▒░█ "We'll watch the stars come out tonight..." ▐░ ▒ There was no way he was going to survive tonight. He was beyond exhausted, the man swore he could just curl up on the counter top and fall right asleep. But here he managed to stand--rather lean against the bar counter. The night owl shift was just starting and the bar was a bit quiet and settled. He'd been to so many bars in his life, but this one was always the most relaxed. A long plastic spoon bobbed up and down between his lips boredly with his arms cross over his chest and light honey brown eyes scanning the imidiate area.
The dress code wasn't the most comfortable but tolerable. He had to wear a white dress shirt and black slacks. But for his own flare he had on suspenders and black armbands at the upper part of his arms like the old classic bartenders wore. His black apron was wore around his waist and the top of his shirt was partly opened. Then that ever so lazy look on his face. Even his smiles were lazy like he'd been sleeping all of his childhood and had a permanent daze.
Jericho gave a deep yawn and covered his mouth before pushing his hips off of the edge of the bar counter "Whisky please." a man's voice called out from down the bar. Why the hell did customers do that? Plenty of room near the bartender and yet they sit damn near at the very end of the counter. The alakazam sighed and nodded and pulled the spoon from his mouth and slipping it in his pocket. "Comin'." he waved slightly and in one fluent movement his slender fingers curled around the proper short glass and then he carried himself sluggishly to the customer.
After getting the man's specific request of whiskey he poured the shot and left the bottle there upon request, collecting the money and going back to his spot. Then the spoon slipped back in his mouth like a forced habit.
Another long, boring night it looked like.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ღ ┇ gemini ๑ wood ┇ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━ xxxxThe bar was filled with people slithering about the room, drinking their sorrows, and downing reality in one slender shot, or a long-necked therapist with grains of salt attached to its lips. Gemini's eyes flashed around the dim room, low lamps and thick shades hid the identities of the clientele from afar, but up close and personal were the typical suspects. A greasy suit with sausage fingers, a cigar barely kissing his fish lips, a pair of specs with a cell phone appendage, and a pair of man eaters scouring the crowd, nursing a lonely drink with a arched finger. The suit groaned for medicine, whiskey, the words as natural to him as his name. She pouted, I hate having to serve these bums. Her cat eyes shifted, searching for a replacement, sad boozers weren't fun to serve. Soggy tips from all the tears and no conversation to be had, just pity and self-loathing. An Alakazam served up a spoonful of comfort to the man. Gemini grinned, her little fangs poking out. A spoon dangled on the man's lips like a cigarette.
Gemini stepped out of the shadows, her hair bound back in a high, braided ponytail with familiar bat ears poking from the side of her cascading violet hair. The unusual attire itched her, the high-waisted skirt that grazed the top of her thigh, tightly wrapped around her bum with opaque black thigh high tights that lead into classy onyx pumps, needle thin, 3 inch heels that clicked when she approached the fellow bartender. Her top was a deep violet with full bell sleeves, thick ruffles in different shades of purple at the end, grazing her white hands. Gemini could feel the crisp, tall collar scrape her neck and could feel the weight of the jabot pressing against her bust.
"Looks like we're going to be here for a while, huh?" The Gligar stretched her arms above her head, inhaling as much of the smokey and alcohol-imbued oxygne as she could. Her eyes went up and down him. New guy. "You gotta name, love? I'm Gemini." Her eyes glinted in the hazy light. "Try smilin' a li'l, love. You're at one of the happiest places in the world, y'know." She playfully jabbed his bicep, her talon ring pressing against his shirt, leaving a small wrinkle. Drunken slobs, business duds, all the good guys, y'know," Gemini chortled with a fanged grin.

▒░█ "We'll watch the stars go out tonight..." ▐░ ▒ The Alakazam stared off mindlessly into nothing in particular, spoon hanging for dear life from his lips and his arms crossed loosely. It even took him a moment to fully register that someone was even talking to him. But when he did, oh, he noticed.
