AMITYVILLE ACADEMY ENROLLMENT FORM

Name: Jericho Bloodbane
Nicknames: Don't even think about calling him Jerry
Gender: Male
Age: Dragon Equivalent of 17 years of age

Faction/Race Monster/Red Dragon (Dungeons and Dragons)

Personality:
Generally speaking it doesn't take a whole lot to set him off, but he does try to keep his cool more in regards to his friends. Try is the key word there, as there likely will still be times where he'd end up shouting or snapping at one of them if they grate his nerves enough. Though, while he may get angry with them, there likely will never be a time where he would outright abandon them in any situation. He wouldn't let his rage blind him so much that he'd lose sight of what's important to him. When he is angry though, you might want to watch out for anything that happens to be flammable nearby.

To go along those lines, there is just about anything he'd be willing to do to help those he cares about. If he has a friend in need, he'll be there doing what he could to make things better. He might not be much of a touchy-feely guy at all, but he'll find ways to show he cares. This dragon is also very forgiving of his friends, much more than of those he doesn't really know. In a sense he has trouble of letting someone or something go once he has it, which could potentially be an issue for him if a friend starts to treat him rather poorly. It would take a lot for him to 'defriend' someone. On the flip side, once someone is branded as an enemy, it would take a great deal for him to see that person in any other way.

Between his stubbornness and sense of pride, Jericho has a fairly strong competitive spirit. He enjoys a variety of games, and enjoys them considerably more if he happens to be good at those games. He wouldn't resort to cheating in should he start losing at whatever he's playing, but he'd still be giving it his all even if it's something he doesn't like all that much. This dragon is not one to just give up. Though, this means that should he lose he'd feel rather disappointed in himself, but it just gives him more reason to try harder next time around. This also goes for any sort of challenges he sees towards himself. This mindset is not quite there for chance-based games as he realizes there isn't much he could do to improve when it's all based on luck. That isn't to say he doesn't enjoy his share of these sorts of games as well.

Don't touch his belongings without his permission. It's a fairly easy way to set him off. He enjoys possessing a large variety of things; most which are either shiny or are valuable in one way or another. Amongst his treasures are a hefty amount of all sorts of dice ranging from d3's to d100's, but the bulk of them seem to be d20's. Dice may very well be his favorite things to collect aside from gems and gold. Dice that happen to be made of these materials are even better in his opinion.

This makes it fairly easy to bribe him if someone wanted him to do something for them. The bribe will have to match the deed however and Jericho isn't quite as likely to take a favor instead.

Jericho can also be quite focused in regards to tackling tasks, especially if he feels he is going to get something out of it. This kind of goes along with his gaming mentality of giving it his all to get it done as well. There will be times of course where he will be reluctant to do something or have to deal with at task he doesn't particularly enjoy in one way or another, but he still won't slack off because of those feelings.

In a fight, Jericho tends to be rather physical, though he enjoys using a fair share of fire as well. Most of the time he will be likely to attack head on (sometimes in a literal sense), but he does keep in mind other tactics should a direct approach not really work out.

Likes: Meats of all sorts (the bloodier the better), dice, warm/hot weather, being respected, shiny things
Dislikes: Veggies, being seen as inferior, cold, people touching his stuff

Hobbies: As mentioned before, he enjoys collecting things and reading up on humans. Along with this, he does have a knack for gambling at times as it could grant him new shinies. He isn't beyond cheating for when it comes to this. Aside from games of chance, Jericho enjoys various table-top games such as Dungeons and Humans. Over all, he doesn't mind competition in general.

Why are they enrolled in Amityville Academy? There are two main reasons for this. One is that he feels he needs to prove that dragons (or monsters in general he supposes) could do just as well as demons if not better when it comes to creating fear. The other is that he wishes to rise to the greatness that his father is, who supposedly had caused a large number of 'total party kills'. Jericho isn't entirely certain what that means exactly as he never really asked (a part of him doesn't want to ask in case it isn't what he expects), but it sounds impressive to him.

FEAR: Jericho summons a flaming 20-sided die to come crashing down onto a target (or multiple targets once he's powered up) like a meteor. Starting out, the d20 is roughly the size of a baseball and as he grows stronger the d20 grows as well. It'll likely eventually be about the size of an exercise ball or possibly even larger. There will initially also only be one die, whereas there would be more later on.

In the case the roll for this attack is maxed out, in rp terms it would essentially be the time that the die gets a natural 20. It may also potentially set someone on fire at this time, but these bits don't affect the official damage done.

