CANDY MOUNTAIN

A little boy sat on a low chair, his chubby little legs dangling over the edge and his arms folded neatly on the table in front of him. A table that was too high for his pose to look even remotely comfortable. But sit there he did, grinning away. Taped to his table was a banner that read 'HALP - NED KANDIES' in what could only be described as adorable handpainted lettering. Literally. In fact, look a little closer and you can see some paint on his tanned fingers! In front of him was a sign up sheet.

It said, in much neater writing:

"Due to a totally awesome Pirate Captain named Tobias I was introduced to the amazingly cool world of sugar. Sign up below to make us me something great to eat!

Winner gets to not get thrown to the kraken win a sekrit prize
"

Test #1:
Bring Tobias and Sanqui something absolutely delicious. It can be anything! A double decker chocolate bus with pizza wheels? Awesome. But bring the Captain Sanqui something delicious for him to try. (Can find images on the internet, draw them yourself, or explain it via text)

Oh, Amande liked this booth. He liked it a lot. The boy was a gourmet, but that didn't stop him from enjoying simple candy like peanut butter cups or chocolate bars.

The teenager signed his name in (what he thought to be) elegant cursive before resting the pen on his (non-existant) lips.

"There is nothing at Joe's Barbecue that will delight your taste buds, but I do believe I have something..."

First Amande pulled out (of his mouth) something that looked like a cake decorated to look like human organs, but he quickly put it away.

"Whoops, that was supposed to be a little gift for my sister..."

He quickly pushed it back into his mouth before turning around and picking up something that had appeared on a little glass table.

At least he didn't pull it out of his mouth this time?

It was a lovely peanut butter cake with fudge drizzle completely covering the top and dripping down the sides. On some cakes it would've looked sloppy, but for this cake it merely made it look more delicious. On top was a crowning sugar-rose, edible too of course.

Perhaps it was a bit much for a child... but Amande knew that you were never too young to appreciate good food.

Ryan paused at the sight of a small boy sitting at the table. Coming closer, he saw the banner and then a sign up sheet. "Candy?" He liked sweet things too. Like the pie that Delucca brought over sometimes! Though, he didn't often get much pie as Nadia and Quill always ate most of it. But he was always given at least one slice to himself!

The boy thought for a while. Pie was good, but he liked cake even better. And Nadia and Quill didn't eat cake as fast as they always ate pie, so he could usually get more cake! But... where was he going to find a cake?

Turning, he noticed a cake shop not too far away and they had LOTS of cakes! Grinning, Ryan headed to the shop, searching about. There were all sorts of cakes and they were all very yummy looking. However, there was a cake on display that made the sex toy curio just stare. THAT ONE! HE HAD TO HAVE THAT ONE!

But... how? This was a store... but then a nice lady behind the counter seemed to see that he really liked this cake and boxed him up one and told him it was for free. Because he was such a cute boy and cute boys needed cake! Ryan was a bit hesitant, but who could refuse free cake?

Grinning (and hoping that the little boy at the stall would share!), Ryan carefully carried the box back to Sanqui. "Here you go~"

Vance saw many wonderful booth, and wanted to visit them all. But one caught his eye, one with a small toddler all by himself. The banner sold him. Sugar? Totally up his alley!

Make him food? Did he have to make it? Or could he buy it? Meh. Whatever. Vance signed up, then ran downtown to get his supplies.

A trip to the grocery store, with some hard earned allowance money, ended with him bringing home a bag of sugar, molasses, icing sugar, cake icing, flour and cookie dough.
Vance got to work, a footstool by the counter, he mixed up all his ingredients. Once it was all a big glob of goo, he portioned them in balls, and tossed it in the oven on 500 degrees Fahrenheit for about 5 minutes (he thought it had been an hour).

The boy ran back with the monstrosity he called candy, held in a grocery bag, and presented it proudly to the toddler at the table.

Tarot winced as another streak off vanilla goo threatened to spill down her hand. What had Sev been thinking, buying her this?! The toddler was known throughout the community of young and old to have a baffling aversion to sweets. The only things she seemed to enjoy were fruits, and the citrus family was her favorite. But this! No, just no!

Tarot could almost swear this was a dream. What else would induce her Sev to buy her bacon ice cream!?! For once he had vanished somewhere, meaning she had no one to shove the offending treat off on. She was hoping she'd run into some bullies or someone would would steal the treat away from her, and wandering into a section of booths to further the means to her end ambition.

There! A small boy about her age! Small kids (herself excepting) liked this kind of stuff, right? And she could have sworn there was a sign demanding sweet stuff, though the toddler was still getting the hang of reading. Whatever. This boy would take this horrible treat away from her now!

