What's the matter...

Another boring, boring day. There wasn't anything to do, nothing to steal. Her wallet was so packed with cash that there wasn't a need to steal from anyone today or probably for the next week or so. Her last target was just that much loaded. Despite being a thief, the Meowth kept herself well concealed from the eyes of society, no one knew exactly how this thief looked like or that she was even a she. The only thing they knew about this mysterious thief, was that every time she stole something, the bell on her collar would chime. Before anyone could do anything however, she would already be gone. Fleeing from a scene wasn't very difficult for her though. The girl was agile and alert, she could escape almost any kind of situation she faced, with a few tricks here and there. Tsume was strangely satisfied by her description among the public so far. It was good that the girl wasn't very well known, it would only make her daily life more troublesome than what it already was. Not to mention, less freedom. Something she didn't like at all. If anyone had too much knowledge of the girl, she would have to silence them, in any way she sees fit.

Patting the money filled pocket of her hoodie, Tsume let a smile creep up her lips as she walked through the crowded shopping district, glancing at the display of each shop as she passed. It was just swarmed with people, working, on a shopping spree, you name it. The girl disliked being squashed, jammed packed in the middle of a crowd. You just couldn't be too careful. In a city like this, there was bound to be pickpockets and thieves. Although she had to admit, she was one herself. They just didn't meet her standards though, amateurs. Carefully, Tsume weaved through the crowds of people, making her way to a traffic light. Pausing in her steps, she waited patiently for the green man to light up, like everyone else in the surprisingly huge crowd. She didn't know exactly where she was going, but taking a stroll around the city wouldn't hurt, would it? Besides, the Meowth felt like she needed to get acquainted with her surroundings more, to find better escape routes and such. Being a thief, was more than simply hit and run. Even if it was, you had to run somewhere. Somewhere safe.

While the pink haired girl waited for the light to change, she had thoughts wondering around her mind. In fact, the girl was always thinking. However, right now, she was pretty much walking around aimlessly, examining her surroundings and at the same time, trying to figure out what to do with her lot of cash. Tsume wasn't a very big spender. Simply getting meals to her table was satisfying enough for her. She didn't dress up like other girls, nor did she spend money on extremely expansive items that people eventually end up chucking to one side anyway. You could say she was simple or maybe just thrifty.

She was wandering around aimlessly again, well, 'she', but at the same time a rather definite 'he'. Ruka was female enough, at least everywhere but her body, but to her that was beside the point. Her body being male didn't bother her much, although it did make it difficult to keep a steady boyfriend once his hands started wandering to places she preferred to keep to herself. Sure she was uncomfortable with the idea, somewhat, but it was also that Luka had laid down that rule. Ruka could do as she pleased, but sex and anything relating to it were out of the question, and she respected his decision on the matter. Kissing, holding hands, even hugging was fine, but once those hands started wandering she was long gone.

Now what was she doing? Oh, that's right, she was wandering. She'd gone out to do a little shopping before noon, a couple bags with trinkets and a few clothing accessories in store bags, her high heels clicking rhythmically against the concrete, her pink cellphone flipped open in one hand. She raised an eyebrow at the text on the screen before typing in her reply, flipping the phone shut soon after and slipping it back into her shoulder bag, though not without it getting caught briefly, what with all of the phone charms she had packed on it. They were just too cute to resist, and if anything, she thought they only made her phone that much more 'adorable'.

The Lopunny continued to walk, slowing to a stop at the crosswalk, blending in perfectly with the crowed, aside from her long parted hair. If one thing stood out about her, aside from Luka's black sclera, it was her hair. The shades of brown and streaks of blond always caught the sunlight just right, just enough to create a small sort of glow to accent her pale skin and soft pink eyes. All the colors complimented one another, and she was half tempted to try out for modeling if it weren't for her height being five foot seven without heels, and the obvious physical barricade.
'It really is a pity,' she thought to herself, glancing around idly while waiting for the lights to change.

