Name: Ashton Stormwill
User Image
Nicknames: Crash (for his once-famous catchphrase), That big guy, Oh s**t he's coming

Age: 17

Birthday: June 3rd

Sign: Gemini

Blood Type: B+

Fav. Food: apples. Cheesesteak.

Hated Food: salad. That's about it, he will gladly eat anything else.

School: Hillworth.

Hobbies:
Baseball - Now that's a sport he excels at! Not for pussies, and you get to hit things. There's the hope that jock assimilates the true team spirit of that game and grows up to be a known athlete. So far, he's been on the right track, and shows a good spirit of initiative. May or may not have been training with a wooden plank and a victim's calculator.

Rock music - A secret love of his. His singing skills are decent but not stellar, and he couldn't play the guitar if his life depended on it. Nonetheless, he enjoys listening to it. Ashton is very disappointed by the lack of proper concerts in Destiny City, especially since security has become a big issue, but he deals with it with an occasionnal practice of inspired air guitar. He knows his classics. Just don't look at him funny for liking Queen, and he won't punch you.

"Honorable fights" - He challenges people for a fight. A lot. Home rules: one-on-one, fists only, running away equals immediate forfeit, no attempt against anyone’s fertility, no accessory, no preparation time, starts NOW READY STEADY GO. Also a thin-veiled excuse to bully those damn nerds: “Hey, you, yes you, I bet your lunchbox you don’t stand a chance against me. HERE I GO~”
If his opponent breaks any of these rules? So does he. So, you want to defend yourself with that spork? HAH, I shall take it back from you and pwn you with it.
Also, surprisingly enough, not a sore loser at all. If you manage to defeat him without cheating, he’ll consider you a worthy opponent, and maybe a friend he will gladly challenge again once he's improved.

Gemstone: Pearl

Virtues:
Obedient - Ashton doesn't question authority. He recognizes his worthy superior at first sight and serves them honourably. Just show in no uncertain term you have more (will)power than he does and that the rules clearly say he’s an underling. His parents never really counted, because they gave up long ago, and his teachers just never quite struck him as authoritative. He will make sure you’re proud of him.
Problem? His obedience is selective. He is the kid who threw a tantrum every time his parents meekly attempted to say no before giving in. He is the student who openly mocks his teacher because he is intimidated by his stature. He is that guy you have to beat in a RPG before he joins your party. He is the primary target of boot camps for kids. And the Negaverse.

Fun - This guy always knows something fun to do. He attracts attention rather naturally, which combined with his occasionnal lack of sense of shame, will push him to do about everything teenagers find wildly hilarious. Ash likes to think of himself as the most important part of any party; which is not quite true, but peers do notice his absence whenever he can't attend a party.
Actually, if he won't directly disobey a leader, he might ignore written rules if they are in the way of his funtimes. Let's get beer and dance all night like there's no tomorrow, pals!

Strong - Not only physically, but also mentally. It is incredibly hard to break him. Little to nothing shocks him. When confronted to an unexpected problem, he will react as usual. Heroic BSOD, freakout, depression? Those words won't enter his vocabulary anytime soon. He's remarkably resilient and keeps a strong grasp on the things he does understand.

Flaws:
Sharp as a butter knife - Let's be honest for a second now: he's never considered school to be a priority, and that shows. Also, he can get quite bad ideas at time, as he never thinks thoroughly enough about the long-term consequences. Ash always seems to manage to be somewhat surprised that his blind displays of brute force and spontaneous outbursts not only come with negative consequences, but may not even result in what he wanted.
Add that to the fact he learns slowly from his mistakes. He just doesn't rub his braincells together hard enough.

Inaccurate - "I captured a guardian cat, sir! Why yes, it is a guardian, it's got a crescent-like marking stuff on its head, kinda, when you look at it under the right lighting, and yes, it's its fur... oh, you'd meant a star. Well, it's the same. It's not really important. I mean. Is it?"
Strength > precision. He does not really pay attention to the subtle shades of things; because as long as he does hit his target eventually, who cares about collateral damages? Let me tell you of the time that guy taunted Ashton, and he swung his arm and hit that girl instead and... no, in fact, let's not.
It's not that he rushes headfirst into situation no matter the costs; rather, his plans often involve doing more damage than necessary. After all, if the damage is spread enough, you'll hit the target in the end.

Violent - The other reason he ended up at Hillworth. Don't taunt him, he'll punch you. Don't look at him funny more than once, or he'll punch you. Don't mock him, or...
... long story short, violence is not the answer. It's the question, and the answer is "HELL YEAH".
He's working on that. Really. He does. But sometimes, it's just so tempting to make you shut up with a nice punch IN THE NOSE.

