This. Is. Bullsh*t.
The crew and I are going to be seriously discussing ways to get this guild up off it's feet again. Nothing is off limits in our discussion. If you want any say in what we do, then you have two options-
1) You can Recruit like a Crazy Motherf*cker. 2) You can suggest options.
You guys Recruit well enough and I might just turn this into a democratic Vote.
You give us good ideas and we might Use them.
YOU GUYS DO NEITHER and you get NOTHING.
By the way, in case you can't tell, I'M F*CKING PISSED. This is Bullsh*t. None of you do ANYTHING to help, except, like, TWO GUYS.
WHAT THE FLYING F*CK!?
I understand that a couple of you can't help it, but I mean COME ON!
*sigh* Look. I've been doing my absolute best to get this guild back on track, despite personal issues, and I feel like I've been doing it alone. We've got THIRTY EIGHT members. WHERE THE HELL ARE YOU ALL!?!?!
Goddammit.
Guys, this is your last chance. Newbies, sorry for providing nothing but a crappy guild full of barely active, unmotivated members. Personally, I thought we were getting better about this.
Everyone else, crew excluded, LISTEN UP!
This is... Your. Last. Chance.
Get it? Man, I need some fuggin ice cream or something.

I've given you multiple ideas and recommendations. I have been working with the Towns committee to try and get some fun events planned.
I don't have time to recruit right now. I'm sorry, that's how it is. I'm two weeks from graduating and I'm on the borderline, so I have more important things to do.
I'll continue doing what I can, but my position rests as such: I can do very little to help the guild further than what I've been doing without being part of the crew. Having you wait on me and having me wait on you to do the most menial tasks is absolutely frustrating, and it seriously hampers my creative ability.

And since everything can be discussed here, here's a thought.
DROP THE GML RANKS This isn't an army. We're a Guild Hub for MERCENARIES, and it's been expressed by more than one of our members that fitting into an "Armeekorps" as a Mercenary is stupid, and puts them in an hierarchical scale of power. Mercenaries should be ranked on skill and power, nothing else, excluding those men and women who are truly officers of GML.
Implement the Class System I think Jesse's class system is actually an excellent idea. It can be wide and diversified enough that it won't be redundant, and it will prevent people from munching and powerplaying. I think that's a huge issue alot of people have with our guild. Almost everyone plays characters that are simply too overpowered to contend with.
We seriously need to start taking these things into consideraiton. It doesn't matter if you can RP it literately. Slinging around God-like characters is a big buzz kill to other RPers, especially the more talented, literate ones.

The Ranks have been dealt with. If I recall correctly.
I also agree with something Jesse said on the class system. Not only would it be complicated in the fact that everyone would have to scrap their character down to nothing and start over, which many people will probably be reluctant to do to begin with, if Jesse ever gets up to making his guild or starting that roleplay there could be a potential problem of who made up what first.
As for the god-like powers, When Strifer was originally himself, all he had was spunk and some skill with a sword. Then I gave him a form of magic I saw as balanced and tough to challenge, then felt like I wouldn't be able to keep up. Eh .... Scratch all that.

☸☸Ratchet Lombax☸☸People have been joining alot more in the past few weeks. More activity, along with others asking me about the guild and me trying to get them to join. I was going to do alittle something for x-mas which I will tell when the time comes.
Other then that, Its hard for me to be really of help when I have 2-3 projects to do every DAMN week. I mean really...its too much for me. But Im trying my best to have a part and that is the best I can do.

We switched out the ranks for something much simpler, which can be found in a sticky underneath this announcement.
No. We all agreed already not to implement the class system.
Ferr, you're one of the few people who've been helping, the ones I mentioned. Thank you.
Ratchet, they've mostly been joining because I've been recruiting them.
When I say "We want good ideas," I mean original stuff, shiz we've never done before, because obviously what we've been doing doesn't want to work.

