Effect/Affect
It doesn't matter how many times it's explained to me or I look it up, I cannot keep them straight. Granted, I'm getting better. It's taken me literal years, but I'm beginning to sort them. Barely.

It's taken me literal years, but I'm beginning to sort them. Barely. YES. YES. gonk You know, as a kid I didn't have a problem. I always used "affect" when I'm speaking of affection and "effect" when I'm speaking of a result, but sometimes effect is the same as affect so...you know what? Forget English, man, I'm speaking Pig Latin. ):< If I only know how to speak it. Crud.

My little brother and I would have entire conversations in Pig Latin. We still do, actually. We did it over the summer a bunch. It was fun and quirky.
Anyway, they're the only two I just can't get right. Sometimes I just avoid the words altogether and find synonyms.

I can speak Pig Latin! My mom used to talk to me in Pig Latin. biggrin
Actually, this is nice and embarrissing, but a lot of times I'll switch Week/Weak. I don't do that as much as Weather/Whether, though. That one gets me unless I type both out. T.T

Supinelu I do "through" and "throw" a lot, apparently. They kind of sort of sound alike? ninja I mix up through, throw, and though all the time. And then I create my own homonyms, like "post" and "poast". See, I don't know what 'poast' is, but my best guess is that its toast you get through the mail.

Once in a while, I have a brain fault and mix up "here" and "hear." There is a simple way to remember them, though. "Hear" has "ear" in it, and you need an ear to hear.
And then allot/a lot. "A lot" can be remembered as "a whole lot," since there is a whole lot of space between them.

I'm lucky- I've never had too many problems with homonyms. biggrin
However, I suck at spelling with things that sound like they should have an 'e' and they have an 'a'.

Ha, I found a new one.
Its actually not really a homonym, but I think this is a pretty good place to put it.
ear and era
This always happens when I'm typing and I hit the keys too fast. In fact, I don't think I've ever spelt 'era' right on the first try.