Natural Ability: Fire breath - Just as it sounds, he can spew out a plume of flame. Occasionally he'll do so on accident with a sneeze or cough, so take caution around him should he be sick.

Physical Description: Jericho's true from is a little smaller than a medium sized red dragon. While he prefers his greatly over his human form, his size does get in the way at times. Not to mention the school rules about maintaining human forms on campus. As a humanoid, he looks fairly human but retains a number of his draconic features. He appears fairly athletic, but he isn't bulky or anything like that.
Eye Colour: Gold and slitted
Hair Colour/Style: Reddish brown and it's shaggy
Skin Colour: Tannish
Clothing Style/Colours: Artist's choice. His favorite colors are red, gold, and black. He'd probably wear something on the casual side, possibly something tattered.
Extra: There are horns like that from his true from on his head, as well as a pair of dragon wings at his back. His teeth appear sharper than that of a human's as well. There are several scars around his body.

An Interview with a Dragon

So Jericho, welcome! Do you have some time to answer a few questions?
"Questions? What for?", the Dragon asked while turning around, peering at the one addressing him. There was a sense of puzzlement in his eyes.

Well, I was thinking that it'd just be a way for people to possibly get to know you better. In your own words. If you go through with this, I'll give you this sack of gems.. They're not cheap either. Here take a look.
Jericho swipes the bag without hesitation before glancing inside to examine the contents quickly. A low approving rumble emits from deep within his throat as he seems satisfied with this offer.
"Very well I suppose. Go on."

Haha. I'd thought you'd cooperate. Anyway, Jericho, tell us a little bit of your family.
"Both my father, Kalak, and my mother, Arianna, are red dragons as well of course. Powerful and cruel beings they are and easily twice my size. I've heard many stories from them on how they've caused chaos and destruction. My mother is a tad more passive however, as she'd rather take in offerings rather than go pillaging herself she says. My father, on the other hand, has caused many 'total party kills' on unfortunate adventurers as well," he states proudly.

Wait... Total Party Kills? Like in Dungeons and D...humans? Is he a DM?
Narrowing his golden reptilian eyes, Jericho quickly snaps, "No you fool. He wouldn't go about telling these if it were from some game!"

So what do you mean then?
"Why don't you ask him yourself?" he hisses in a mocking fashion, "Can we please move on? I hadn't eaten dinner yet."

Ah. Yes. Anyway, since this place is all about scary things and the like... what is your fear? I don't mean what your FEAR is... more like what are you afraid of?
"I am a red dragon, the biggest and the baddest of the chromatic dragons, not some lowly white dragon. Are you insinuating that I would have anything to be afraid of? he growls. Small tendrils of flame could be seen flickering out the corners of his lips as he stares hard at the interviewer to see if he would dare challenge what was said.

((More questions shall be added! If there's something you'd like to see Jericho answer personally, feel free to ask him!))

I really like your character! Some crit I'm leaving behind is, could you describe a bit more of his personality? You put down a little, how he feels about the hierarchy in halloween town, his stubbornness and what he feels about the human world but it seems like you could expand a little bit more on his personality! I'm not really getting his entire character here ;;

Also, what would a d20 be? It'd be nice to list that in the beginning because I was totally like "???" until the end XDD I'm assuming it's a beam of fire? o:

Ah! Will do. XD Thanks for the feedback. =D

A d20 is a 20 sided die by the way XD

Dude you're making it hard for me to crit your character XD His personality and traits match up with the original red dragons perfectly! lets see what I can come up with...

you say he likes to read up on the human world. Perhaps you could go a little into depth on what he has found out about humans perceive about dragons. Don't forget all the stories about human maidens being carted off. Maybe he's interested in the human history, like medieval stuff. As for eating them...does he prefer if it's male or female? Does he want to go to the human world and fight a few knights for the lulz?

Beside form that...uhh you could create a little hobbies/likes/dislike thing? BD;

Added the "interview with a dragon" segment.

Feel free to ask Jericho any question(s)!
PostPosted: Thu Nov 04, 2010 7:33 am

Aw, Jericho's so cool. I'm not sure he'd like hearing me say that, but he has a very Beast from Beauty and the Beast quality for me somehow. Aw. XDDD

Anyway, I'm not seeing anything I would crit negatively really, I just thought it would be interesting for you to think about under what sorts of circumstances he might actually approach someone to strike up a conversation with them. I'm assuming he wouldn't have a problem doing so with most other monsters, but are there any reasons he might initiate a conversation with a haughty-looking demon short of just asking to borrow a pencil? It might make starting RPs easier in the future if he has an 'in' with lots of groups of people, not just ones who respect him or are holding a bag of shinies. Again, not something that has to go in his profile or anything (especially with the number of students here who'll come up to him uninvited XD) just something to think about to round him out in your head.

