 Welcome! To TRANSFIGURATION!

At hogwarts: Transfiguration is essentially the art of changing the properties of an object. Transfiguration is a theory-based subject, including topics such as "Switching Spells" (altering only a part of some object, such as giving a human rabbit's ears); Vanishing Spells (causing an object to completely disappear); and Conjuring Spells (creating objects out of thin air).It is possible to change inanimate objects into animate ones and vice versa — McGonagall transfigures her desk into a pig and back in Philosopher's Stone. The teacher in here, however, shall be none other than Zillah the shadow
Please do show them respect, for they are, or course, your teacher.***DO NOT EDIT THIS FIRST POST IN ANY WAY!***

My name is Professor Zillah. Transfiguration requires a solid nerve and open mind. As McGonagall wisely said: "Transfiguration is some of the most complex and dangerous magic you will learn at Hogwarts."
Using that statement of fact to guide us, we will first need to set some ground rules.

Rules for the classroom 1) Follow the ToS and rules that Headmaster Sing has put into play. 2) Be respectful to those around you, no matter the house. 3) Come to class ready to learn, not to nap 4) Practice your transfiguration techniques ONLY on the materials provided. Not on each other. 5) Have your minds and books open when class is scheduled to start. 6) Unofficial rule (meaning there will be no loss of house points for unintentionally forgetting) Please put in your last post before either leaving the guild or Gaia for a time that you have left the classroom. There have been several misunderstanding and timing issues and I think that by saying when you leave and come back into the classroom, it might be resolved.

The thing with rules, there are punishments for those who break them.
Anyone caught coming into class late by a substantial amount frequently or habitually missing the class altogether will be docked five house points for tardiness and ten for repeat truancy. I know the castle is big, but accommodations must be made.
Those that refuse to leave grudges at the door and badger others from different houses will be docked five points per occurrence.
Students caught sleeping will receive detention unless a formidable explanation can be provided along with documentation.
Using transfiguration on one another will result in a whopping fifty points from your house coupled with detention and you will be removed from the class for the rest of the week.

For your first in class assignment, I would like you all to tell me why you signed up for my class. "Because I had to" is an acceptable response, but I would rather have something more imaginative.

*Raises hand* I signed up because I want to become an animagus. I thought it would be best to start off learning the basics.

It's wonderful to see you Liviana. For being the first to respond, I give you five house points.
And yes, must walk before we can run as the muggles say. I wish you the best of luck.

Takes a seat near the back, pulls out his Transfiguration book and wand.
" Lovely evening Professor Zillah. The reason I'm in this class is because I plan on becoming an Auror or a Healer, and both require the use of Transfiguration, one to help protect your identity and disguise oneself while hunting Dark Wizards, and the other is to help put right people who had some sorta Transfiguration accident. "

*grins* Hello professor! The reason I joined this class is because I think transfiguration is a very interesting subject and one that can come in handy. *nods*

Aludra Yvette... Aludra sat down in an empty seat and pulled out her wand and textbook. Seeing not many people had yet entered the room, she watched her nails as she made them change brilliant shades of green. "Morning." she said dully, not bothering to look up. ...Slytherin

Thank you for sharing Nerevar Telvanni. You have quite the ambition and I wish you well with it. Thank you for coming to class prepared.
*A grin reaches my lips at APH_is_life's enthusiasm and personable nature* How right you are APH_is_life. Even just knowing the bases of transfiguration is helpful in almost all aspects of our wizardry lives.
*I smile at the students and walk over to Aludra* Good morning to you as well. *Looking over her nails I smile* Such a lovely shade of green. Would you mind telling me why you have singed up for my class?
