Now that the month is here what will YOU be dressing up as this year?
Both me and my hubby will be dressing up as our RPG characters, partially because all we had to buy was hair spray hee hee. So I will be blue-haired, in garb, with flowers biggrin

I think I either want to try to convince Will to do a themed cosplay together as Detective Gumshoe (for Will) and Lotta Hart (for me) from Phoenix Wright. Option 2 is doing a cute moogle costume, not hugely realistic just like a dress and moogley features. I'm feeling kinda lazy this year/underprepared, and want to make decorations more! haha.

Im going for a dark elf.
I have elf ear prosthetics, so i wanna use them.
I thought doing a forest nymph would be fun, But in kitimat where it gets really cold for Halloween id rather do something that looks more urban so i can get away with jackets and sweaters.

I have bought two outfits since I was undecided and liked them both. One is a fairy and the other one is a Greek warrior woman. (I think). I shall wear one this year and the other one next year. I will most likely be the fairy. No worries, Naito for pictures shall be posted. heart

Your costumes sound awesome heart Can't wait for the pics.
I've got no where to go, no kids to take 'round, no kids trick-or-treating at my door (remote street and house hard to find) so no reason to get to dress up. sad

Aww, you can still be dressed up. Last year, my sister didn't get to go anywhere herself. Her school wasn't having a party and there were parties that she wasn't interested in. She had an outfit that she wore that night and stayed in her dorm. It sounds sad I know but at least she had fun by watching a couple of movies. So, if it's just you or someone else in the house with you, you can wear something and watch scary movies. heart

Hehe I'd have to actually make a costume first as I havn't got one! But you're right, Halloween doesn't HAVE to go by completely unnoticed just because I have nowhere to go and nothing to do. Can at least have a movie night and eat candy. 3nodding

For the first time in ages, I am feeling the direst of needs to dress up for Hallowe'en. Sadly, my skills and ideas outstrip my resources. sweatdrop When I was younger, I was a go-to guy for the costume wizardry for friends; arm extensions, stilts, latex appliances, and whatnot, but I rarely got to do any of it myself.
But I guess I can contribute to the conversation in saying what are the top four currently simmering in my rusty brainpan. Johann Kraus a la Hellboy II: The Golden Army; the "Pumpkin King," pumpkin headed and pumpkin-vine-like skin with a fabulous late-1700's French nobleman style in rich purples with more lacy crevat and cuff bits than is acceptable; and a truly wicked and terrifying scarecrow so I can stand outside motionless and give small children horrible terrors when I lunge at them, subsequently causing them thousands of dollars in therapy expenses later in life.

If you get trick or treaters I totally say yes to any of the costumes you just mentioned, and then you've just GOT to be the one who distributes the candy to the kids who visit. 3nodding
Mum always went all out with her Witch costume, used the stuff to 'black out' a tooth to make it look missing, crooked old tiny spectacles, scraggly black witch's hat and clothes, and a ratty broom. She scoped out who was coming to the door before they rang the bell, then if it was a little kid she opened the door all bent over so they see her face only as the rim of her hat revealed it. They were usually frozen with wide eyes while she cackled and put candy in their trick or treat bags. It was awesome.
Also my friends and I would loop the neighbourhood, we learned quickly that if you had SOME candy in the bottom you'd get bigger handfuls from each house than if you had a full bag, so we periodically stopped back at my house and doled out some of our candy to our stash bags. xd I actually managed 2/3 of a full size pillowcase one year. rofl

We do not get many trick-or-treaters here. In fact, last year we had one and the year before that none at all. I think it is because of the foreclosures, half the houses in our development are empty and the remaining half are fairly devoid of kids. We live on a street near the rear of the development where there are more abandoned homes than average as well, so people tend to avoid our street unless they are going to a neighbor's party.
As for candy, this is the only time I can get a fresh Reese's, they're mine! xd
I want to go to a Hallowe'en party, so I can show off and interact with anonymity.

Mmmm candy. heart I want to have a party this year! I found an easy recipe to make pumpkin cupcakes, then I was thinking of just asking people to bring a bag of sweets to add to a big pile of sharesies.
Is anybody else decorating? We should post pics of those too! For my costume, I went with something different/even more lazy...a rag doll. But I guess with the amount of time it has been taking, it's not any easier...I just don't have to go out and buy anything new for it. Basically I'm sewing patches of scrap fugly fabric together to make large pieces of fabric, then plan on cutting out either a dress or skirt pattern and winging the rest of the costume from there.
