Welcome to my classroom. I teach 'Herbology', a subject which is perfect for those of you with green fingers, thumbs, and deeper roots. I will be acepting a maximum of ten students into this class - you will need to be able to accept help and corrections, happy to discuss any criticism I might make, and be prepared to do some actual work. I also want people willing to learn what I shall be teaching, which will not be all about plants all of the time. I hope to endow you with a deeper understanding of the world which surrounds us.

Students should have the following skills if they wish to join my class;
  • You will try to post in one tense, rather than switching from past, to present, to future.
  • You will try to spell accurately and use correct grammar.
  • You will mind your manners while in my classroom. There will be no abuse towards other students, swearing and try to keep flirtation to the barest minimum.you may include it into a description of her
  • You will try to meet my deadlines.
  • You will try and follow my rules to the letter, any confusion may be questioned in PM.

To join my class, please send me an application, I would like to recieve the following information;
  • What, if anything, interests you about Herbology and plantlife in general.
  • A short biography. (The bio will be used for the register, and for my own personal records.)
  • An example post. (So that I can assess your ability in roleplay.)

When I have five students, I shall begin my first class. Do not post your bio in this thread - I will delete it. If you want others to know what you look like, mix this in with your posts. Do not post things that a casual observer could not know from your appearance alone, such as 'Her favourite colour was purple and she loved to eat strawberries in the afternoon.' However you may hint at these things, for instance 'She was wearing a lot of purple today, suggesting that she liked the colour rather a lot.'

As you traverse the corridor you walk past a small wooden door that is set with black iron studs. You strain hard and push the door open slowly, hearing the creak of long disused iron hinges coming into action again. The sight that greets you upon entering is one that you might gaze upon with awe. Ahead of you, at the back of the room, is a small wooden desk adorned with various plants in an odd assortment of colours and shapes. Behind that is a blackboard which, oddly enough, is covered in hand-shaped mud splats. On this is a messy scrawl, barely readable, which seems to be your new tutors name. It reads (you think):

Professor Hazel .T. Woodrow
Herbology

You look to the left of you and see rows of small desks, each with an identical plant in a pot resting on the right hand corner. Beyond the desks and against the wall are large mahogany bookshelves crammmed tightly with books. On the top of these rest a large assortment of plants and jars of dried things. In front of the bookshelves, on the floor, are piles of books precariously stacked and in no uncertain order.

As your gaze moves to the right, before you reach the desk again, you see a small window looking out into the grounds. On the windowsill are yet more plants, all jostling for light and air. Past the tutors desk as your gaze takes you to the right now you see yet more rows of desks with plants on the corners. You look past these and see a dark shadowy part to the room, under a stone archway. Through here is the door to the greenhouse and the store cupboards but you don't really want to know what else lurks behind the darkness.

The ceiling is high and made from stone, with glass panels to let in light. The stone and oak beams are all adorned with various creepers and climbing plants casting an eerie green glow about the place. Stone pillars run up the sides of the room, holding the ceiling in place, giving the classroom the feel of a church or similar building. Stacked around the room are wooden sticks of sizes, trellis, terracotta pots, trowels, compost and plenty of other odd items.

You take your seat and wait for the lessons to begin.

As afore mentioned, the blackboard has the following scrawled upon it in a rather messy cursive, as if the writer of the letters doesn't seem to care much for writing.

Professor Hazel .T. Woodrow
Herbology

Sitting in a comfortable looking chair in front of the blackboard is a young looking woman, yet she appears to be knowledgable and wise at the same time. Dressed in plain brown robes that are adorned with golden runic symbols that are embroidered onto her sleeves and hem. Added to the golden stitching on her robes, are a few small stems and leaves embroidered here and there in rich tones of green. Long brown hair cascades down her back and she wears round rimmed glasses which frame her hazel eyes. At first glance, this woman seems to be studying a book about herbs and their uses, but if you were to take a closer look, you would in fact notice that she is sleeping and snoring very softly as she does so. The tattered old looking book lays open in her lap on a dog eared page that seems to have seen many years of use and study.

From the corner of the room there comes a soft shuffling sound that might be misinterpreted at first as being harmless. The sound continues for several moments and then there is a soft shriek that sounds disturbingly humanesque. Jolting awake, Hazel blinks as her glasses slip off her nose and dangle on a thin chain around her neck. Hearing the noise nearby, she sighs deeply and rises from her chair, stretching and yawning loudly as she wanders over to the corner that was emitting the sounds. Tsking beneath her breath, she pulls out a large sack from one of the cupboards and throws some strange looking objects that might be some form of food source, at a rather large looking potplant. The potplant rustles slightly as it absorbs the cube like objects and seems to emit a sort of rustling purr towards Hazel as she puts the bag away and heads off.

Wandering slowly around the empty classroom, Hazel checks the plants upon the desks and decides that they need watering. Heading out the back door towards the greenhouse, she tilts her head as she searches for the watering can she needs to do her work. Sighing deeply as she notices it entangled in the vines of a strange purplish stemmed plant, she holds out her hand and speaks quite authoritatively "Excuse me... that.. belongs to me." There is a soft rustling as the plant moves and relinquishes the watering can, though seemingly grudgingly. Hazel shakes her head and smiles as she addresses the plant in kinder tones"What are we going to do with you..."

Making her way to the rainbutt, she dips the can in and fills it to the brim before she lifts it out and walks slowly back to the classroom. Slipping inside, she begins the round of plants on the desks and gives each a drop of water as she moves among the empty chairs and tables. Sighing softly, she pauses a moment as she looks hopefully at the doorway but alas, no new arrivals yet. After completing her rounds, she deposits the watering can by the doorway and sinks once more into her chair to read the book. Within a few moments, she has once again fallen asleep and will likely remain as such when any (if at all) new entrants creep in the doorway eager to study the wonders of herbology with the slightly strange Hazel.
