When the world stopped wavering and wobbling around her, like the way things were seen through a thick shower glass window, Ixchellia was surprised to see that she’d materialised just a hop, a skip and a jump away from the multihued booth she’d been trying to get to after she left the candy one. The marketplace reformed itself around her, items, objects and different sections phasing into existence. Although now she noticed that only the booth and immediate area where she now stood were sharp, vibrant and clear; the rest of the world had a faintly dreamy and blurred quality to it, like when you took a picture with a camera and it was almost in focus, yet just that tiny bit off. Still, this was the booth she’d been trying to get to alright. It looked wonderful! Surely you couldn’t get bored in a place like this. With an eager grin, she did a hop, a skip and a jump, landing right before the booth, uttering a little laugh at nearly losing her balance upon landing.
Admiring the pretty rainbow streamers twisting and fluttering gaily around the stall’s edges, Ixchellia stepped closer to have a better look at them. She reached out to play with the end of one, smiling as it tickled her fingers….All of a sudden there were startling noises, like miniature cannons going off: POP! POP!
Coloured streamers flew at her out of nowhere - Booby trapped! Ixchellia jumped at the small frights, squealing and giggling with surprise. She danced on the spot a little, trying to dodge the streamers and only managing to get all wound up in them, which made her laugh even more. Deciding she liked these paper pretties, she left them where they landed, tying one around her waist like a belt.
Wondering was this stall was for, she looked up to see the words painted on the front of it. “H…h…elp wan…wanted” she read aloud. They wanted help. Ohh, maybe she could help. She loved helping! Looking around for the stall’s owner, it took her a while to spot her as she almost blended in with her environment but when she saw Enyo, Ixi was quite impressed. She looked as much fun as her booth! “Hello, you need help? I help you! How I can help, you just say a word!” the girl asked animatedly, placing her hands on the top of the table and pulling herself up on tip toe to be able to see the other girl better. Ah, there was paper on the table with more writing on it! The owner even used all the coloured pens to write her letters, just like Ixi. This girl had good taste.
Taking a few minutes to decipher the note, when Ixchellia finally understood what was wanted, she was all for it. Bouncing on her tip toes; she looked at where other people had written their names, picked up a coloured pen and signed the sheet as best she could while reaching over a counter that was much too high for her: Ixchellia Song. There, she had signed. Now she looked up expectantly at the owner as the other girl rummaged around and then handed over a plain white… “Mutney!” Ixi loved monkeys. But when she saw this simple little monkey, she bit back a sob and hugged the little critter close to her with teary eyes, earning a startled screech from the monkey. “Poor, poor, mutney! Don’t worry, I help make you pretty and fun again!” Ixi shouted. Yes, she would cure this monkey of horrible boringness and make the world more awesome, yes indeed. Looking around for the tools required for this monumental task, Ixchellia joined in the monkey’s screeching when she saw what they were, although for a different reason: paints, she got to use paints! She would let her imagination go wild.