It was about then that her eyes landed on something unusual, but upon further inspection she found it to be...ridiculously adorable, as simple as it was. A Meowth gijinka she was standing close to had a tail attached to her hoodie, and she got the nearly unbearable urge to touch it, similar to a child wanting to hold a puppy. She restrained herself with an inward sigh, glancing over at the girl curiously until her eyes fell to the hoodie's pockets. That was when a thought struck her, having recalled a curiosity she'd always had about Luka.
'He makes pickpocketing look so easy..I wonder if it's even difficult at all..' she thought to herself. As usual, curiosity got the better of her, and as the lights changed, she reached over carefully and snuck a hand inside one of the Meowth's pockets as skillfully as she could manage, which really wasn't too skillful at all, and her fingers abruptly met a rather large wad of cash, much to her surprise.

What's the matter...

The green man finally lit up and Tsume started to make her way across the road, along with the crowd. Even though her mind was wondering around, she was still pretty much alert and the feeling of someone fiddling their way into her pocket was very obvious to her. If it was a pickpocket, then that person, whoever it may be, wasn't doing a very good job at it either. Firstly, the movement just wasn't swift enough, probably much worse than that of an amateur. The Meowth's eyes trailed the ground, until it met with a set of high heels, raising an eye brow at the sight. Secondly, which pickpocket wears heels? It wouldn't be a very good choice if they wanted to run or escape and third, well, they just picked the wrong person to pickpocket. Tsume disliked losing her money as much as spending it and if it was taken by another thief, well then that would just be insulting to her.

With one quick movement, the girl grabbed whoever was stuffing their itchy hands into her pocket by the wrist, that was pretty much exposed. Then pulling it along as she crossed over to the other side of the traffic, without any concern for the other person whom she was dragging along with her. Honestly, she couldn't care less. But it wouldn't be safe to confront a person in the middle of the road, now would it? As the traffic light slowly counted down, the Meowth reached the other end just in time, however, still pulling the pickpocket along with her, into a slightly less crowded area. Her hands gripped tightly around the slim wrist and the sounds of shopping bags clashing among each other was starting to get annoying. Whoever this pick pocket was, sure didn't look like she was out of cash. Or at least, Tsume thought it was a she...

The girl released her grip, tugging the person slightly towards her before she did and turned to face whoever this 'pickpocket' was. To her surprise, it was a well dressed Lopunny, loaded with shopping bags and the girl wasn't lacking in looks either. The Meowth studied the female for a moment, top to bottom, before looking back at her, straight in her face. The Lopunny had a unique pair of eyes, which the girl found it hard to take her eyes off them for a moment. Tsume's lips arched upwards, into a smirk. "What's a girl like you doing, picking someone's pocket?" she questioned, waiting for a decent reply from the girl. She didn't really have to ask though, what ever reason it was, she really didn't care. As long as her money was still safely tucked in her pocket. But then again, maybe she just felt like killing time. There was nothing better to do anyway.

Ruka was in the middle of sifting around in the Meowth's pocket before she felt her wrist being grabbed, then tugged off across the street. Her eyes darted down to the hand before glancing back up at the back of the girl's head, putting on a small pout. 'Aw darn, I got caught. Really, how does he do it?' she thought to herself, following along willingly. She wasn't too concerned, even though she'd just attempted stealing something. It wasn't so much that she wasn't worried about the possible consequences, she just didn't let things like that immediately get to her, unlike Luka. The Lopunny took things as they came, while Luka always tried to plan ahead, they were quite different in those aspects.

It wasn't long before the Meowth finally came to a stop a little ways away from the main crowed, and Ruka finally got a good look at the girl. With the ears on top of the hoodie, combined with the tail she already found adorable and the girl's looks, it was almost too much for the Lopunny to handle.
'She's so cute! I just want to give her a big hug~' she thought again, not being able to keep the cheerful smile from spreading across her lips, even though the situation was far from one that would cause someone to smile. But, her attention was pulled back to the girl before she could get too carried away in her thoughts.