Excellent character!

You mentioned that Jericho is up for taking bribes, what does he think about the "I'll owe you one" sort of offer? Or is he too materialistic to consider the potential of having someone owe him a favor? And because I'm a slave to the rule of three, what does he think about romance?
PostPosted: Thu Nov 04, 2010 11:24 am

Thanks for the crit guys, and the headshot smerd! =D

There aren't really many cases where Jericho would go up to a demon to talk. If the demon was picking on a monster (or anyone else I guess XD) he will probably go up to them to give a piece of his mind.. possibly more depending on his mood. If the demon is giving another dragon grief, he will definitely go over to 'chat'. But for something that'd be on friendlier terms, he isn't too likely to approach a demon. For the other factions aside from monsters, it'll mainly depend on his mood at the time. If they do something relatively impressive he may approach as well... though again depending on the mood it might be "That was kinda cool" or something along the lines of "anything you can do I can do but better" >___>;;

On bribes, he would definitely prefer material goods for sure. But if someone says they'll owe him, he will remember it for sure. If he doesn't trust you all too much, he might not take it up since waiting on a returned favor isn't always as reliable as an upfront payment. Should someone owe him and decide to conviently forget about saying that, they'll have one angry dragon on their hands.

And as for romance, he's not a huge fan of it but he doesn't mind it much, though he does find it a bit foolish. It doesn't revolt him or anything unless it's shoved in his face.. in which case he'll get rather annoyed.

Hallo Blade! Here to leave you a crit~

I think he sounds pretty solid overall. Interesting personality ( I do love those proud types )~ I am wondering on how he interacts with people who want to be his friend though. What behavior would typically annoy him in others? On that token, what kinds of things would others do to get into his good graces? I can see maybe gift giving being both a good and bad thing in making friends with him. XD But that's my perspective on it.

Also! I would like to see his skills and hobbies fleshed out a little bit. You make mention of dice for both his likes and his FEAR ability, and you briefly mention an interest in games. I'd like to see more on that! What kind of games? The dice thing makes me think he'd be especially interested in games of chance or gambling.. it could possibly be problematic if he liked those games TOO much. XD

Otherwise, everything looks good! Best of luck to you, Blade! <3 Would you be able to give my Tsetsiliya a crit back when you have time?
PostPosted: Fri Nov 05, 2010 1:13 pm

Thanks for the Crit Hali!

A few things that would annoy him would be those having incredibly low self esteem (moreso for dragons than any others.. he probably wouldn't care so much if it were a demon thinking lowly of themselves for once). It wouldn't put him off so much that he wouldn't want to be friends with such a being but he may rant/lecture now and then on how they need to have more confidence. It... doesn't always quite occur to him that ranting at someone about that may not really help with their timid nature or whatever. >___>;;

He also doesn't really like hyperactivity all too much. If someone were clingy towards him, he actually wouldn't mind most likely unless they were messing with his stuff too much.Also if they were just outright possessive of him, he won't like that so much. And yeah, giving him gifts is a nice way of making him like you but if there aren't really any other qualities about you that he doesn't care so much about and you stop giving him things... he'll probably not like you as much anymore. XD

While he can take care of himself rather well, if someone were to stand up for him for whatever reason, that would be one way of pleasing him. The only exception for this is when he specifically wants to take care of something on his own since then his pride gets in the way of the whole "oh hey, they're willing to help me. That's pretty cool" type feeling.

And ah! Will do. =D
He actually does enjoy gambling as it can lead to him getting more shinies. Jericho is one very unhappy dragon should he end up losing his shinies though. Those sorts of games are pretty much the only ones the would not mind resorting to cheating if it came down to it. Other games he enjoys are some table top things such as Dungeons and Humans. Also, while not exactly a game, he does enjoy a good riddle now and then.

*goes to check out Tsetsiliya!*

There isn't a lot to say. I love him, everything matches up and he does match red dragons. ::Is a reader of Dragon Lance::

My one question...or two questions are...

What would he do if he did meet a human?

Would he kidnap a human 'maiden'? And if he did would it be to eat her or to keep her as a treasure like dragons in fairytales, since they didn't seem to eat the maidens so much as just...posses them.
