So. Henceforth, I have carved out this lovely little niche for myself within the guild. It's quite cozy here yes. I could snuggle right into my blankets (all nine of them, don't judge) and indulge myself in writing any number of things. On cold October nights – which of all things, it suddenly shifted from severely warm (one hundred degrees) to freezing (forty and under) seemingly OVER NIGHT – it's the best thing to do.

The name is Supinelu. If you've ever played Final Fantasy XII, yeah, you can probably get the connection. Anyway, I approve of the following nicknames: Supi, Supine, Elu, Lu-Lu, Kai, Star and with those closest to my heart, Seth. Supi is by far the most well known, for obvious reasons. Anyway, I was invited into this guild so here I be :3

I just love messing around with formatting this thing. Will probably change sporadically. Sorry...

User ImageWhat do I write?

It's hard to categorize, I have many interests – and a difficulty labeling any set genre – but I suppose I am predisposed to fantasy. I grew up an outcast, at the time miserable because of it, but now that I've gotten to a place where I think I can forge my own future it's a time that I cherish. It was the time I started really loving to read. And I mean it. Do I EVER love to read. I suppose that's what started me off on my love of writing. Possibly by the beginning of fifth-sixth grade onward I was already reading at a college level (at least something came out of all those years with my nose spent in a book) and the writing bit kind of evolved with it.

Writing has grown to be my favorite activity, and only my love of water and swimming contest it. I write to feel alive, anymore.

Currently, I'm in the habit of writing drabbles. That is, snippets of my "worlds" and the characters that occupy them. I like to steal the term "Bleeding Effect" from the Assassin's Creed series to describe a secondary habit – blending worlds and characters together into alternate verses, thus 'bleeding' them into a combined unit so to speak. I don't know. I just like that phrase.

Projects:

Captive Past:

This is the big kahuna and what I’m concentrating the most on. It’s done in episodes, short 3.5k (ideally) pieces that are connected but stand strongly on their own – fully understood in a group. This story takes place in a world that is populated by humans and elementals (or beings that can control fire, snow, plants etc.) and is mainly about relations between the two. There is an overarching plot but I am most interested in building the world, maybe tearing it down and creating something new, and character relations. So far this story has a new outline that takes it through a five act plot with multiple parts. Writing first revised episode.

Century: One - Blaise Zattabouise, Ninga Balfon and Loren Deut

A group of fifty sentences done on a pair of characters. I have dropped the number from one hundred to fifty because well, fifty will be hard enough writing for. I still like the title of century though. Half-century, while accurate, doesn’t have quite the same zest. May need new title.

Addition: Loren sort of keeps popping up throughout this thing. I think I should rework the definition of 'pair'. He's very much entangled with Blaise and Ninga anyway, so it's not too much of an issue.

Phase One – just the sentences

Phase Two – possibly expanding on each sentence into a small dabble of its own

Moving on to phase two, when I have time. Have a few ideas for some of the sentences. Others are complete blanks. Hehe.

Clockwork: My NaNo 2010

I’d like to revise this, eventually. I lost interest but I’ve been reading over the bits I do have and like a lot of it which surprises me. There is a NaNo camp over the summer. I may revise it then.

Snapshots:

This is a part of the Captive Past world. It is basically the same as Century but has a pair within the CP realm.

Various other realms, one-shots, poetry:

I have four worlds working in my brain at any one time – not including CP. I would most like to connect Mind Games, the going title for one of them, but I don’t have a clear plot line. The characters from that world are very familiar to me, however.

I’m also a poetry writer. If I publish anything, it may likely be poetry.

Thus, the end of my expressly large first posting xD
I might (eventually) jot down notes on my characters, stories, worlds etc. trying to puzzle through them. Is that allowed in here? Oh. And major props to anyone who recognizes the significance of the title of this journal without googling it. Supi will love you long time if you do <3

G'day mates!

Supinelu... Super Penelo? (It's been awhile since I've played, don't judge!)

And your avatar is awesome.

