_-=Team SHATTER=-_

A temporary team from the Guild of the Sun. An exploration into the unknown and an experiment into a different type of roleplay development.
Because we always let ourselves get so sidetracked with the chapters and the interactions. It's never simply about the characters as a team.
Their adventures and pain. Their journeys, wherever they may take them.

The anxious Leader

Name: Gwendolyn
Age: 14
Gender: Female
Species: Snorunt
Guild: Sun
Moveset: Powder Snow, Icy Wind, Double Team.
Personality: Thanks to Gwedolyn's interactions with a certain then-Eevee, she's a rather anxious individual. Of course, even before meeting him, she wasn't the most outspoken. She was rather quiet her whole life.
Bio: Gwendolyn left her clan and came to the guild in the hopes of overcoming her anxiety. Her first attempt with the guild ended promptly in failure, leaving Lyn worse off than she was before. After a tearful conversation with the very understanding Jynx, she formed a new team with a partner who wasn't much better than the last.
Appearance: A standard Snorunt.

Where is she now?: The Snorunt-turned-Froslass ended up leaving the guild for some time to return to her home. But, much to her unfortunate surprise, she quickly found a disturbing truth; she no longer fit in. The much broader views, populace and creations that existed within the guild had changed her far beyond the narrow existence of her home. As of now, none of her original team has met her; whether she has avoided them or not is something that's difficult to say.

The "fearless" co-captain

Name: Urist
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Species: Mankey
Moveset: Scratch, Focus Energy, Low Kick, Leer, Fury Swipes
Fly, Energy Ball (TM)
Skill Swap (Dojo)
Personality: Urist is your typical Mankey. Which of course means that he quickly angers and is prone to flying into a meaningless, unintelligible rage should he or any of his allies be injured or infringed upon. He despises being alone and will force others to come with him, even if it's simply walking around town. If it comes to it, he will sometimes go off on his own. Other times he will beg for company.
Bio: Nobody really knows why Urist came or where from. He just kind of showed up looking for a team! Maybe he was lonely?
Appearance: Standard Mankey.

Where is he now?: Although more than a little cheesy, the event inspired Urist to go on something of a personal quest. To put it simply, he decided to get stronger. The path began with his evolution and continued with him moving about the wilds, fighting various creatures both civilized and not. He returns to the city periodically, usually with something or other to sell so that he can buy something or other. His training, along with his new form, have seen the Primeape's power increase vastly.

Just a simple Teddiursa

Name: Chelsea
Age: 8
Gender: Female
Species: Teddiursa
Moveset: Covet, Scratch, Leer, Lick, Fake Tears, Fury Swipes, Sweet Scent.
Endure (TM)
Personality:Chelsea was taught by her momma to be polite, to do good and to respect her elders. So she does! Her innocent, childish mind is something unsuited for a rescue team. She usually insists on referring to people as "mister" or "miss" and never resorts to violence without cause. She always speaks to someone to try and sort out what she perceives to almost always be a misunderstanding. Truly, she is unsuited for the harsh life of a team.
Bio: She was once lost on the mountain of the Feathered Roost. Team Shatter went on a mission to save her. After hours of searching, they found her mother enraged and covered in blood. Although they managed to retrieve the berserk Ursaring, Chelsea herself was nowhere to be found. In fact, it was quite by accident that they managed to find her. Lyn was injured and separated from the rest of the party. A Pidgeot saved her and revealed that she had found Chelsea on the mountain recently and had been caring for her.
Appearance: Just a simple Teddiursa~

Where is she now?: Chelsea's life, for some time, was a battle of survival after the team had disbanded. She had been nearly killed in the team's final mission. Fortunately, by miracle or otherwise, she was alive and actually quite fine. As the doctors put it, "It's a miracle. It's almost as if her organs shifted to avoid the blow." But all the same, it was a close call for the very young, small child. Although she had not lost anything vital, the wound was massive to her small frame. By the time she finally came to, the team had disappeared out from under her. It took her some time and some sadness, but she finally came to a decision; she would push herself into adulthood. With this in mind, she forced her evolution in the chamber. In supporting her mother's ambition, she now works at a certain cafe.

