A few feathers fell as wings were tucked protectively. Kaizoku pushed through the brush, not caring enough to go around, and into a well-lit clearing. Even more feathers had been plucked loose, some hanging in the clingy branches behind him. It didn't seem to bother him much, however. In truth, he couldn't even say he used his wings all that much. Almost everyday he woke and thought he should ask his father for lessons on flying, but just as soon he would forget, distracted by the entertaining life of a child. And so, here he was, now a full grown adult and still unable to use his wings. A few times he had begged his mother to try and teach him and she did, albeit begrudgingly, but he just couldn't seem to learn from her. It might have been the fact that she levitated and had no wings, but in the end her tutelage only proved useless. The male sighed.

Across the clearing, another male was sunning himself, nearly asleep by now. Every once in a while he would toss. Without that motion, the average onlooker might have only seen something akin to a misshapen rock. An ear flicked as he rolled onto his side again, seemingly unbothered by the heavy looking shell covering his body. It was only when a cloud rolled by, blocking the light, that he groaned, lifting his head from the earth. His expression was dull and tired and it was then that he finally ducked his head as if the stone plastered to the side of his face actually weighed something. In truth, the stone only regained its weight when Batujiwe grew too idle and lazy, as he had been in his youth. Today was one of those lazy days. One of those lazy days in one of those lazy weeks. It was more and more obvious that his curse was regaining some of its potency.

The unlikeliest of duos sauntered through the woods, the large Trick easily towered over the petite female. But, despite everything, she wasn't afraid of him. Maybe it was her brief training session with Riddick, and the shred of confidence it had restored, maybe it was just his charm. Either way, the two had formed a sort of friendship. "Alright, look pet, I don't know what your talking about, but your straight off your rocker."       Hatchett replied with a snort, shaking his head and grumbling under his breath. Raven just giggled, a soy grin creeping across her masked maw. "deny all you want Hatch. Beneath all your denials, your a softy. Possibly a romantic" she said as she skipped ahead, breaking through the forest edge into the clearing."Oi! You can't be spreading rumors like that luv! You could sod all over my reputation you could." Hatchett followed the sly female through the break, and gave a soft hiss at the sunlight. He wasn't a big fan of the sun, but he wasn't about to leave Raven alone. He knew of her...past. He knew what she went through, and what she still had to go through. She was a fighter though, deep down below the hurt and the pain of memories, she had a spark.

"where are we going anyways pet?"       he asked catching up to the now trotting Raven. The female shrugged, her jacket was slung over her shoulder, her larger scars reflected in the sunlight from between he fur. "I don't know, just out."

Hatchett sighed, but couldn't help but grin, shaking his head he gently nudged her."you always been this vague and bossy little Bint?" he asked with a grin. Raven just gave a soft smile, and stopped in her tracks, sensing others around.

User ImageRaphael came through the tree-less side of the clearing - it'd been a while since he'd been around any sort of Kitsu HQ, and he was curious how it had changed. One new such change was the number of Kitsu, he'd noticed. He'd spaced out around the building, and had just been walking absent-mindedly when he came across the clearing and the three-sides of trees... and apperently, it was a popular place for Kitsu to meet up.

He looked around a bit, wondering if any of these Kitsu would mind him looking around - he wasn't too keen on where everyone's territories were yet, so he proceeded with a bit of caution, just in case. However one particular Kitsu caught his attention more then the others at the moment, and so he padded over to the rock-covered Kitsu; giving them a curious look. "Um... Hello...." he began - was the rock... growing on this kitsu, or was it just stuck to his fur like gravel and mud? "Are you alright...?"

User ImageDevi was nervous. It was hard to hide this as she pawed the ground and seemed to look around like she'd lost something. How long had it been since she'd been somewhere without Raz-a-ma-taz at her side? She knew the kitsu was safe with her mother but having been saddled with the responsibility for so very long she wasn't sure how to behave with it finally lifted.

Tariq sighed and rolled her eyes, Just relax Devi darling, she's fine. User Image

I know, I know!

Tariq tried once again to make herself comfortable, stretching her wings in the sunlight. She looked up and noticed more kitsu seemed to be arriving. Oh look, new people, why don't you go make new friends or run a few miles, anything if it stops all that pacing. She rolled onto her side in the grass obviously unconcerned about anything at the moment.

Devi looked up to see a brownish kitsu talking to a rock. Well that didn't look promising.

An ear flicked back as he began to survey his surroundings. This little clearing was not so unfamiliar. In fact, he had been here on at least two separate occasions, once when his mother was trying to teach him to fly and once when he was fleeing from her after suggesting she had downed too much sake before noon. So maybe he couldn't say this was the best place his subconscious could have led him, but he supposed it was better than nothing.

Across the clearing, he could see a few forms, a rock and... three others, was it? Not able to hear them from this distance, he hadn't the slightest that anyone meant to have a conversation with a rock. In fact, the little group almost looked promising when he could see, with a great stretch, that one of them had wings! A grin stretched his maw and he began to toddle in that direction until something caught his attention from behind.

'... sod all over my reputation you could.'

He blinked and turned back in time to catch the sight of the mismatched pair, still conversing between themselves as they joined the life in the clearing. They hadn't seemed to notice him yet.

A grunt and his head lifted again. There was an obvious strain as he had to turn his head. With the rock plastered the way it was to his face, it could be rather difficult to see out of that eye. Today it actually looked a bit swollen, the best idea would probably be finding a nice stream to soak the side of his face in. That is, if he could lift himself easily enough to make it to one. Regardless, he now viewed this new company with his good eye--or as good as it was gonna get, still half closed with sleep.

"What?" He questioned, the word tripping from his lips slowly, sounding unsure. When he turned his head, he could see what might have been others, though they only looked like fuzzy colors now. "What are you-" he stopped. Oh. So used to the curse by now, he had almost forgotten. "Y-Yeah, I'm fine." He assured, though his voice wavered slightly as the weight bared down greater on his neck and shoulders and he found he couldn't lift his forepaws. "Nothing unusual."

Raphael tilted his head a bit, ears pricked up a bit from curiosity. "Are you sure?" he asked, "You look like you got a lot of pebbles stuck to your fur..." he commented - to him such a sigt was very unusual. "Must be hard to move around with all that rock stuck to you."

Raven gave a coy smile and a shrug"not always no, but it is something I could just get used to"   she replied with a grin, as she looked over her shoulder and nearly collided with the strange male ahead of them. Hatchett's reply was cut off by a warning 'oi!' to which Raven skidded to a halt and blinked at the male with wide eyes. Instantly she was compelled to run. To flee. To be away from here. But after a silent battle played out behind her eyes, she eased up a bit. She was still wary, still has her muscles tensed, but her wits were sharp. She wasn't ruled by fear. Hatchett stood behind her, not between her and the obstacle, but near enough if she lost it, he could help. He didn't believe in fighting her battles, that would never help her in the end.

"Oi there Little Bint, dont ye think ye should be sayin something? Or ya planning to stare him down until one of you dies of old age yeah?"      he asked the female with a grin.

Suddenly shamed she blinked and shook her head"I...yes...I'm sorry, where are my manners. Hello! My name is Raven. The lumbering oaf behind me is Hatchett."   Raven gave a light smile. Every muscle was tensed to flee, or defend, but that didn't mean she had to be rude.
"Lumbering Oaf?! Oi! You cocky little Bint. Just wait Pet, your time will come."     he grumbled and growled, but his grin betrayed his threats. He inclined his head at the male. His way of saying hello.