"Curiosity." she started, continuing to explain as if it was no big deal, "You see I have this...friend, he pick pockets all the time and I was just wondering how hard it was, since he always makes it look so easy." Ruka smiled again for a moment before carrying on, being the socialite that she was."I wasn't going to take anything for real, I already have a job of my own," she added in, chuckling lightly to herself."By the way, my name's Ruka," she said again, reaching over and shaking the Meowth's hand gently, not giving her any time to pull back from it,"What's your name?" It probably seemed odd, going from something considered a crime to greeting ones' self openly to the person you just did the crime to, but if anything, Ruka was always a friendly person to just about everyone. Besides, she was a little excited to meet the Meowth, and found herself a bit curious, as she was with most people that she met.

What's the matter...

"Hmm~" She hummed in a curious tone. The Meowth took a moment to stare back at the Lopunny, as the girl finished her unexpectedly long and convincing reply, introduced herself as well. Tsume smiled, a little amused by the fact that this lady wasn't afraid of her or showed any signs of it either. Not that she expected anyone to be but wouldn't people normally be afraid of getting caught, red handed? Curiosity... Wasn't a very believable answer either. Why would someone risk getting caught out of curiosity? "Interesting..." The girl added, tucking her hands comfortably into the pocket of her hoodie before continuing. "But if that's the case then, I don't think I'll need to tell you my name, Ruka." Of course, like how she usually was, the girl was being careful not to leak out any personal information about herself. It just wasn't her thing. Even if it was her own name. "But I'm afraid I can't let you off so easily either," her smile still plastered on her face, the girl bent her body slightly forward, waiting for a decent reaction from the other.

"'Curiosity killed the cat'." The Meowth's eyes fixed onto the girl, her smile now fading into a small smirk. Was she trying to threaten the girl? Maybe. She didn't quite know why herself, but it kind of annoyed her that the Lopunny was becoming strangely comfortable around someone she had attempted to pickpocket. How strange, or maybe it was just her. She disliked dealing with amateurs, let alone allowing them to reach into her pocket thinking that they could get to her cash. Although, Tsume hadn't really thought of what to do with the curious Lopunny she had just 'caught'. If the girl didn't get scared and run away from her, then she would have to try something else. Having someone like Ruka sticking around her would probably just ruin her day, probably.

Her eyes examined her surroundings for awhile, the different shops and restaurants. Patting the wallet that was in her pocket, she pondered for a moment. 'Maybe this person could help me spend my money... I've got too much this time anyway...' The Meowth's sighed heavily, turning to the side briskly on her heel so that the other girl was facing her profile. Her attention moved back to the girl, "This may come out as sudden, but how would you like to have lunch with me?" Tsume was definitely expecting a no or some other answer along those lines. It wouldn't bother her though. She just wanted some way to get rid of her money. If she had so much, there wouldn't be anymore stealing for awhile. And what fun would that be?

The Lopunny put on another brief pout as her question was denied, but it disappeared soon enough when she heard that she wouldn't be let off the hook. She tried to keep it from her face but she was worried.'He'd probably try and run for it if I got taken to the police station, but if we're caught how are either one of us going to explain why he's dressed like a girl?' she thought to herself, glancing to the side while her brow furrowed just a bit out of worry.'He is always warning me to be careful, maybe his paranoia isn't completely without reason,' she thought again, sighing a little to herself.

Her eyes darted back to the Meowth after she spoke again, and couldn't help another smile.
"Good thing I'm not a cat then hm," she joked back, though there were still traces of worry on her face. Ruka was somewhat of an open book, she was just too expressive to keep everything in the dark like Luka could. They were so opposite on some things you'd never be able to suspect that they were technically the same person, but their concern about getting caught was one in the same. She stayed where she was, deciding to deal with whatever consequences the Meowth had in store for her, be it some sort of payback or a trip down to the police station. Ruka had to be responsible, at least when it counted, and now was one of those times. Besides, though she wasn't one hundred percent sure of it, the girl she tried to pick pocket from didn't seem like she would turn her in. It was just the way she was going about the whole thing. It was true she basically had the Lopunny in the palm of her hand since she was 'holding all of the cards' as far as the situation went, but maybe that was all she really wanted, to feel in control of the situation.

