Here's a place to talk about anime, manga or anything along those lines.
To start us off, Miyazaki films are amazing. Spirited Away, in my opinion is up there with Princess Mononoke (I think Princess Mononoke was his best work personally).
However, my favorite was Howl's Moving Castle. I loved the magical concepts such as the curse on Sophie and how she ended up breaking it (even though they never actually explained that, I always thought it was along the lines of "The more Sophie saw value in herself, the younger she appeared.")
Also, Azumanga Dioh is great too. It's filled with randomness and amazing moments that I wished happened in my social life... "If I didn't have this key, we wouldn't be able to get in. ^^" (Tomo grabs the key and throws it into the woods) XD
Poor Sakaki with her cat problems... But Maya is epic. ^^

Haha
Yeah, Kiki's delivery service, while not as action packed as the others, was still a good movie. Personally, I'm a fan of most of Miyazaki's work, aside from those I haven't seen yet. I still want to see My Neighbor Totoro.

I have Spirited Away. However, I still prefer Princess Mononoke. That movie will always hold a special place in my heart. ^_^

I really liked what he did with Princess Mononoke.
(Epic spoilers ahead. Don't say I didn't warn you.)
There were the wolves and nature that had existed in more or less harmony, then humans were created by nature and started industrializing. Then industrialization took homes away from nature while the humans struggled to survive, doing hard labor. In retaliation, the forest attacked the industrialized area, and in retaliation to the forest's retaliation, the humans started doing even more damage to the forest.
Neither side was at fault, yet had the situation been handled better the war between everyone wouldn't have started in the first place. And that's just the tip of the iceberg of how complicated the story is.
There's Princess Mononoke who is a human raised by forest wolves who refuses to believe she's the same race as the ones destroying her home, there's Ashitaka who sees both sides of everything and wants to have the war end and find a balance so that both sides can live together peacefully (which should have happened in the first place)
And then there's the apes who just plain creep me out... They're also from the forest and fight with the wolves on how to deal with the humans. They actually want to eat humans in order to transform themselves into something far worse so humans will be destroyed.
And then the boars that fight even if they know they will lose out of pride and put their pride above all else, ignoring the possibility of a better way to deal with things.
And even then, that's not all there is to that movie. It's extremely complex with a ton of different stories going on at the same time, and that's what makes the central theme all the more simple: Nobody was at fault originally. Every single group was merely trying to survive, but just because there is no wrong in the big picture does not mean that a group cannot be wrong about the ways they intend to reach their goals. Also, it shows that if one is to take action in the world, they must forget how to think in black and white and consider the entire situation for everyone involved (which is pretty hard to do considering the humans didn't know squat about the forest and vice versa).
I'm done ranting about the movie now. XD

Bloop! I love Miyazaki. While I loathe manga/anime (Don't kill me guys) Miyazaki's films are the only exception. They're just. So dang captivating and original and fasldkjfaskdlf. I love them. All of his films are wonderful works of art (and music! I love the music, I just bought the soundtrack to Spirited Away) that give me this happy feeling watching them, as creepy as some of them can get lmao. Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited Away are gawjuss. I really like The Cat Returns as well, but I think that was a collab. EITHER WAY ITS AWESOME. Yeeeeee(:

Yeah, the music for his movies are really good too. My favorite pieces come from Howl's Moving Castle; the main theme song and the ending credits to be exact. ^^
Oh gosh, I love Sekai no Yakusoku.

All right everyone... I love Fullmetal alchemist the best as far as anime and manga go, Spirited Away is my favorite Miyazaki film, Kiki's Delivery Service was the first of his movies that I saw though. I love Princess Mononoke, but it scared me as a little kid, (but everything scared me as a little kid), I'm happy that I can fully appreciate it now. Go edward elric!

XD, Yugioh Abridged just made a reference to Full Metal Alchemist in it's 50th episode. Although I never read/watched the story in detail, I got the basics and was able to understand the joke.
And that reminds me, I just re-watched Yugioh season zero. And before you associate it with the terrible 4kids edition, season zero has something that 4kids lacks: quality. I'm not kidding, the characters are a lot better developed, Yami is actually awesome and; violence. It actually gets pretty dark (not too dark though). And it DOESN'T revolve around a pointless children's card game, but rather games themselves. And they get pretty creative too...