Anywho, welcome to the guild ^_^

War? Hmmm...

I know Vossler's from Rabanastre, Larsa and Vayne are the empire, there's Reddas in port town thingy before the tower. I don't think it's the old guy in Lowtown or any of Reddas's flunkies, and I think the Rosarian was a second Cid (Because crazy first Cid is the s**t). All the Viera are women... Hrmm...

I feel like I should know this, but I'm clueless. TO GOOGLE!

EDIT: HAH! He's a Garif!

Semi Update:

So. Recently I picked out the rest of the thirty words for the first half of Century (the words are more common than previous ones, due to the fact I misplaced my dictionary and had to use a random word generator) in order to continue my work on it. Getting out the notebook this evening? There was a giant mushed centipede in the metal ring-binding ><

I hate bugs. On my designated writing materials. Can't stand it. Almost had to toss the entire thing. So after that, starting the process.

I have an issue with being concrete or dealing with intrapersonal relationships between the characters. It also might run into the problem that I think difficulty is going to be had reading these sentences and making sense of them if you don't have an understanding of the entire realm of the story. Which is complex and largely unwritten. This is in part the reason for phase two - attempting to provide that in a way. But I digress, the intrapersonal and the concrete, I want to have a balance of the two in Century although it doesn't seem to be leaning that way =/

This is a handy little guild. I haven't picked up Century in months and am now half done with phase one :0

In other news, continuing on with that as well as starting to get into writing Clockwork. My schedule is about to get much more stressful soon. Through reading Cicero: On the Commonwealth, I've also begun to toy with the idea of government and politics, of fitting it into a piece in some way. It's intriguing at least.

I hate bugs too. Especially the ones that make a crunching noise when you smush 'em. I actually spent two hours trying to get a wasp out of my bedroom once because it was HUGE and I didn't want to hear/feel the crunch of it. *shudders*

On a less gross note, I'm so happy the guild is inspiring you a bit! smile Busy schedules are busy, I hope you can plow through and get some writing done!

Small update:

On Century, if I ever do get around to writing the small little blurbs like I had wanted to, there's something of an issue with the words I ended up using. For the first twenty I was using unusual words I suppose, and then thirty-fifty when I couldn't find my preferred dictionary - an extremely long titled one by Eugene Ehrlich - depended on a random word generator until I re-found the book in time for the second half.

So, in essence, it goes from words like patulous to mistake and then back to things like cicerone. There's nothing particularly wrong with any of the words it just sometimes seems to be lacking a sort of flow when I read through them. But that said, I do like some of the sentences that came out of thirty-fifty so I kind of don't want to re-write them...It seems I have a bit of a conundrum.

Haven't posted in awhile.

Update: On NaNoWriMo and possible future writings

So I've been plugging away at NaNo for the past three or four weeks (lost count) and am about 500 ish words away from 40k. Within a week the 50k goal will be met fingers crossed. By Tuesday, actually. Only...I'm no where near the end of it. I think I've come to a major plot point - one of the first - within the beginnings of 39k.

And I've not been screwing around either, pardon the use of phrase. For the most part my story has been progressing to a destination...it's just that it's taking a long time to get to an equally large end. And I wonder if I will actually finish it after NaNo. I want to. I'll have time after finals for college are over...but will I have the motivation?

Thus, possibly, I'm looking at my next big project: maybe finishing my NaNo before New Year's Day? After December 31 I can't really call it my "2010 novel" anymore. It's a tall order however. Only time will tell.

I do intend to finish this thing though. I swear it. But now, back to slaving over word count DDDD:

Editing NaNoWriMo already. Luckily I can seem to get by just rearranging a few places - this means I like what I've written, and it works according to plot. This is actually new to me.

I think like a plainko machine (i.e. very randomly) so where others could go beginning, middle, end...I sometimes jump all around.

Right now I have thirteen chapters and am starting on the fourteenth, I think. Editing chapter one currently. Might make it my goal. Get through chapter one by the end of the week :3