Whatever the case, Ruka's eyes lit up a bit when she heard the mention of lunch after the Meowth had turned on her heel, the matter of her being caught somehow vanishing from the forefront of her mind and attention.
"That would be great!" she chimed back, a pleasant smile washing over her features almost instantly. Truthfully, she hadn't eaten in quite a while. Luka had made something for her when he got up, since she couldn't cook for herself, but that was...quite a few hours ago. It usually wasn't much of her choice but Luka always woke up rather early in the morning, it seemed to range from four in the morning to seven in the morning, while Ruka usually woke up from eight in the morning to ten in the morning. But, being how he was, he wanted the food to be eaten shortly after it was made so it wouldn't have to be microwaved, he seemed to have something against microwaving food and treating it as left overs.'He's so weird sometimes,' she thought to herself briefly, but kept her smile on her face. "Where would you like to eat?" she asked cheerfully, eyes turning in the direction that the Meowth was looking in. "The restaurants in this area are all pretty good, so any one of them would probably suit your tastes," she finished, tilting her head a little curiously at her new companion.

What's the matter...

The Meowth thought to herself for a brief moment, staring blankly at her company before letting out a soft chuckle. 'At least she has a sense of humor.' Looks like today wouldn't be as boring as she thought it would be. Naturally, being as alert as she was, the girl noticed the slight hint of worry the Lopunny was showing. Although it pretty much subsided as soon as she agreed to lunch. The girl accepted the offer much quicker than what Tsume had expected. Didn't she feel awkward at all? Shrugging it off, the girl lowered her hood, revealing her lightly dyed pink hair. "Woah, slow down," she waved to the female before placing her hand back into her pocket. Honestly, the girl spoke too fast and being the way Tsume was, she just couldn't keep up. That, and she wasn't used to having company, or someone to talk to so casually for that matter. She simply invited the Lopunny on a whim. Maybe it was time to start regretting her actions?

Tsume didn't usually spend money on trying different kinds of food. A simple burger was usually fast and convenient for her, considering her unstable 'income'. Not to mention easy to take away and consume while she moved about. It was all about freedom to travel and cheap. Nothing too filling or too light for this cat. But it just so happens that she was loaded today. It was either the Lopunny's lucky or unlucky day to have met her. "I'll let you decide," The girl continued from her previous statement, still a little unsure whether she would actually enjoy 'any one of them', like the girl had mentioned. She was curious about what Ruka thought of as 'good'. Personally, the Meowth couldn't tell apart good tasting food and bad tasting food. All she ever bothered about food, was if it was edible or not. Which was something she learned to live with.

The girl knew this city like the back of her hands. The place was like her playground and she was constantly using her knowledge of shortcuts to make her escape, to weave new escape routes. That was the aim for today's outing actually. Until her company showed up so unexpectedly, in the most unlikely way. A simple meal, probably wouldn't alter her schedule though. It was after all, time for lunch break. "Lead the way~" She chimed soon after, slightly eager to try something new for a change. It wasn't everyday she had the company of someone so... interesting? The other girl seemed to think to herself so very often, something the Meowth had noticed before, when she glanced away. Maybe her company just had a lot on her mind? It wasn't like her to wonder into other people's personal business though and she definitely disliked others wondering into hers. So to be fair, the girl decided to ignore it for the time being.