Bio:
Ashton is the second boy in a family of six in that part of the city you don't really (want to) spend time in. The Stormwill are rather poor, both economically, and culturally; Jennifer, the mother, has been jobless for years, and probably won't get to work outside anytime soon, while the father, Stephen, spends an awful time driving his taxi so that he can feed his whole family. The older brother, Joshua, is 23, and currently serving in the army. Ashton's younger siblings, Lucy and Luke, are 8-year old twins, and thankfully, a bit more behaved than our schoolboy.

The father is very absent, and the mother is easily overwhelmed; she barely has enough energy to take care of the chores, and her authority is awfully lacking. Ashton has realized very early that they couldn't afford the same things as his classmates, and followed his own set of rules so that he wouldn't harass his parents with the painful topic of money. Entitlement was still there, however, and he considered himself better than all the other kids; which prompted him to correct material differences by punching the culprits. And stealing their lunches. And their bicycle, and...

It only went dowhill starting from his early childhood, and while he never went so low as to beg for money or steal from his parents, he sure drove them (especially his mother) mad. She would blame his hyperactivity, and reply that those boys should just learn how to blend in and besides, all of this just helped them build character, but deep inside, despite such a rationalization, she was extremely annoyed by her son's behavior.
The discovery of baseball calmed him down a bit, as it discharged some of Ashton's energy into a constructive activity. He slowly learnt what it means to fight honourably... then he twisted his newfound knowledge into an excuse for more thinly-veiled bullying.

At age 15, his uncle Marlon, who was a soldier as well, and a pilot at that, came back from his duty in Afghanistan, and asked to have Ashton spend Christmas at home, and maybe even New Year's eve. Stephen and Jennifer accepted, and during these two weeks of holidays, the boy bonded with his more authoritative, but much more present and paternal uncle. Two months later, as Marlon left America for his military duty, he was reported missing, and the army never gave more optimistic news. He probably was captured and killed, but no body was ever found.

The loss of his dear uncle didn't change the teenager deeply, oddly. He'd behaved more since that Christmas, and started looking for peers who equalled him in strength, but he was pretty much the ol' same Ashton who terrorized the new kids.

And now, he's getting expelled from Meadowview and going to Hillworth. The reason for this? This time, he didn't wait until the teacher got out of the classroom to break his victim's nose for... we're not quite sure, Ashton's version shifts daily, and the guy can't quite remember what happened beside the loud noise and blunt pain.
Good riddance, thought his parents; now that he's someone else's problem, they won't have more furious parents complaining to them, and they will have a hint of a life.

Notes:

-Ashton was corrupted by the Negaverse shortly before Charonite's "disappearance"; he hasn't achieved much at all this summer because of family holidays. He couldn't really say no: they hadn't had proper holidays in over 10 years.

-Glaucophane believes firmly that might makes right. He doesn't think he's evil at all; it really wasn't hard at all to corrupt his starseed just enough to convince him it's all right not to even let citizens a chance to fight back. Also, Charonite just emitted sheer badassness and leadership that is unlike anyone he's met until now, and he was extremely proud to serve such a powerful individual. Oh, and Beryl is rather badass for a woman in such a dress.
... he's still convinced he is on the good side.

-He will get a drill. It goes on his hand. He's gonna have fun punching with that.
He'd rather not use his weapon if he can get senshis/cavaliers to fight a fair fight with his house rules. If he can't (and I don't see why anybody would be insane enough to obey him in the first place), he will use his weapon as much as he can to break crap and try ruining shields/walls/solid stuff with holes. Fortunately and ironically, while digging holes is rather easy with it, he can't destroy organic matter (this includes your character's body) so easily. In that case, it won't break skin any more easily than a normal drill would.

-No, I never watched Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan, feel free to stone me.

-He's gay in denial. Emphasis on DENIAL.

-Sorry, but he's got no qualm whatsoever when it comes to hitting girls. Just because they have boobs doesn't dispense them from getting stronger.

-Ashton had considered a military career like his uncle in case his baseball career didn't work out. This explains his uniform's appearance.

-Playlist: A rush of blood to the head (Coldplay) - Paint it Black (The Rolling Stones) - This boy (Franz Ferdinand)

This journal has a way too high meme-to-post quotient than it should be possible for that character, but I just can't stop.
PostPosted: Thu Oct 14, 2010 5:09 am

'cuz seriously, Ashton doesn't do memes, he beats up the geeks who keep repeating them instead.

However, I rather like the mental image of Glaucophane shouting "UNLESS IT'S A FARM".
