~Advice from a Caterpillar~ Anyone else excited about this? Okay so it'll take a couple years to finish and I'm miiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiles away from WDW but have you heard the rumors? Plans for it found their way online and now everyone's talking about all the new things that are going to be added.
I've only been to WDW twice... and those two times were quite long ago... but this still excites me.
Here's some of the rumored (some confirmed) changes:-
Pooh's Playful Spot is being turned into a Pooh meet'n'greet area.
Beauty and the Beast is getting a whole section including an attraction of some sort and a "Be Our Guest" restaurant and another place (possibly restaurant) called Gaston's Tavern.
The Princesses will be getting more attractions.
The Little Mermaid Ride and a new Ariel meet n greet.
Dumbo is being relocated to where the tents in Toontown are and will include two spinners to increase ride capacity.
Pixie Hollow is being expanded into the area of Mickey's House, Minnie's House, and Pete's Garage.
The Toontown Train Station will be rethemed and renamed to the Fantasyland Train Station.
Annnnnnnnd...
The Barnstormer will be rethemed to a Cheshire Cat coaster and the area currently occupied by Donald's Boat will be turned into a Wonderland area!
Wonderland area!
Of course not everything is confirmed but still... interesting yes?
Now all they need to do is have Space Mountain play the same music the California Space Mountain has because it is awesomeness... and I have yet to go on either of those Space Mountains! (I've only been on the one in Paris... which is awesome too though!) Yeah I know that's not Fantasyland.

I've heard whispered rumors, but if all of this is true I'll be both sad ("Waaah, the Disney I know and love is chaaaaanging! Baaawww!") and excited ("Yaaay new things to seeeee!!!!"). When Disney does changes they're always really well done, so I'd think that whatever they come out with will be freakin' amazing. ^_^

Aww I'm going to have to go cross country to get my fill of wonderland and Beauty and the Beast? Well I've always want to go to see how it compares. I've heard it's not as good as the original but this may tip the scales razz

~Advice from a Caterpillar~ Wow I wonder what it would be like to have a local Disney park... the closest one to me is Disneyland Paris and that's still quite far away.
However I love Disneyland Paris; despite what some people say the park is actually really awesome... especially Alice's Curious Labyrinth.
I also loved WDW when I went there many years ago; but I didn't go on many of the bigger rides so now I really want to visit there again... and now with these renovations to Fantasyland it'll be even more amazing.
And about the original Disneyland... that's the park I really want to visit... but its so far away!

I know at Disney world, Pixie Hollow had already pretty much taken over the Mickey Mouse tent. I'm kind of torn to be honest, I don't want to push out Mickey!!
But I'm excited about the Beauty and the Beast area as well as the Ariel area. I felt like neither of them got enough attention and those are some of the only Disney movies to get such big awards. 3nodding

~Advice from a Caterpillar~ I've seen concept art for the TLM area; it looks amazing... I hope they manage to replicate it in the park. ^_^

I'm sure if it's in the concepts that you can find, what ends up in the park will be pretty closely matched to it. In my experience, when Disney says, "We want something to look like this", it looks like this. I live roughly 20 minutes from WDW... when the renovations are complete I'm going to have to sneak in and take some photos for the guild!!!!
But wow, I'd love to be able to go to Disneyland Paris... it sounds so exotic. *_* And Disneyland... I've never been, but I'd love to go. I've always heard such great things about the place. It's where it all begaaaaaaan!!!

~Advice from a Caterpillar~ That'll be awesome; thanks Marchy! Although I don't think the renovations will be completely... complete for a couple years.
All the parks sound great; and there's more than just those three!
You should look up the Space Mountain in DLP; its quite different from the other two. ^_^

I read on Wikipedia that Toontown in WDW is being replaced with the Chateau... I just can't remember what the something is! I don't want Toontown to go though, I have such good memories of meeting the characters there and messing around in Micky's house! crying

well, Wikipedia isn't always accurate, and the source connected to the information didn't go through, so maybe it's false... *hopeful*

Toontown is going to be completely torn down. Mickey is being moved to the Exhibition Hall in the Main Street Area to keep him closer to the entrance. All renovation are supposed to be done by 1013 but it will be opened up in pieces.
Also a new value hotel is being added to the resort area themed for animation.
Also just to mention October 2011 is Disney World's 40's anniversary.

Hmmm; yeah now that you mention it I did hear something about ToonTown being replaced.
Wonder if they'll do anything for the anniversary?

Azure Caterpillar Wonder if they'll do anything for the anniversary? They have some really nice merchandise out already for the 40th anniversary. Also the new Memories show that will be projected onto the Castle in coordination to the one that will be projected on the front of Small World in Disney Land. Anything else has yet to show up but the anniversary will not be until October so there is plenty of time to surprise us.