'..pink? It's so..' she thought to herself after the Meowth lowered her hood, staring at the girl for a moment, '..so...cute. Honestly, if I knew her better I wouldn't let her get away with being so adorable.' Ruka chuckled a little at her own thoughts before listening to the rest of what her companion had to say. She let her eyes scan over the different restaurants for a moment, going over what they had to offer briefly in her mind. Usually she just went to whatever she felt like and didn't give it much thought, but first meetings required something more than a whimsical choice for the Lopunny, she wanted it to mean something. "Hmm....Mmmhmm," she mumbled to herself before nodding a little in agreement with her own decision and shifting the few shopping bags over to her other arm, looping her now free one with the Meowth's, "Right this way~" Ruka kept her cheerful smile on her face before walking off in the direction of a small restaurant with outdoor seating, pulling her companion along at her side. She'd put concerns about her body aside quite a while ago, it was hard to tell just how male her figure was when it was so slim and feminine already. Luka was almost the perfect specimen for androgyny. His body was slim with a few subtle curves, only lightly toned enough to tell that he was in shape, but not enough to tell if he was either gender. He was slender, and even the fact that he had a no female chest to speak of was well concealed because of the fact that his shoulders and chest weren't typically broad and could pass as simply a flat chested female, with clothes on anyway. He could really pass for either gender, except for the one, and most noticeable, male fact that Ruka always took extra precautions to hide from everyone.

The Lopunny ordered a table for two in the outside seating area, pulling the Meowth along whether she liked it or not, and only unlooping their arms once they had arrived at their assigned table. Ruka set her bags down next to her chair before taking a seat, shifting her hair a bit before returning her attention to the girl while waiting for their waiter to arrive.
"It's too nice a day to sit inside," she finally said in a friendly tone, reaching over to lift and bring to her mouth the mandatory glass of ice water that all restaurants offered, taking a sip before setting it back down on the white clothed table. It really was a nice day out, the sun was high in the sky, but there was a light and cool breeze that balanced out with the heat. Clouds were spread out and decorated the bright blue sky in smooth dabs, like white paint. The outside seating area was covered in a relaxing shade from the towering buildings surrounding the restaurant, and the chatter of the other guests seated at the surrounding tables was a mild background noise against the sound of cars driving by casually on the nearby street.

"I like your hair, it's really cute," she decided to complement, folding her arms gently on top of the table to rest them while crossing a leg over the other under the table. It almost seemed like she was on an outing with a friend, and she decided to treat the Meowth as one until she gave her a reason not to. Ruka wasn't one to make enemies, if anything, she treated everyone like someone she'd known for weeks, months, even years with some. She didn't see why everyone just couldn't get along, and saw treating people coldly or cruelly just pointless and downright rude.

What's the matter...

She was being pulled so quickly by the elbow, that it almost tripped her, almost. The girl managed to keep her balance some how and her footing just followed the girl's after that. Her steps keeping in perfect tempo with the other's clicking heels. Trailing behind her temporary company for the day, as the Lopunny led her in the direction of various fine looking diners and restaurants, the Meowth couldn't help but examine the brown haired girl a little more. Her eyes especially, were so different and unique. Her sclera, was black and her eyes were pink. The girl couldn't help but wonder if it was some kind of colored contacts, or perhaps it was a hundred per cent natural? Tsume herself, was never really unique in any way at all. She had natural black hair and hazel eyes, very common colors. Unlike the Lopunny, who had gorgeous hair, not to mention that amazing shade of pink in her iris. With her mind still engrossed in those thoughts, she took a few more moments to examine the girl's hair, then her eyes shifted slightly downwards... At least she had more volume than the girl and hers was already considered flat enough...

Tsume hadn't resisted during their little stroll at all. She did actually enjoy some company for a change. Although she would have to part with the girl soon after 'lunch break' was over. Maybe even put her down as a new target on her long waiting list. After all, the Meowth never got acquainted with a single person for too long. She knew no one and no one knew her, that was her rule and she would stick by it loyally. "Sure is," The girl agreed before pulling out a chair to take a seat beside Ruka, leaning back and crossing her right leg over her left before pausing comfortably in her seat, her elbows rested in the arm rest of the chair has she placed her finger tips on the side of her jaw, supporting it lightly. Her attention turned towards her company as the girl complimented her lightly dyed pink hair. Or at least, she thought it was meant to be compliment. Being the playful person she was, the Meowth sat up straight before bending over just enough to place her elbow on the table, raising her index finger. "It's not cute, it's cool." She grinned as she finished up her statement, then pulling back from the table and back into her previous position. At least she thought it was. Even the way it was styled, was 'cool' to her. Since hardly anyone she knew had pink for a hair color.

