!" Shimmer wiggled with anticipation while the Eevee grunted.
"Don't die out on me, then..." He said gently, running out and leaving the Dratini dumbstuck with a blush over her face.

SerrinSerrin listened to the speech with confusion. Recent injuries? What was he on about? Then again, of course, the Ivysaur only recently... "grew in", and he had yet to really gather any social connections. Regardless, he followed Solaris through the door and out of the city. ((Lazy post. Just mah team, don't worry.))