She was a piece of work really. That outfit and such a bold demeanor just blaring off of her. "Gemini? That's an interesting name..." his voice trailed off when she mentioned the very hell hole they stood in "It is quite the wonderland." the young bartender wasn't the most lively but he was just as sarcastic as they came. For the young lady he didn't mind giving a smile, a lazy one, but one all the same. "My name Jericho, by the way." there wasn't much else to it seeing as he wasn't the one for formalities in the least bit. Especially not with fellow employees. "Guess I haven't worked at a bar like this since I first started bartending. Lately I've been around, well, livelier faces." he almost sounded disappointed with the realization. A job was a job though no matter how slum.
"Are you a full time here?" he chuckled "You have my up-most sympathy if you are. I don't know how anyone could do it." his bright honey brown eyes scanned the immediate area seeing all the ruined gazes and hopelessness most of the men had. It was like a terrible movie scene gone wrong. In all honesty he was debating whether or not to even stay the entire shift this round. Yeah, his contractors would be thoroughly pissed at him if he were to skip out but it wasn't like they'd fire him. He was way too valuable of a employee for them to lose. Perhaps it wasn't a good thing for him to know such affairs but he often took advantage of it anyway.
At least there was another worker here with a good sense of humor. Jericho hoped that she'd keep his interest as well, at least until the end of his shift which was hours away and seemed like eternity. He should seriously consider settling with one solid job.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ღ ┇ gemini ๑ wood ┇ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━ xxxxGemini smiled, reflecting Jericho's expression. Her eyes floated over the sea of heads. It certainly was a dull night. With a short laugh, Gemini said, "Oh, I'm not full time. I work down at the roller blade park a few streets down most of the time." She hopped on her heels like a tight rope walker, smiling brilliantly."I love workin' there. Everyone's so alive and free, but here we're all chill, or usually. Some nights we get our super duds." She jabbed a finger in the direction of the spec, his glasses reflecting the cell phone light. The symbols covered his eyes. The suit snorted and lit up another cigar. "But, y'know, I gotta love this place. It was way better talkin' to these losers than hangin' at home alone." Gemini looked back at Jericho. "So, what brings you here, Jericho?"

▒░█ "We'll watch the stars go out tonight..." ▐░ ▒ Nodded while looking back over the painfully dull crowd "Oh I see. I'm here because my over boos needed me to fill a spot at this bar. I might be at another bar tomorrow who knows." he honestly couldn't see how being here would be better than being anywhere else. Hell even sitting at home doing nothing sounded a world better. Then again, it didn't take much for the Alakazam to just settle on falling asleep and leaving it at that. The thought alone made him smile.
"A roller what?" he turned back to his co-worker with a strange confusion on his face. "They have a park for those?" he didn't sound digusted but more or less surprised. He wasn't the most active man though his body would suggest otherwise. There were stranger things he supposed. He chuckled some and shifted his feet and leaned his back against the liquor shelf more. It's support was amazing really, the counter portion, and he was tempted to hop up and sit on it but his better judgment told him no.
"What do you do at a roller park? Lend out blade or...what?" he truly had no idea what you could possibly do there as an employee or what one even looked liked.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━ ღ ┇ gemini ๑ wood ┇ ━━━━━━━━━━━━━ xxxxHis confusion made her shake her head, a grin pushing up her cheeks. "Man, you gotta get outta these place s'more." She swiped a martini shaker and tossed ice cubes in it. "Ya wanna drink? It's a girly one, but I love 'em." She laughed, "and y'know, I'm a girl." Gemini stole into the shelves and took out bottles of different sizes, some half empty. "Anyway, roller parks are like the ones for skateboarding. I mean, we let people do that too. Even bikes, but I'm in charge of teachin' roller bladin'. It's a ball." She measured the vodka and apple pucker, then sealed the top and shook it. Her excessive shaking made her bounce cheerily. Out of nowhere, Gemini spun around and tossed the drink in the air and caught it from behind. A few spectators clapped, then went back to their drinks. "Have you ever been bladin' 'fore? It's a blast."