Her grin faded soon after, into a smile. "I like your eyes." She said bluntly but honestly meant it. It really wasn't everyday that you would get to see someone with such a unique pair of eyes. Even finding it hard not to stare at it, for a good reason. The waiter soon stopped over to their table, handing the both of them menus. The Meowth simply shut the one that was handed to her and pushed it to one side. The waiter being slightly taken aback by her action. "I'll trust your taste in food," the girl said to the Lopunny, leaning back against her seat. When faced with a big decision over food, Tsume just couldn't reach a decision. So to avoid that, she decided to allow her company to help her out instead. Besides, she wouldn't know good food even if her life depended on it. That and she ate almost anything that came her way.

Ruka blinked a little at the Meowth's correction before chuckling a little, "You're right," she replied honestly. She still thought it was cute, but 'cool' was indeed another way to look at it. Abnormal hair colors were something she'd personally never do herself, partly because it would take forever to get back to its original state, she liked her hair as it was, and Luka would probably freak out more than usual, but she did like to look at them in awe. They were different and so colorful, which she liked, and her companys' was no exception to that.

"Thank you," she replied after a pause, her smile returning after the brief surprise brought on by the comment left her in faded. "Sometimes I get asked if they're really like this or not, or if I'm using contacts, got the whites of my eyes tattooed or something," she added in, chuckling a little, "but they're real." Ruka was actually pretty fond of her eyes herself, like with her hair. 'I wish Luka thought the same..' she trailed off in thought, before her attention was pulled to the waiter. Shortly after accepting the menu, her eyes darted back to the Meowth at her actions and words, taken by surprise again. Ruka hadn't planned to look at the menu since she already knew what she wanted herself, but having to order for another person quickly changed that. She flipped open the menu, skimming the list of meal choices for a moment and trying to decide on something that her company might like, which was pretty hard since she didn't know much of anything about the girl aside from her appearance and that she had what felt like quite a bit of money on her. "I'll have a chicken salad, no beverage please, aaaand..." she trailed off, still going over the menu, "a..pasta with tuna and tomatoes with a diet coke?" Ruka left it as more of a question, her eyes glancing up over the menu at her companion briefly before closing it and handing it back to the waiter. It was her choice, though she still felt a little unsure about it. 'I wonder if it was rude of me to order her something with fish in it..' she thought to herself, a little worried, but trying to push the thought aside.

The waiter collected the other menu and gave a small nod before scurrying back off into the restaurant, leaving the two alone once more and to themselves among the other customers.
"So..." she trailed off again, trying to think of something that would carry on a conversation. She didn't want to seem boring to the girl, or bore her to death, and she was curious about her companion. "You look like you're about the same age as me, do you go to school or have a job around here?" she finally asked, tilting her head a little curiously at the girl again. In the end she went with a question that she could give an equal answer to. The Lopunny could answer most questions, except ones that had to do with where she lived, mainly. Luka's apartment was off limits for people they both knew, and bringing it up only risked it being talked about in the conversation or having questions directed at herself about it, which was dangerous. The apartment was their sanctuary of sorts, the one place they could freely be themselves without any act or disguise, and no one was allowed in. If they could help it, they avoided telling anyone it's specific location period.

What's the matter...

Exactly what she was thinking. At least the girl had that thought clarified for her, they were definitely not contacts.
'Tuna...?' The Meowth thought, not being able to resist the laughter that slipped out of her lips. Did her company think she was a cat? Or perhaps she was just trying to be funny again? Well, whatever, it didn't bother the girl much. Aside from her obvious, cat-like hoodie and occasional cat related proverbs, she wasn't like a cat in any other way. Not that she knew of. But the way she conducted her heists were somewhat cat-like too... Tsume looked amusingly at the Lopunny, wiping an imaginary tear from her eye. "Looks and humor," she joked, calming down a little from her previous sudden burst of laughter, as she watched the waiter scurry back into the restaurant.

