Hello and welcome to the second ever Feien Roleplaying Contest, Phase Two: Ze Actual Roleplay. There are a couple of rules.

First, there is a topic labeling system in place:

[D] = Diary/Journal/Log
[RP] = Public Roleplay; any participant may join in
[PRI] = Private Roleplay; only the listed participants may post
[PUB] = Established-Location Public Roleplay; see below
[OOC] = Out Of Character; non-roleplay topics

This guild is unmoderated. I don't expect there to be any problems with people who are not authorized to post posting in here, but if there are, please tell me by posting to this topic and the offending posts will be removed. Since this in a contest, the roleplay is NOT open to friends or bystanders. You must be on the list below to participate.



It's come to my attention that in order to edit any posts you need to be a guild member, so feel free to submit a join request.

Magic Use
Magic should be used on a limited basis. Just because a character has magic does not mean s/he needs to use it to do everything. Most elves do not use magic in daily activities (unless they're a magus and studying it). There will be no rampant levitation of objects or other characters and no slinging fireballs at random. If you're at the festival and can use magic, you are expected to be on good behaviour or the city guard will throw you out. The gladiatorial rules specify no magic is to be used by combatants or bystanders. There are wards against magic in the ring. You cannot use magic on another player character without that player's permission. Magic available to elves is basically any elemental or non-elemental spell up to level five from the feien list, but on a larger scale (as elves are larger than fairies).

Non-Player Characters
Random non-player characters are acceptable, but cannot be attached to any particular character. This means... you can have a conversation with a bartender in a bar, but you cannot then roleplay with someone else as the bartender or control the bartender. Anyone may use said random bartender at their discretion. Roleplay should not center on NPC encounters. Mention NPCs in passing. Don't focus on them. If your NPC starts to have a name, and a personality, and a family, and a background, and a story of their own... you have gone too far.

Combat
Combat I suggest staying away from, unless your character is here to fight, in which case check with me and I'll tell you how many rounds of battle your character withstood in the arena and you can then roleplay the combat as being against random NPCs. If you really want to have combat with another PC, you will have to plan it with that player and know exactly what your'e doing beforehand. Know who wins and how and no one will come off upset by the result.

Journals & Diaries
This is where you record any diary-style entries you so desire and any solo RPs and any group RP compilations. Use it to keep track of what you're doing. Use it to tell your characters individual story in one place. Given that this is a one-time contest, there is no need to build a whole diary front page (and I recommend you not because that would use time better spent roleplaying) and there will be no topic title changes.

Established-Location Public Roleplay
These are different from player-created RP threads in that they involve a specific location already established and work under the same rules as the Feien shop -- all roleplay in here is basically considered to be real-time. (See Shop Roleplay Rule #10 in the main shopw.) You may propose a PUB location for insertion into the game if you like.

Sex
As Sajhiri has pointed out Gaia's really strict on slave-type sexual roleplay, all writing of this nature is banned from the roleplay here. We all know it must happen in actuality, because it's happened in historically throughout our history, but we're just going to gloss over and it and not mention it at all, mmkay? Outside of that, keep it PG-13. You can say it happened but you can't roleplay it. Damn the Puritans.