Quiet and Plain

Name: Dennis
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Species: Shroomish
Moveset: Absorb, Tackle, Stun Spore, Leech Seed, Headbutt, Poison Powder
Personality biggrin ennis is quiet and direct. He's a simple person with simple goals and simple desires; there's not much else to him. He's extremely helpful and well-meaning although at times he may come across as quite blunt; he always seems to avoid dancing around the point, preferring to instead cut to the chase. His expression is constantly flat and grumpy because of his species. The closest he ever gets to a "smile" is a very stoic look that, for most, would say nothing. But for him, it speaks volumes.
Bio: Dennis lived inside of the Gracedia gardens as one of the few of his kind. He was a sort of "master" of the hedge maze, having an almost unfathomable understanding of it's twists, turns and patterns. He met the group when he found an extremely lost Gwendolyn having a break down. He led her back to the rest of the team and helped them complete the mission by acting as a necessary guide through the maze. With the mission completed and the team safely out of the gardens, he turned to leave when the team invited him to join. With the honest warning of "I'm no good in a fight" he joined Team Shatter. When he came to the city, he was surprised to find that the people of the gardens had actually rather liked him. Many members of the garden had regarded him with fear on the unfounded belief that he ate the flowers. (In truth, he only ate composted material.) Perhaps it was the majority that he so rarely spoke to that bid him a farewell? The Miracle Seed may have been a thanks for his constant help with the maze, which only he knew so well.
Appearance: Just a Shroomish.

Name: Steven
Age: 20
Gender: Male
Species: Squirtle
Moveset: Tackle, Bubble, Withdraw, Water Gun, Rapid Spin
Personality: Steven is straightforward to the point of being rude, but he means well. He really does. Unlike a good part of the team, he doesn't immediately view others as his "friends". However, he himself is friendly enough (if you get past his seemingly rude exterior) and is quite apt at making friends with others. He loves treasure to a fault and he views it as both his calling and purpose in life. He gets upset when he finds out that his efforts were in vain and is prone to dealing with depression through physical violence (against objects) as opposed to a more somber method. He's not without class, however; he's well suited to negotiations, but often only if he views it as important.
Bio: Steven was raised with a strange mix of both wild life and city life. His father (who was his sole parent) believed that he should understand the very important, critical differences between the city life he had and the wild life his parents had come from. His father took him out and taught him many things about the wild; where to find food, how to find a place to sleep, how to know when someone's hunting you... the kinds of things that every pokemon in the wild must live and breathe. He then took his son back into the city, to show him where he worked. He showed his son how he had taken a shitty job with even worse pay just to make sure that there was a roof over their heads and food on their table. He told his son one thing that stayed with him for the rest of his life. "In order to succeed in life, you need one of two things. Money or power. If you have money, then you can live an easy life in the confines of the city and buy your protection. If you have power, you can live in the wilds with little fear; you must simply be stronger than everyone around you." Steven decided to take the former path as opposed to the latter. Towards this goal, he has spent the last decade of his life as a combination merc-for-hire and treasure hunter. Ever since his father died, he has worked towards getting the money he would need to live an easy, content life.
Appearance: A normal Squirtle. However, as a hunter by profession, he carries a set of tools within a belt. Although not always slung around his waist, he often brings it with him to fights and he always has it during a mission.

Where is he now?: Without the team, Steven went back to what he had always done before. Treasure hunting. The world around him had plenty of places to search out, after all. The times of Darkrai long ago had wiped out civilizations and legends alike, leaving behind empty towns with lost treasures and hidden stores of valuables. Though they were, of course, uncommon, each success he had was fair; what few things he found were typically valuable enough to sustain him until the next find. He's still kicking around the city, though. Just as he always has.

Personal Inventory: 6,000 PD, 5 tokens, Ability Swap Card, Dojo Ticket, Umbreon OR Espeon TM

Name: Quack (Not really)
Age: ???
Gender: Male (Probably)
Species: Psyduck
Moveset: Water Sport, Scratch, Water Gun, Disable, Confusion, Screech
Personality: A strange little Psyduck. He does not seem to speak at all, ever. No one really knows what he's like. He always seems amicable enough, although he's a little selfish from time to time.
Bio: Quack came to the team room with Steven after the Pirate's Cove. The rest of the team expressed a general disinterest or dislike in the Psyduck and thusly barred him from joining. However, Quack would have none of it. He proceeded to spend the next three hours clawing at the team room door until they finally let him in, at which point he promptly fell over and went to sleep. Quack hasn't spoken at all as far as anyone knows. He is prone to extreme headaches as all Psyduck are, and occasionally the result is a painful psychic attack that covers the room. A few team members have commented afterwards that they think he said something, but none of them are ever sure. It's hard to tell what actually just happened immediately after the fact. Aside from the occasional outbursts, he's a nice enough guy and the rest of the team doesn't seem to mind him. Considering that he arrived at the door immediately after the mission into Pirate's Cove, everyone assumed he came from there. No one is really sure, though. The only sound he ever makes is a "Quack" noise, although he occasionally says variations of "Psyduck" as well. For this reason (and a lack of a name otherwise) he was named "Quack" by Urist. Strangely enough, the name stuck.
Appearance: Just a normal QUACK.