Her finger tip tapped gently onto her lips as she paused for a moment to think about the other girl's question. Should she tell her that she worked as a thief? That would blow her cover or worse, this girl may be related to someone who was in the police force. Although, that was highly unlikely, considering that the Lopunny had mentioned before, about having a friend who was a pickpocket. Not to mention having trying it out herself. "Well..." The Meowth started, moving her fingers from her lips to the table in front of her, tapping them lightly in a rhythmic pattern. "I don't go to school... never did." Everything she learned was self thought and she was strangely proud of it. She might not have been very knowledgeable about chemistry or math, things that were thought in schools, but she knew enough to keep herself alive.

Leaning in a little closer, she cupped her hand over her mouth and grinned. "Would you believe me if I told you that I was a thief?" she said, as lighthearted as ever, winking before she pulled back, waiting for her companion's reaction. Tsume didn't find the need to lie or hide what her profession was. It was risky to tell a stranger of course, but it was all up to the person to believe it or not. And there were ways in dealing with unwanted attention. Hopefully, Ruka wouldn't bring any. Her hand slid down, searching for the hilt of one of her daggers. What ever the situation was, the Meowth always took extra precautions in keeping herself away from danger or possible threats. The Lopunny's reaction would now determine her actions.

She was a bit taken aback by the Meowth's sudden laughter, but it wasn't unpleasant. Rather, she liked hearing the girl laugh, it made her feel like laughing as well, and another chuckled escaped her. They do say that laughter is contagious, maybe it really was? "Why thank you kindly," she replied formally while making the motions of a small bow, joking in return. Ruka liked this kind of atmosphere, one that was lighthearted and friendly, yet more relaxed than it was earlier when they first met. It was progress to her, and she was starting to hope that maybe they could actually become good friends.

The Lopunny leaned forward a bit, lifting an arm up to rest her chin in her palm as she listened, blinking a little at the girl's words before chuckling a bit. She saw the Meowth's hand move but didn't think anything of it, being as open and trusting as usual.
"Probably, yes," she replied honestly, smiling again before her eyes wandered over to the glass of ice water, watching the cubes shift idly, "Many people are many things, a 'thief' isn't so out of the ordinary. Besides, you haven't given me a reason not to trust you, so I will until you do." Her eyes found their way back to her companion as she finished speaking, her expression calm, nonchalant even. The Lopunny was partly speaking about herself when she had commented on things out of the ordinary, but tried to keep that from her voice and face. To many, she would be considered quite 'out of the ordinary', and she was aware of that.

"I work as a waitress," she started, deciding to answer her own question anyway, "it's not the best job but you do get to meet some interesting people." Ruka chuckled briefly before continuing, "Maybe I should have been a thief though, I didn't have very much fun in school." She put on a small pout before her attention was drawn back to the waiter returning to the table with their food. It was quick, but that's how this restaurant had to operate, being as busy as it usually was. The Lopunny gave a kind smile, accompanied with a 'thank you' before the waiter left shortly after his question of 'would you like anything else' was answered. She sat up and uncrossed her legs, setting her foot back on the ground and reached for the silverware to her right, lifting it and setting it onto the plate so that she could spread the napkin out over her lap. After picking up her fork she stabbed a few pieces of the greens before slipping them into her mouth, speaking again with a smile after finishing chewing and swallowing. "Really, even a simple salad from here is good. And it feels great to finally get something into my stomach," she finished, chuckling lightly.

What's the matter...

