|| H i s t o r y || { "here, there, in outer space even..." }☼ e a r l y y e a r s ☼ Gemini grew up in the city, surrounded by lovers of hip hop, rap, and rock. Turn on the radio on one street, and the all the kids would be dancing while the elderly complained about the noise, but they didn't mind. Not enough to even shout out the window for them to turn down the music at least. Even as a kid, Gemini liked to have fun. She'd play on her toy xylophone and drum, then she moved on to learning piano and keyboard.
At the age of four, Gemini began to notice that her father would often ignore her. He would never take pride in her work, even when she spent long hours learning to play the keyboard. Most of the time, he blamed her for everything. Still, it never broke her spirit. Her mother gave her all the affection she could when her father's back was turned, or if he was away on business.✿ y o u t h ✿ In the neighborhood, Gemini became notorious for rollerblading and getting into fights with high schoolers. Most of the time, she got away, skidding off on her wheeled toes. She jammed on her keyboard otherwise, making music with her friends. She even won an award at her school and showed her father, hoping he would praise her, but he only nodded. Still, Gemini thought she could still make her dad appreciate her.
At the age of nine, Gemini was sent to a boarding school for musicians. She sent letters to her mother there.✫ t e e n ✫ Gemini played her first solo performance when she was fourteen. She was at a small cafe near her boarding school where she could play her heart out. People gave her tips, and sometimes the store would advertise her as entertainment. It was a thrill to have so much attention on her. The cheers, the vibrations, this was her truest element. She also got her first sip of beer and found it rather disgusting. Alcohol sounded awful.
Until she got a taste of wine. Gemini started drinking when she was fifteen. It wasn't just cafe drinks anymore, she wanted the taste of liquor on her tongue and that whizzy feeling when she drank. It was a time for carefree fun. Gemini also got a job as a server at a roller blade rink when she was seventeen.♫ n o w ♫Gemini works as a roller blade instructor now, playing her keyboard and singing occasionally at the cafe. She currently attends a local college, studying as a music major. Almost never does she refer to her family since she no longer lives with them and lives in a cramped apartment. Sometimes she can get carried away when she's excited, but she'll cool off if someone reminds her to come back down to Earth. There's no one she'll really try to avoid, well, unless you're a psychopath or something. Otherwise, Gemini says no one's off limits. If people don't like Gemini, or are rude to her, however, she'll do a barrel roll with the blow and shrug it off.

keyboard :: Gemini loves playing her favorite mixes and making music. Sometimes she writes her own song lyrics and sings along when she plays. She doesn't appreciate someone screwing with it, obviously.
in-line skates :: Gemini adores her favorite means of travel: her blades. It's also her only means of exercising. She saved up for these, and it was her first big purchase when she was young. Gemini works at Rock & RollerBlade, a local rollerblade cafe and area. People can rent skates, get lessons, or grab a bit here. Gemini used to work the roller waitress job, but now freely teaches classes, taking her breaks at the cafe and even serving occasionally when staffing is low. It's popular with couples, students, and parties, but some soloists come to show off or look for people to hang out with. Gemini's always full of smiles for you.
Cafe Nightlife______________
On weekends and Wednesday nights, Gemini plays her keyboard and sings to cafe goers. Some people read poetry and other days there are bands who play, too, but Gemini always opens for them. There are some days when she is the main entertainment, even. Other than performing, Gemini drinks a little on the sly.