I haven't been here or doing anything (literally) because I'm on the verge of dropping Gaia completely from my life. I'm down to my last three days of school, after which I'll be getting a permanent full-time job, I'm about to turn 19 in December, and from this point on my adult life will be bursting from the seams. I used Gaia as a primary outlet for my creative writing, which I lack the creativity for as of late. The friends I've made here were a bonus I never expected, and those of you here and out there who I truly consider to be a friend will continue to be my friends even after I log off of this site for the last time. I've set a cut-off date for myself and Gaia. As of New Years, I will no longer log into Gaia, not on this account, not on any of my mules, and not on my old Darius account. If you want to know how to reach me outside of Gaia, shoot me a PM.
Now, onto the main subject.
Either move the GML to a new guild and start fresh. Or...
Wielder, this has never been said before, at least not to my recollection, and that's 4+ years of being a member, more on then off. I've had this thought more then once, but have prevented myself from saying it out loud because I can predict your answer. I even went as far as to begin something on my own, only to find that I no longer have the attention span on Gaia like I used too to follow through with it fully. But before you jump the gun, truly consider the weight of these words, and ask yourself why I have finally decided to say them now.
Maybe, it's time to start a new guild. Not a copy of something that hasn't really worked in years. A truly new guild.
I don't think there's a need for me to go in depth, but if you try to dismiss it, I will too ease your worry and doubt.

Here's one: THE TOURNAMENT! I know that Jackpalm got priority now even though the Tournament has been put on hold for over a year now. But it's the perfect excuse to recruit people and keep people active and interested. Think about it: the way I see it, we could do something like Beyon and have matches every two weeks. During that no-matches week, people could RP around the place, we could even introduce a plot, they could train and whatever and then the following week, we would have official, tournament-like matches. People would join just because it's a tournament and there's a monetary prize (Though on that note, I would suggest bumping up the rewards) and hopefully, they would stay for the long run. The tournament is ready anyway. If EVERYONE would be up for it, we could launch a recruit drive around Towns, talk to people about joining a tournament and then have that welcoming party around Towns.
And no offense, but Jackpalm is fun and all...but it's not doing anything for the guild. Okay, it's keeping us all active and here, but that's it. It's not reaching beyond the guild or attracting new people. So I'm not suggesting we kill Jackpalm, but we COULD prioritize some other things.

(Just noticed Darius' post)
That's not too crazy of an idea. I don't think moving the same, old guild to a new location can be benefitial because we would end up doing the same and right where we are right now; I've said that before. However! A brand new, fresh guild sounds pretty good...
This guild, the Gaian Mercenary League, was created by MersDefGirl, not by Wielder or Gear. She created it based on her ideas and what she probably was hoping to do in the future. But she's not in charge anymore. You're dealing with someone else dream/idea of a guild. Perhaps if we start anew with a guild that WE build and we contribute to build it up from there, then things might be easier for all of us.

☸☸Ratchet Lombax☸☸To tell the truth this guild is more active then the most popular guilds. But people most of the time join a guild then join many others and get more into the other guilds. Maybe we should a like new type of roleplays....but that would need more people to join.
1 Idea: When a event comes up in zomg. We should all try to take part and have some fun.
I will try to think of alot more to help get people to take part. But it seems as I look around...people love vampire and wolf roleplays...which is boring after seeing it like 200+ times.

I am willing to cover the entire fee for the purchase of a new Guild Space. I am also willing to assist in the redesign and completion of new Guild Banners, tags, page layouts etc.
Thoughts on scaling back some of our characters' powers need to be seriously considered. Seriously. Everyone has a weakness. It doesn't always boil down to "taking a hit." If we want more literate RPers to be invested in our guild, we have to find the dynamics between characters and how functioning together is critical for the completion of contracts. Even now in Jackpalm I can pick out three people whose characters are being ignored, no one's fault beyond the fact that at times I feel not everyone is reading everyone else's posts.

MDG's Idea was to create a bunch of guys who would run around in the Battle System (now called zOMG) and fight people for gold from other people.
Gear's Incarnation was a group of Roleplay Mercenaries who would RP for people, for gold.
My present version is a group of Roleplay Vigilantes that (if we can ever get active enough) would help out RP creators in need.
We specifically went through GRAVITE, as well as many reforms after, changing the entire face of the League.
How exactly are we still on MDG's idea?

Mmm. I wish I could help, but the reason I don't stay active in here is... Urmm... Yea, nothing happens. Some ideas? Well, have art contest, or tek tek contests... Something that catches their eyes. I mean MAKE IT EXCITING. Everybody loves exciting things, ya know. xD
Oh, and I apologize for not being all that active... My bad.