Her hand relaxed, moving away from the hilt of her dagger and back to the table, in clear view. She raised an eye brow at the girl's reply, smiling faintly as she listened. 'Trust' was a word she hadn't heard in a long time, especially if it was pointed at her. It wasn't something she would normally hear people tell her unless it was used in the phrase, "I shouldn't have trusted you" or something along those lines... The Meowth was a cunning person, devious. Life was just like a game to her and only the strongest survived. The weak were seen as tools, for them to use in order to stay on top. That was what the girl learned throughout her life. And the word 'trust' simply wasn't in her dictionary. "Heh." The girl let out, her grin looking slightly more devilish than what it was before. Her grin slowly faded back into a cheerful smile as she listened carefully to the girl answering her own question.

"You sure look like the type. I'm sure most of them are regulars because of you." She joked again. Tsume honestly wouldn't be surprised if what she said was true, after all she had already agreed that the girl wasn't lacking in looks aside from her chest... But not many people bothered about that, or did they? Those perverts. She shook her head, disapproving of the type of people she was currently thinking of. Then she noticed the girl mention about being a thief and how she disliked school. Tsume was about to reply when the waiter from before returned with their food. To the Meowth, it was slow. Slower than fast food. Anything slower than that was considered as slow to her. After all fast food was... fast. The girl couldn't help but chuckle at her little joke to herself before holding her breath to stop the laughter. She wouldn't want to come off as being weird to her company.

Tsume watched as the Lopunny stabbed a few pieces of greens, glancing back and forth at the silverware in her hands. 'How the heck am I suppose to be using those...' It wasn't surprising that the girl didn't know a thing about table manners, or using silverware for that matter. She was like a street rat, or in this case, a street cat. 'They look more like weapons...' Mimicking the girl before her, she held the fork the way Ruka did. 'I've seen people twirl their pasta before... Maybe I should too...' Stabbing the fork curiously into her tuna pasta, the Meowth started to twirl it around and around. Until the pasta was comfortable rolled up into a small bunch on the fork. Although, it was much harder than it looked. As the girl brought it up to her mouth, the pasta, unexpectedly, started to slip off. "Ah!" The girl cried out in shock, a little annoyed at her meal. 'How do people do it...?' No matter, she tried again and again...

Ruka laughed a little, half joking back, "Maybe some of those perverted old men," she replied, flicking a piece of shredded cheese from the edge of her plate with a finger in time with the last word. Truthfully though, there were some men like that where she worked, and she was usually the one that had to deal with them. It more often than not resulted in some form of harassment, be it verbally or physically, but what could she really do aside from try and avoid the guys or report them to her manager? Luka always insisted that she either punch the guys or quit her job, but she liked working there too much to do either, unlike him. He even offered to steal from them at some point, but Ruka didn't want to cause any suspicions or problems. That job was one of the few things she 'had' to do with her time, or more like it was her freedom and reason to get out of the apartment and get some time to herself.

It wasn't until she'd had a few bites of her salad before she noticed her companion having difficulties actually eating any of her own food because it kept sliding off of her fork. She smiled a little to herself at the sight but quickly made it disappear before she lifted her head fully and spoke again.
"Try and hold it more firmly, like this," she said, reaching across the table and taking hold of the Meowth's hand gently, repositioning her fingers just a bit and pressing slightly to emphasize, "and when you lift it from the bowl try and keep the fork parallel to the table." Ruka shifted the girl's hand just a bit to show what she meant, in case she didn't quite understand, and retracted her hands back to her own side of the table, watching almost like a teacher or mother.

"I'm sorry," she started again after a few moments, an apologetic smile on her lips, "I probably should have asked what you usually like to eat before I ordered." The Lopunny poked a little at her salad with her own fork, feeling a little guilty about the situation. It was a little late to order something else now, though she'd be more than willing to pay for it since she intended to pay for her own meal, and even the Meowth's current meal if she was asked to. She had quite the income even though she only worked as a waitress. Luka's pickpocketing was usually pretty profitable so they weren't really short on money. There was also the fact that Luka hardly even spent any money aside from getting things he needed. The extra cash was usually for Ruka so that she could go out shopping and have a good time. "Would you like to order something else? I'll pay for it," she offered, glancing back up at her companion.