Where is he now?: Deceased.

Name: Clarissa
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Species: Clefairy
Moveset: Pound, Encore, Sing, DoubleSlap, Metronome, Mega Punch
Personality: Clarissa is somewhat undependable. It's a quality that had originally earned her the disdain of her peers, although not on it's own. Clarissa has the habit of misjudging time or forgetting things completely until it's just slightly too late to deal with them. But that aside, she's an extremely bright and cheery individual with a disposition that's simply hard to hate. She's a very sociable person, although she's hardly perfect at the practice. She has a habit of laughing, sometimes too often and sometimes at inappropriate times. It can be seen as condescending, but it's never meant as such.
Bio: Pilgrim's Mountain was where she was born. As a young Clefairy, she walked the mountain and lived her simple life. Unlike many of her ancestors, she had been born on the land and she was happy to stay there. Their home far, far away wasn't even a distant memory for her. She was happy to stay on the mountain with her friends and her family, walking the paths and simply enjoying her day to day life. Eventually, things changed. The gift of Metronome, a power typically fostered only by adults, had begun to grow inside her. Due to the erratic nature of the power and it's penchant for manifesting in her sleep, it became quite a troubling ability for the then-young Clarissa. When she tried to control her powers, she was chastised by those around her; it was meant to be a random power, beyond the control of anyone.

So she sought out the only person on the mountain she thought capable of helping her. The Medicham known only as "master" to his students. Through his help, she was able to control it to at extent. It would no longer activate when she slept and she had just the slightest control over the types of moves it would use. However, the training was difficult and the occasional outbursts earned her the wrath of her peers. Her training at the dojo made her somewhat of an unusual combatant. As the dojo was populated almost entirely with Meditite, the young Clefairy had to learn to fight with them on even ground. The dojo practiced a wide mantra of "Peace through perfection of body and soul." Sparring was a regular occurance, pitting the unsuited normal type against a host of fighting-types, many of which had a keen dislike for her. Through her own efforts, however, she became strong enough and skilled enough to hold her own; there were none in the dojo who would dare call her "weak". She fought entirely with punches. Her body type was useless for kicks and she refused to use her more suitable "supernatural" abilities. She became a strange Clefairy who fought with her body alone instead of her powers. Her soft body allowed her to deflect blows seamlessly and a hard set of nail-like fingers made perfect fists.

Eventually, she chose to join a certain rescue team at the suggestion of her master. To this day, she practices to control her abilities.
Appearance: Standard.

Where is she now?: Work for Clarissa was a changing schedule. She stayed in the city and found full time (if temporary) work in odd places here and there. Serving at a restaurant, teaching martial arts... whatever she could find that suited her. Most of her spare time was devoted to self training and friendly duels with those she met. She strives, even now, to improve her control over her abilities.

The Crew

Name: Gabriel
Age: 15
Gender: Male
Species: Sneasel
Guild: Sun
Moveset: Icy Wind, Faint Attack, beat up, etc.
Personality: Gabriel is kind of an easy-going guy. But that doesn't necessarily mean he's lazy. In fact, it's quite the opposite; Gabriel came to civilization in order to embrace the convenience of society, but quickly found it to be far too passive for him. For this reason, he's often eager to go out and about.
Bio: Gabriel's history is something known only to him and James. At least, the full version. What is known is that after he met James, he went on to meet Alex, Cedric and Amanda. He lived in the P&P Forest for quite some time, hunting whatever he pleased. If James knows where he came from and why, his lips are sealed on the matter. Not even the rest of the crew knows exactly where Gabriel came from. The only event to stand out in his life was the time he acquired his blade; he simply found it in a nest along with an abandoned Explorer's badge.
Appearance: Aside from the sword typically slung over his arm, he's as normal as a sneasel gets.
Personal Inventory: Icy Gem [Prevents Status Effects in Hail], [Scyther/Scizor- Heals HP when hit with Flying Type moves], All-Hit Orb

Name: James
Age: 17
Gender: Male
Species: Poochyena
Guild: Sun
Moveset: Later
Personality: Out of the Crew, James is the one with the most level head. He's also the one who is most independent of Gabriel. Unlike the rest of the group, he has little dependence on the Sneasel. As a person, he likes to relax and is typically fairly calm. He tries to pursue a wide variety of interests (especially with the options the city opened to him), but he's not taken with too many of them.
Bio: Much like Gabriel does, James refuses to speak of both the Sneasel's past and his own. Whatever transpired so long ago is a secret known only by the two. Other than that, he simply lived with everyone else.
Appearance: Normal Poochyena.

