Helu was lost. Not a little lost, not somewhat lost, not even kinda lost. No, he was /really/, /extremely/ lost. Had no idea where the hell he was, lost. He looked around, vaguely aware that he was now in a tribe's lands. Maybe they'd be nice... He mentally crossed his paws and hoped for the best, continuing on.
He'd just been walking and had somehow ended up here, he didn't know how or when he'd deviated from the path he'd "set" for himself or if this was even on the path he'd mentally set, but he kept walking anyway; he had nowhere else to be, so why not continue this path to its entirety - if he was turned away, then he'd leave, but otherwise why not try? It wasn't long until he realised he was coming upon an odd cave, and that it was later than he'd thought - he'd just thought that the trees were making it seem darker than it actually was - but it appeared to be well past sunset.
He noticed a dark figure blending in with the cave and he squinted, approaching slowly, knowing his own neon coat was like a warning sign. "Hello there, I'm Helumeri," He said with a confidence he didn't feel, hoping his greeting would make the other fox return with a greeting just as nicely, and tilted his head, sitting down uninvited.

Fitzroy looked up at the fox that introduced himself, then promptly blinked at the audaciousness of his coat--it hurt the poor fox's eyes.
Instead of introducing himself like a normal fox, Fitz wrapped his tail more around him and schooched a little bit away, closer to the cave wall. He didn't know this fox--and he didn't talk to anybody, hardly even his family. Because he couldn't. Sure, he thought of stuff to say, and then he'd open his mouth to say it and nothing would come out--it was like his fear of saying something stupid or something paralyzed him. It wasn't like he wanted to be so shy, but...he was.
Knowing the fox would get bored and leave eventually (they all did), Fitzroy said nothing, just looked at him over the brim of his gray-black tail.

Helumeri blinked when the other fox said nothing, hardly even acknowledged Helumeri's existence, and shuffled away. Had he already irritated this fox? Had he been sleeping and Helumeri had woken him up?
There was a pause in which Helumeri shifted awkwardly from foot to foot, unable to think of anything to say, unable to excuse himself, to beg for forgiveness - for anything, really. Still, he didn't get up or go away, he only lay down, looking away from the fox.
"Sorry if I woke you up or something... I'll stay quiet, I promise. I just don't want to be alone for right now. I mean, I guess you can tell me to go away or something..."
His voice trailed off at the end because he was really, really, really hoping this other fox wouldn't. Even if it was silent, he didn't want to go away, he liked being here, it felt nice. "I know this is tribe... And I'll go really soon, after I rest up... I've been walking forever... So..."
He slowly traced his claws in the dirt, looking pointedly away.

Fitzroy was silent for another few minutes, then mumbles against his tail, hardly loud enough to be heard, "Can stay if you want," It wasn't like Fitz would tell him to leave--he had no control over this fox, and Lunarie was usually pretty good about welcoming strangers to stay for a night or two if they needed it.
"'N' I wasn't sleeping," Fitzroy added quickly, then promptly buried his face back in his tail in embarrassment, even though he really had nothing to be embarrassed about. He just felt stupid when he said stuff like that, and he hated feeling stupid.
There was silence for another long few minutes, until Fitz found the courage to speak again. "Should ask Elder Ari if you can stay if you're so tired. He's that way." Fitz flicked his tail in the direction he thought his Elder was, revealing his face fully for just a moment. Then he settled back against it, and most of his face was hidden once again.