But, of course...... He couldn't read the blazing message of "Please help!" in her eyes, because she was never so silly as to look like she needed help. Ever. So it was up to her then. Darn. But she had to get rid of this- OH GOD IT WAS DRIPPING ON HER HAND! GETITOFFGETITOFFGETITOFFGETITOFF!!!!!!

Throwing aside all caution (and dignity) Tarot ran up to the boy, shoved the cone in his hand, and ran about to find someone to wash away the nasty, vanilla-flavored goo!

A small, cocoa skinned girl with red-brown hair approached the booth labelled ‘Kandies’. She looked to be two or three years old. She was wearing a Chinese style outfit made of silk that was the colour of a jade green mountain spring and her reddish hair twisted prettily at the ends, a set of lacquered chopsticks with beads swinging off the ends stabbed into the half-up hairdo she wore. This may or may not have had something to do with the fact that she’d fallen asleep whilst reading a kid’s book about a place called China and listening to bamboo flute music.

Ixchellia ogled the open air street markets, gaze sweeping over all the different stalls and booths. She noted that each one was selling or advertising different things. The sky was a curious shade of green but she didn’t let that bother her and hummed a cheerful song as she walked along that was largely about cushions.

Peering inquisitively at each booth she passed, she studied their contents briefly yet didn’t stop at any, her attention firmly fixed on the one she was heading towards. For some reason, she felt compelled to go there, despite wishing to look at other things.

When she got closer, she was able to make out the figure propped up uncomfortably behind the counter as someone she recognised. With a delighted squeal, she broke into a run and scrambled the rest of the way over, waving and calling their name, black and green sandals clattering on the dusty road. “Quiiiiii! Sanqui!” she yelled joyfully, throwing her hands out in front of her to halt her forward momentum as she nearly slammed into the booth. It had popped up in front of her in a split instant, taking her by surprise. She hadn’t realised she’d been running that fast.

The wooden booth wobbled and shook a bit under the impact though otherwise remained intact. “Your writing says…can-dy” she observed curiously after carefully studying the letters her brother had painted on the banners for a solid few moments. Ixchellia could read, it just took her a while to decipher the words.

Oddly enough, it looked like he was not selling any treats but asking for donations of any and all things sugary. This was her bestest (and only) brother! Ixchellia decided she would help him any way she could.

Searching around her person for something to donate, she patted her dress and her pockets, looked in her purse and even in the soles of her sandals but came up empty handed with a little frown. “Aww…” She didn’t have anything. Why wasn’t there more candy at their house? That was no good. She was his sister and knew lots of his favourite things; she should be able to give a super awesome donation. For instance, she knew he liked apple pie and cookies and…and… “Wassermelon!” A soft cry left her lips as a platter piled high with objects shimmered into existence before her, dispersing a concentrated sweet scent through the air, along with juicy pink sparkles. Blinking at the crystalline glass tray for a second, she reached out and took the contents without hesitation, sweeping them into her arms in a cluttered pile.

There were watermelon gummies shaped like little animals, watermelon bubble gum, hard candies shaped like skulls and bones, watermelon sour straps, fizzy stars, what looked like a semi-transparent bubble shaped like a watermelon slice and filled with bright liquid…all of them in varying hues of pink, red or green. “Here ya go! Lotsa candies! I help out!” she beamed, spilling her melony treasure trove all over the table top, scattering it everywhere. Now Sanqui had enough candies for a year!

Wow, she felt so good~. Who knew doing nice stuff for other people could be so rewarding?

Still there was a tiny piece of her that wondered whether he’d share any of his sugar pile. She didn’t like watermelon overly much…but maybe he had other flavours from other donations. Maybe even chocolate! “Tell me if ya get any chocolate cake, a-kay? Nice boots!” she complimented with a smile. (She meant booth)

Good deed done for the day, Ixi waved her brother ‘goodbye an’ good luck’ before going off on her own to investigate some of the other booths, having seen one with pretty bright colours on the way here…she was almost to it when the world started turning wavy and fuzzy…

Whistling evilly as she skipped towards her Nephews stall Enyo had to supress a cackle. She loved providing her protégée with all manners of things that made Victoria glare at Enyo. And it just so happened that top of that list was sugar, just under prank supplies. Oh it was fun being her! So when she’d spotted little San’s stall asking for sweets she just had to oblige and seeing as it was a dream she thought why not go crazy!

Stifling another cackle she plopped her offerings down, giving San’s hair a ruffle straight after. “Enjoy squirt! Rainbow and apple pie with a crust baked out of essence of pranks and a bottle of Win sauce! Make sure to bug your mom for me when you wake up!” giving him a quick hug she happily made her way back to her stall. Ahhh, providing toddlers with children. What wonderful chaos it caused.
