In my guild we are doing a thread theme story and thread competitions. Our current threads are a were-animal cafe, a cemetary, a dark circus, and the unseelie sidhe court. Within each thread there is a mascot who will have a story centered aroun them and the theme of the thread. As the story progresses through certain amounts of posts the members of that thread will be allowed to choose what the mascot will do next in the story like in Goosebumps choose your adventure type books. Each thread will be competing against the others for Blood Stones. The threads will recieve a blood stone for every 50 posts and the thread with the most Blood Stones at the end of the event will win. There will also be smaller contests in each guild like for bumps, dice rolls, tekteks, costume contests, etc.

You could do something similar here?

Since it's a small guild, I think it would be easier to focus on ideas that don't take as many posts or as much effort (Unless some in here seriously have the extra time and want to). I would suggest something easy like Theme weeks or theme days. Just something fun we can all participate in without feelings pressured to do something extra. Perhaps a take on the whole giving out Candy idea but mixing it up like a secret Santa or something. The crew could secretly assign us all a member (Should be active members only) and we secretly give them small gifts. We could decide on the gold amount of the gifts. Maybe play a small game where they have to figure out who their secret gifter is.

if we do secret trick or treat we can do the treats through the guild Captain-Aquarium. this is the guild account. which if anyone is the mood to donate, donations go to that account.

i agree with the posts. if we do something based on that it will be a small number of posts. we all have real life stuff.

i want to keep this light and fun.

if anyone wants to run there own contest or something let me know. prizes must go through Captain-Aquarium

we pick a handful of words,
pumpkin, bat, latte, shopping
stuff like that and then you make up a short story with the words.

secret trick or treat....maybe small items donated, or if we have a participation fee. Captain Aquarium could hand items out. we could have a trick or treat bump. every ten bump one a certain time, day gets a treat sent.
or we pair people up and have it secret gifts through the Capt. A

Yeah, I don't know the best way to do the secret trick or treat. Some of you have ideas already. I was just throwing it out there because I wasn't smart enough to come up with anything detailed...hehehehe But I really would love to do a gift giving thing.

Wait, what if we decided NOT to do a secret thing. What if we did something where we pair up with a guild member we don't know and GET to know each other. We could have a get to know each other thread for each pair we were post questions and answer questions. This would be a great way to get closer as a guild. And then, at the end, we could have an idea of what kind of gift to give the other person! Maybe part of the getting to know each other would be asking questions about how they dress up their avi and what kinds of items they like, etc.

Anyway, once again, just throwing out an idea.

Why are people getting banned from receiving gifts? I often get anonymous gifts...

Recently a couple of people received anonymous gifts and after opening them and then logging out, they logged back in to find that they were banned.
Early this year I accepted some things from a "friend" and two of my accounts were banned, because these items were actually stolen from hacked accounts. It took me a month to get my accounts back. I was one of the lucky ones - I had plenty of documentation to show that I had no idea those items were stolen and I was innocent. Not everyone gets their accounts back, and I guess from what I've heard it generally takes longer (though it felt like a lifetime to me!).
I know, with friends like that, who needs enemies, right? Point is, you have to be very careful about accepting gifts, Doll - we wouldn't want you to end up in that position.