Name: Cedric
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Species: Meowth
Guild: Sun
Moveset: Later
Personality: Cedric is, by and far, the best adjusted socially of the entire group. But inversely, he is also often the least confident. As a somewhat wistful creature, he's subject to a great deal of self-consideration, which in turn leads him to often criticize and over think his own past. Like the rest of his group, he's fairly relaxed by nature.
Bio: Cedric's exact history isn't spoken of outside of the crew, but within it is known if only in soft touches. As with all the others, he was taken in by Gabriel when he had nowhere else to go. His uncle had, for some time, been his caretaker. But inevitably death is to come, and for his uncle it was a violent end at the hands of his family.
Appearance: Normal Meowth.

Name: Alex
Age: 14
Gender: Male
Species: Houndour
Guild: Sun
Moveset: Later
Personality: Alex has, by far, the greatest dependency on Gabriel. He constantly refers to the Sneasel as his "boss" and is pretty much willing to do anything asked of him. He is one who, if asked, would actually jump off of a bridge. Accordingly, he's a touch hyper and a bit more excitable. However, he holds strong bonds with those he considers friends and a good guy.
Bio: Alex's story isn't a hard one. He never really had a family. His parents died and the rest of the litter went with them. Of course, pokemon are both like yet unlike wild animals; he would not be totally abandoned, but he would not be totally accepted either. As something of a poor hunter, the burden inevitably fell to other Houndour and Houndoom to help provide for him. He was not well-liked. He was, in fact, the only one to opt to join more by choice, rather than by circumstance.
Appearance: Normal Houndour.

Name: Amanda
Age: 13
Gender: Female
Species: Ekans
Guild: Sun
Moveset: Later
Personality: Amanda is soft-spoken and, more than anything, slow to speak. She gives a great deal of consideration to even the most mundane things, from what she wants for breakfast (at least, now that she has a choice) to what to do in a dungeon. However, her memory is excellent which allows her the burden to give things such consideration; if she is allowed to think, she always chooses the option she feels is best.
Bio: Amanda's story, much like Alex's, was simple. But she wasn't quite as lucky; there were no Arbok to take her in. She had been alive only for a few weeks on her own when she was found inside of what was to become their home. The Ekans, at the time, had nearly starved to death. Ever since, she's been rather attached to Gabriel and extremely prone to following him.
Appearance: Normal Ekans.

Where are they now?: The crew actually continued doing guild work for quite some time. They weren't dissuaded from the course of action. Although they were saddened by the loss, they had come to enjoy their new place within the guild and they continued to work to maintain it. Unfortunately, all things must come to an end and the guild eventually found out the team had disbanded; with that, they were no longer able to take missions. Opinions on what to do were conflicted. Some of the crew were more inclined to leave than others, whereas some were keen on staying. In the end, each went their own way.

Gabriel found himself well enough suited to the city life, but he wasn't without his trips into the wild either. The Sneasel-turned-Weavile ended up doing mercenary work independently. He would offer his services as an independent agent to both teams that were in need of aid and those who put out offers in the form of "missions". With the guild security as lax as it always was, it was easy for him to search for clients off the board. Though, that wasn't the only reason he went into the wild... Food just wasn't quite as nice if you didn't find it yourself, especially some kinds. He's since joined Team Blacksteppe.

James was easily the most acclimated when the group disbanded. He was the only one to stay in the city completely. He found his place in the city quite easily as he moved from odd job to odd job. As he was no longer beholden to expectations of others or himself, he quickly began to find that he had a strong personality. He was prideful, and though not without arrogance it was hardly overbearing. It was easy enough for him to find work and a place to sleep as he moved about the town.

Cedric eventually gave up on the city life. The idea of constantly having to work and search for both a place to live and food to eat wasn't exactly something that struck him as fun. He had enjoyed it with the rest of the group because the work he had done was enjoyable and it was with his friends, but menial labour wasn't his deal. So he returned to the wilderness and once more found his home in the grass and his food on the trees. He still visits the town, though. Even if he doesn't want to live there, the city still has some enjoyable attractions.

Alex ended up doing an awkward dance between living in the wilds and the cities. The hunt was something he enjoyed; it was difficult to give up. Yet, at the same time, he didn't like the idea of going back to the wild life. Most of the wild pokemon disliked his... disability, and the city as a whole was much more welcoming to him. Thus, he ended up skipping back and forth across the line. The wilds became his often-home and source of food while the city was home just as often and a source of fun.
